Using spells like garrote , rapture at a 90 degree angle from the enemy model doesnt break cc also is a cool not known thing that is in the game and you can maximize your damage after blind/saps.
Yeah garrote/rupture to the side is insane and I don't see a lot of rogues who know about it. It saves you like 2 globals before your kidney on assassination rogue.
the 90 degree angle just makes you unable to melee the guy since ability usage FoV is 180 degree and melee is like 120 degree so there's some areas where you can still use abilities on your target but cannot autoatack them; garrote, cheapshot/rupture are all abilities that initiate autoattacks, none of them deal instant damage that's why you can use garrote and rapture in sap if you disable your autoattacks.
all the stealth abilities at one point required you to be behind the target. this includes the first introduction of cheap and sap in beta. There's some weird interactions in this game. Like monk fist of fury parrying everything, even the shaman's earthshatter or w/e its called (the line incap move) But monks fist of fury can't parry cheap shot for some reason.
Nothing can parry or evade cheap shot. That's intended. Idk why it would be weird to parry a melee attack. You could argue it's weird you can parry druids incap roar, that's valid.
Whats hard to understand about Shadowstrike. It literally says in the tooltip that you appear behind your target and hit him. In shafowdance you are considered to be in stealth, so every shadowstrike counts as you are behind you target. Getting hit from behind cant be dodged. Easy as that.
Does earth ele’s earthquake or warriors aftershock, them being knock downs, (maybe warstomp too, I’ve never played as cow) cause a DR on anything? Or is it completely separate, type of ability? (probably some other things that don’t come to mind as well). Thanks for the sheep/spell steal info, I didn’t know about that (I assume hex as well). Can anyone point me to a good, more in-depth source? it would be much appreciated. Sorry for the ignorance, I’ve only recently started pvp’ing (apart from occasional unorganised bgs).
so dr's stack up until I wait 18 seconds for them to clear? the 18 second timer starts with first full cc of given category or after last used (shortened) spell?
to clarify: the 18sec timer starts when the cc ENDS on the target, whether the duration is over, they trinketed, whatever. the timer will reset back to 18 seconds if another instance of cc on the same DR ends on the target. Only after the target has been FREE FROM cc on that DR for 18sec is the DR reset.
Have you ever even thought about how shadow strike can teleport you to the back of a target? What about the animation? Hell even the toolkit says it.. evasion even gives you a clue by saying but cant dodge from behind lol
Wait, did people really not know you can turn with right click? If you hold right click, your right and left turn keys now become strafe! 😮you just got two new free keybinds! That is so absurd LOL
Just macro it. Bind your tab key to a macro with just the line, “/target enemy player” I keep an unbound macro that does, “/target enemy” next to it and swap for pve and pvp like that.
no, because Gfade is a special case that acts like a Freedom but for damage and negative effects in general. They can't be stunned at all, so even though cheap shot can't miss it can't stun them.
Dont ask why but the "stealth" abilities are made to not be dodged , garrote cheapshot sap and ambush . dont ask me why but its how it is . that could be a good nerf to subs tho
You can tell which spells require you to face the enemy target by looking at the casting animation. Every race has 2 casting animations. One that requires you to face the enemy target, and one that doesn’t.

It does say in the tooltip. "Appear behind your target." So it more than likely registers you as behind the evading target regardless.
good video. thanks
My guy puts deep freeze in the DRs, he’s so obsessed😂
great vid, sharing is caring
Does shadow strike/cheap shot go through die by the sword?
Does cheapshot go through DH evasion dosge thing?
what addon makes his ui look like that? when he opened omnicd 4:48
It says in the tool tip you strike through the shadows evasion is shadow
You just saved my life with tab targeting
So does shadowstrike/cheap shot go through parry too? Considering one can't parry from behind
Yes. Any avoidance cooldown. Evasion, Blur, Parry, etc. - just nothing that makes you immune, such as bubble/block/turtle
There's some weird interactions in this game.
Like monk fist of fury parrying everything, even the shaman's earthshatter or w/e its called (the line incap move)
But monks fist of fury can't parry cheap shot for some reason.
Nothing can parry or evade cheap shot. That's intended.
Idk why it would be weird to parry a melee attack. You could argue it's weird you can parry druids incap roar, that's valid.
what keyboard does Xar use?
Its crazy to me that ppl wouldn't know about The right click camera thing
I made a weakaura for the tab target changing addon for people on classic TBC, it's called PVP Tab target change on wago, can't post links
Anyone knows how he heals him self without targeting him self? Macro? Keybinding? Ty
Whats hard to understand about Shadowstrike. It literally says in the tooltip that you appear behind your target and hit him. In shafowdance you are considered to be in stealth, so every shadowstrike counts as you are behind you target. Getting hit from behind cant be dodged. Easy as that.
I came here to say this lol
Shits spelled out in the tooltip as simple as could be lol
Why doesn't it teleport you behind while in Shadowdance though
You can’t dodge abilities from stealth. Hard to dodge what you can’t see coming ig
How do DRs work?
Shadowstrike makes ur SHADOW hit from behind, cant be dodge. Even if your body stand in front
Sorry for the ignorance, I’ve only recently started pvp’ing (apart from occasional unorganised bgs).
plz make more videos like this
It took 18 years to have only 1 speaks about PVP basic tips no one talks about.
Merci 👍
so nice dope content
so dr's stack up until I wait 18 seconds for them to clear? the 18 second timer starts with first full cc of given category or after last used (shortened) spell?
The 2nd one. The spell will diminish duration each time used and the 18s DR timer will reset each time.
to clarify: the 18sec timer starts when the cc ENDS on the target, whether the duration is over, they trinketed, whatever. the timer will reset back to 18 seconds if another instance of cc on the same DR ends on the target. Only after the target has been FREE FROM cc on that DR for 18sec is the DR reset.
heeey guuuys, r u here?! love it everytime🙃
Xaryu here*
it hits because its a strike...from the shadows, you cant evade what u cant see :P
Have you ever even thought about how shadow strike can teleport you to the back of a target? What about the animation? Hell even the toolkit says it.. evasion even gives you a clue by saying but cant dodge from behind lol
Doesn’t shadowstrike hit through bop to ?
No, it's physical damage immunity.
Wait, did people really not know you can turn with right click?
If you hold right click, your right and left turn keys now become strafe! 😮you just got two new free keybinds!
That is so absurd LOL
Thanks for getting this basic info out there for all the noobs. Now we can get some competition in arenas xD
Disorient and Incap looks same...why separate category?
Warlock has death coil?? Coulda swore it was mortal coil :D
I can't find the RETabBinder addon on curse forge :(
Just macro it. Bind your tab key to a macro with just the line, “/target enemy player”
I keep an unbound macro that does, “/target enemy” next to it and swap for pve and pvp like that.
Does cheapshot go through fade?
Nope, until any cast
no, because Gfade is a special case that acts like a Freedom but for damage and negative effects in general. They can't be stunned at all, so even though cheap shot can't miss it can't stun them.
Cheers thanks for the info
Did you know you can stormbolt through evasion?
Dont ask why but the "stealth" abilities are made to not be dodged , garrote cheapshot sap and ambush . dont ask me why but its how it is . that could be a good nerf to subs tho
Because you can't dodge something you don't know is coming. It makes sense.
what
i just want to make sure, none of this is the same for tbc/wotlk?
Years and years ago you made a guide at that same location
