- Phase one of the UltraMotard 1200 is complete! 😁
We've moved into phase two, which is cam testing to create the power and torque curves we're looking for with all of this additional displacement and compression. We'll be sure to share our final results after the holidays, along with all of the performance and weight saving modifications we've made to this bike.
When we're all done, this will be BY FAR the meanest, and most fun to ride, "motard" EVER! 😎🤘

Very cool. Reminds me of whoolies hyper based pikes peak bike but keeping it looking like a hyper. Been wanting to throw an 1198 in a newer hyper frame but my 1100 has been great thus far. Awesome to watch!!
I considered doing this, but found it much more difficult to achieve. I ended up putting adventure suspension on a KTM 1290 SDR instead.
Shortest possible velocity stacks are in I suppose? Have you looked into the vacuum reading at wide open throttle, high RPM? Might be pulling a little bit of a vacuum in the manifold if the throttle, airbox or air filter are too small, right?
Any news of this project ?
Have you tried retarding cam timing a few degrees to move the power curve up a bit? Or are you absolutely convinced that your just seeing pumping losses at high rpm?
Of course (even as far as 6 degrees on the exhaust just to be sure). That's cam testing 101!
We'll cover the different cams and degree settings that we tested, and all of the more in depth details, once we post the final results and settle on a package in the next video.
