Yianni and Rory didn't have the same gearbox as Matt says. All pre facelift mk1 R8's have the robotised manual or a gated 6. The facelift mk1's got the dual clutch unit same as the Huracan and the Gen 2 R8
I am hoping they come back to their senses. Its never a good ending when a company gets rid of their halo car. Think of mitsubishi going downhill after getting rid of the evo
Its not just about Audi, but the stupid regulations. GR86/BRZ, Macan, 718, GTR, and lately the 2 liter version of the MX5. They all gone. At least in the Euro market. Not to mention no Nissan Z or Subaru WRX. The EU really sucks.
Lots of people like green EV cars, they blame the big engine to destroy their lives, and they volt to those so call "eCO friendly green co2 less" parties.
Oddly enough, the V8 sounds the best out of all. Listen to the moment they cross the finish line. when the V8 comes over the line delayed. Just chefs kiss

Really wanted to see what the v8 compared like with a clean run. If it was Matt in the other older R8 V8 missing a gear, he’d re run the race.
Seeing all the old gen cars really lets you appreciate how beautiful that design is.
13:15 the sound guy and that jumpscare!
Yianni and Rory didn't have the same gearbox as Matt says. All pre facelift mk1 R8's have the robotised manual or a gated 6.
The facelift mk1's got the dual clutch unit same as the Huracan and the Gen 2 R8
Wow I like Audi R8 ❤ 🎉
Love from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰❤️
Not Sam always cheating in brake tests 😅 18:10
The first Generation R8 was the best. These cars will only appreciate in the future. Manual V10 is the way to go.
Man the V10s sound phenomenal. The V8 has a powerful grunt to it as well.
Plz review the new AUDI Rsq8 matt❤ love from south africa 🇿🇦
Mat must review the Toyota vitz
@puudles bro the vitz🤣is can't be that's a toy with an engine
@@Rangonito it’s only R170k 🤑🤑
So sad to see this R8 lineup go away.. What have you done Audi 😭
@@horvathr95You can't get a GR86/BRZ in the EU as of 2024? That's downright tragic 😢
The death of the R8 was one of the saddest things I ever witnessed in the car world in my lifetime, along with the death of Pontiac and the Huracan 😢
Rip r8. She had a good run.
Oddly enough, the V8 sounds the best out of all. Listen to the moment they cross the finish line. when the V8 comes over the line delayed. Just chefs kiss
Suprised how well the v8 did compare to the v10 r tronic considering he didn’t have a clear run in the manual and still done so well also gen 1 looks so stunning timeless
Imagine, gen 1 look + gen2 engine...
It exist. 2016
The LMX is an s-tronic just like the gen 2. Kind of disappointing how this has been overlooked
V10 sound. 🤤 But, you were missing one R8 - Audi made a V10 manual for a few years (2014 was the last year, I think). Dream car.
The V10 soundtrack man....already a classic !
Nikhona ? 🇿🇦
Sila bafo 🏁
Sila 📍🇿🇦
gR8 race 😂
Thank you
Mat you and your buddies really are something! At first I was like "meeeehhhh another drag race with R8s" but finally watched it and you all seem to make this so entertaining and fun to watch ! Loved it 👌 Keep the good vibes on
Most beautiful sounding Carwow comparing ever❤
i'm still convinced that the OG gen 1 v8 looks the best.
it just has gorgeous curves, the later the model the boxier they get.
That 1st Gen V8 looks soooo. Good. Perfect spec. 😊 want one so bad.
Both generation BLUE cars look great & sound fantastic!! 💙
The first brake test was hilarious, Matt struggling, Yanni just chillin, Rory focused, and Sam just relaxed down shifting 😂. I think this is the best explanation of each persons personality.
All Audi R8's are amazing
all Legends in one Race🌶️
the Racedriver, Mister Underpowered, Lord Overpowered and Big Monica🔥
Not Yianni screaming "MONNICCCAAAAA"
Perfect Usage. That took me out.🤣🤣🤣
The memories... IYKYK...🤝
These are all beautiful from the OG to the last.
The 1st gen if by far the most beautiful R8 ever made imo. The fullsize carbon blades is too iconic to ignore.
Cameras never do the R8 justice. Looks amazing in person
the very first gen 1 with original wheels and the 2:57 gen 2 with those wheels look so DAMN GOOD.
way better then all other models
I saw the Gen 1 in London in 2007, looked soo cool.
To me there isn't a better sounding or looking car than any Audi R8, they are all so dope. My dream car in any generation.
The original Audi R8 was my dream car at 17. Now that I'm 32, it feels like the end of an era. The R8 served us well.
14:45 The defeated look on Yiannis face, gets me every time 😂
It's weird - that R8 V8 has virtually not aged at all. Still beautiful today.
I really enjoyed watching this race , that sweet sound of an Audi R8😍
This with headphones is sooo beautiful
16:50 There's not many sounds that can beat 3 V10's blasting past at full throttle😍
They sound just amazing! And also, the looks… the world is gonna miss the R8.
Man that LMX is something else
