- What's it like driving a supercar? I get to drive my first one and it definelty does not disappoint. The New 2017 Audi R8 actually drives very civil considering its Supercar status. Even driving this blue beauty slow can be very enjoyable.

Brilliant review, I have a V10 Spider, not the plus but it’s still a superb machine. I will upgrade to the plus, mainly for the twin clutch and extra bhp !

hmmm, its a good package, but for 200K+ you have a lot of competition. the 911 turbo, corvette Z06, Mclaren 570S, GTR, NSX, the list goes on. this definitely has an up hill battle to get into the garage when there are competitors that cost half as much and offer far more performance.

I love the C7 Z06. And we all know how well the Porsche and McLaren perform in a straight line and around the track. But, I would take the Audi over all these other cars.
sure, but it will never have that level of refinement of the turbo, never have that raw performance of the Z06, never have that engagement of the 570S with its light weight and RWD lay out, or the technological advancement of the NSX.

To my eyes the Z06 is a great looking supercar. It is better-looking than the GTR, in my opinion. But the design of the new R8 is more supercar-like....more exotic. Yet, as you correctly stated, it is still manages to be the luxurious supercar amongst the pack.
ironically though the Z06 rides just as nice over rough tarmac thanks to having magnetic ride control and a more stable rear suspension set up. (though some call it old fashioned) the Z06 is as much a super car as the R8, but at 80K its hard to match. after all the Z06 beat the GTR nismo at 175K in MT's track retest and it holds more track records than the nismo at less than half the price.

Thank you for the review.. Do you know why Audi decide to remove the Auto Brake Hold button (the button that should exist on the right of the hand brake bufton) for canada & north America market? I am pretty sure it's not because of the law.. Cos, bmw, Volvo & even now Honda has it as Standard for it's new civic & crv..
Great review. I would prefer just the Audi R8 v10 instead of the plus version. In my opinion the car looks better without the big spoiler.

While I see where you're coming from, the "plus" version still looks great. It's not like the spoiler is HUGE, like what you see on some supercars these days. To, me, it is those huge spoilers (like the one on the Dodge Viper ACR, for example) that I find makes a supercar look unattractive. But, I understand it is necessary for downforce. Personally, I would go for the "plus" version of the new R8. I think the extra performance and the more aggressive sound you get is well worth it.

Yep. I really love that R8. And, although it is not a limited Production supercar, I believe it will retain its value pretty well. The reason why I believe that to be the case is because just about every supercar company is going either in the direction of Turbos, or superchargers. And, so, that means normally aspirated engines would be rear. There were never that many V10 supercars, to begin with.
JTL2017 I would prefer the standard R8 as well. The rear wing looks like it was taken from a Dodge Charger.
My problem with it is you need to be at 6500 rim to get Max torque. Which to me doesn't make it an "Everyday Car". The 911 c 2s yes. 911 Turbo S yes. .

Why is the absence of a central command screen treated as such a big design feature? Many of the modern Ferrari's don't have them either....
I just do not understand why people hold the start stop button.
+Edison73100 On some cars, the start stop button acts like turning a key and the engine will only turn over while your holding the button. If you just tap it, the starter will only do a partial turn.

eveyday driving , lol it not toyota or honda. We have lambo in the shop, 40k miles engine burn oil and customer constantly add oil.
where people find money for such cars? what jobs? :P
Many Lease or Finance.
Some pull out a Loan.
Few actually drop the entire MSRP sum at once.
As for what jobs you can get? Pretty much anything where you'd make upwards of $50k/year. Save for a few years. And you got yourself an R8.
It's not going to be overnight, or even within the first year (unless you're lucky or a genius in your workplace), but it will happen if that's what you desire. Just don't go into debt trying to live a life you can't afford. Once you have a solid roof over your head, good food in your belly, and decent clothes on your back; you can worry about the extras.
I still think the Lambo is the way too go, spend a bit less for something far more superior

The audi looks far better IMO. It also handels better, accelerates faster and has a higher top speed due to its lower weight.
The spoiler is very ugly .

It makes it more "racey" lol uh okay 👀. This review seems to cater to people who no absolutely nothing about cars, The availability of multiple engine maps, conservative, maximum performance etc, cylinder shut off for fuel efficiency (which I'm not even sure if this car has), but I know you get the point lol
