Bike is absolutely stunning. Tons of effort to get it on the road and I am sure the niggles will get taken care of. A fun journey following this build👍
Thanks Paul 👍
Wow, that is one safety feature, don't drink n ride 😅
Ducati do need to get the settings right though
Reminds me of when I was 17yrs old, bike breaking down every time I got 5 miles from home. Those were the days.
Well, I never thought I'd see the day Chopsy!!! I hope it's not another four years before we see it fire up again 😜
Looks beautiful though.
15:50 you put you side stand down the a EML went out. Hope that helps.
Good pick up, thought it might have something to do with the side stand switch when it wouldn’t start.
It'll start with the side stand down, or the clutch switch not working, if its in neutral. No?
@@575ban good spot there could be a clue for sure
Mate, well done! The amount of work you've done on this will absolutely open the gates for some early days anxious miles, but what a bike! A unique machine and cool as hell.
Could sense the nervousness throughout, but fair play to putting the bike together to that point 👏👏 Sure you’ll get the snags sorted 👊🏽😎
Thanks Mike 👍
I knew that machine would be awesome, Chops.
Of course, like anything that's just been rebuilt, it will take a little bit of time to iron out the niggles. The bike is really impressive. The amount of effort and dedication you have put into this project is really evident, mate.
Love it ❤️ 😊.
Thanks Dean 👍
Beautiful bike you’ll get her sorted. Just like I got my 61 tiger cub sorted when i was 12, eventually
Ace! Just got back from my first ride, after my recent off, and what do I find - not just a new Chopsie video, but one about a bit of Ducati eye candy 😍
Looks amazing - here's hoping all the niggles pass, and you bond with her - it's always a pita when you have those nagging doubts in a vehicle.
Those mirrors are epic, best I've had on any bike imo - see everything, and can flap them in when filtering
My Hyoer 796 ran hot, as you needed a decent airflow to keep her cool
OK thanks 👍
Looks like a fairly typical Ducati ride tbh 🙂
Haha 🤣 that made me chuckle 😄👍
We've waited a loooong time for this. Lovely Chops!
I think it turned out like a piece of...art. its a masterpiece chops. Just know even professional builders and master mechanics have moments like this regularly, especially on full rebuilds. This journey has been a joy to watch, thank you! Now hurry up with part 2 dammit😂
Wow thanks Ray 👍
These are the videos I love on this channel. The builds and then the first ride…. And then chopsie rambling on ❤
Thanks Craig 👍
Looking good. The whole series has been a fair warning about the "joys" of bike modification though.
This is the extreme end of modding, when u completely disassemble the bike. Bolt ons are much less complicated and can be quite fun to do with a beer or two in the shop 👍
Looks fantastic and I love the fact the checks come down to a hand pat and slap :)
Magnificent bike, but what a cliffhanger!
Despite the neutral light being on at the end, my guess is the bike either thinks the kickstand is down or it is not in neutral, hence it not engaging the starter at all.
Great Vid Chops. Looks stunning, and I was almost in a sweat watching, empathising with your anxiety.
Well done Chops. I was as nervous as you watching the vid. You’ve done a wicked job on this beauty
Thanks Dale 👍
Beautiful build Chops
Are you sure you haven’t overfilled it with oil? The level is usually low when you first turn the bike off before it rises as the oil drains back to the sump.
Yeh better to fill it to halfway when warm. Then top to 3/4 after you've monitored the level over time.
Man awesome to see you riding this now Chops.. you’ve done an amazing job buddy well done man.. I’m sure you’ll sort the little issues.. brilliant dude what an achievement 😊 Pete
Thanks Pete 👍
Great vid. Very very cool. Brilliant to see it up & running again, for a bit anyway. Bound to have some niggles I guess & will be interesting to see you ironing them out & getting it just right in the end.
Congrats - teething issues are to be expected - deep breaths mate.
You've done a good job Chopsy, looks fantastic 👍🏻
Looks the dogs all black in Carbon, I'd just put Ducati name on tank and leave it at that, hope you get it started, I'd have gone back into that lovely looking pub and had another shandy and a large VAT and watched the end of the cricket match..............👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I was celebrating with you mate - I was sad to see the end! You can start the bike on the stand by the way, i've got the same year at home and it's never been an issue.
Chip up chap, knowing you it'll be resolved in no time 👍
Thanks Mike 👍
I'd say the engine warning light is probably due to the engine mods, perhaps having the ECU remapped will solve that issue, the joys of modern vehicles, especially after modifications. 👍
So good to see the Hyper back and looking beautiful 😘👌. Breakdowns during early ownership of a Ducati is common in my experience. My Monster broke down 3.5 hours from home on only my second ride 😂 Knackered battery. Hope the Hyper issues aren't too terminal. What a cliff-hanger! Looking forward to part 2...
Thanks Chris 👍
cant wait for you get on it !! change break in oil and have fun..ride it like stole it.. set rings in good..
Jeese Summers almost over !!
Thought that would be run in and premiered with looney wheelies months ago ... you've been spending too much time with other fun magnets you dirty boy !
Looking good John let's see if it makes you happy as much as you've spent on it !
Been waiting forever for this and wow looks awesome as is , don't go over the top with Decals keep it subtle mate , and as we all suspected you are a premature congratulator 🤣🤣
Haha thanks Gary 😁 👍
Looking great Chopsy , four years !!!!!!But looking great a wee bit of snagging it will soon be fine to go I'm sure , it was a full strip and rebuild so always going to take some time to get it all running perfect mate . Hope you didn't have to push it too far 😮😁😁👍
Haha thanks Wattie 😄👍
Sidestand switch?
would that throw an EML code??
My thoughts exactly.
Awesome looking bike congratulations. A few teething problems but I’m sure you’ll sort it no problem. Part two will be interesting. Cheers Chops .
Great to see it on the road. You needed Greg about for bump start duties. :) Hope it's a simple fix.
Could be worse, breaking down at the Bat & Ball with the sun out! Hope you got it sorted, Chopsy...
Massive congratulations and a proper 🎩-Tip Chopsie. Cheers from 🇺🇸
Thanks 👍😁
Lovely Looking and sounding bike Mr Chops but I feel your pain when she wouldn’t start 😢I hope it’s a minor problem 🤞cheap us all posted👍
Thanks and will do 👍
Give that man 2 thumbs up & a Valium 😂
Haha I needed it! 😄
Oh my goodness, it was all going so well, but still, it's a tiny setback in the grand scheme of things. The bike looks amazing, so unique seeing that model in that condition/spec. Well done
Thanks Brian 👍
Easy Chops, Your like a expectant Father!
Looks awesome chops, this engine does run quite hot
Chopsey needs a longer shaft haha
It's a times like this your glad you went for the full carbon fibre!
until the next episode, good luck chopsey
What will be will be chops. Great work, enjoy what you have achieved, iron out those small probs. And its no differnt to other bikes, shit happens, fix it or recover it etc. Enjoy!
Congratulations mate… first ride is always a stressy afair.. I found out the very hard way as my Walker rep SRAD first run was in the fast group at Malory. The photo shoot for PS magazine happened quicker than we planned, so it was all a bit rushed. I managed half a lap before highsiding to the moon and doing a LOT of damage to 18 months work… lucky we did the pics before the launching session. Stomach still sinks when I think about it now. That’s a rare bird that CTX1300 that pulled up at the pub as well…
Oh no that sounds awful, I got away quite lightly 😬
@@LambChopRides “character building” I think is a way to sum it up. Simon Hargreaves was thankfully really helpful and Jim Moore was equally great. Luckily we managed to get it back to more or less the right shape by the end of the day and got out for the last sessions. 👍
Uh oh, All that talk of needed a "Longer Rod" and "Premature Congratulation" upset the Duke. 😂😂
You'll get her sorted. She looks mint regardless. Good luck Chopsie
Good job, looks great....I need a longer shaft too!
🤣👍
Very nice Chops, glad you finally got it completed. The niggles are bound to be minor ones and easy fixes. Anyway, it's Italian, what did you expect! (coming from a fellow Italian bike owner though mine starts with the letter A....)
Thanks Oswald 👍
Ducati was sounding sweet when it was running!
Wow chops I am well jealous she looks absolutely mint all Carbon out sounds mega what a weapon.
Shame about the little breakdown I'm sure it's nothing serious as you say probably a sensory not happy. No way she locked up on you no absolutely not 🤞
That bike looks beautiful! Good work Chopsey. Remember I still want your smc 690 😂
Haha me too! 😄👍
Looks amazing. Well done!
110bhp is very respectable. Bike looks absolutely lovely, agree with you about the exhaust although it does sound lovely. Congratulations on getting it on the road at last. 😊 Little niggles that will be sorted and I’m sure you’ll be stress free in no time. I actually love the carbon with the red, I’d keep it pretty much as it is imho. Hopefully just a sensor, I think someone mentioned the stand.. Looking forward to catch you out on it and check it out. Oh and good luck getting home 😂 Awesome vid
Thanks Mat 👍
Fantastic looking bike as far as running in ,,my GSXR 1100 big bore years ago 100 ,500,1000 on mineral oil,,then fully synthetic,,but each to their own,,☘️☘️☘️☘️ it's Brilliant 😀 fair play chop's,,
Failed to mention you watched cricket, at the birth place of cricket!! The game was invented there, and the bag and ball pub is a lovely place to stop!
Yeah I have mentioned that in previous videos actually. There are certainly worse places to be broken down 😄👍
Hmm what a cliffhanger indeed lol. Kick stand switch?.
It's freshly built snagging and teething issue's will be vast for the running in miles for sure.
Been a long time coming mate and I've been here a good while lol.
Thanks buddy 👍
@LambChopRides jesus the bloody phone changed a few word's lol.
Reason I now have a 690smcr is due to seeing them and then you getting that long term loner and keeping it lol.
I wanted a 69 plate 2020 bike and now have one and it's Tekmo'd and titanium out it's nut😂😂.
Going to sort a graphics kit and do my own seat over winter. Try memoryfoam?. Backyard cover as well.
Want all your 690 videos in one place so might need to go save them all in a file on here.
Looks stunning
I hate that sinking feeling. must be electrical, battery connection? Looks the part. good honest video.
Firstly think lambsy on a pit bike then i remember his build and think no it like a bike version of one the smart cars....nice!
hahaha, i would have put it in gear and back in neutral. then failing that, disconnect and reconnect the battery. hopefully nothing major lol looks great though.
The Hyper looks fantastic in the sunshine. A shame the ride lasted about as long as the sun! If the CEL is on then any error codes should be stored in the dash. Turn the ignition on and push the rocker switch on the left cluster forward and you should see the error codes on the display. If more than one is stored, the display will cycle through them every three seconds. Note that, if the CEL is on, it may also disable the ignition, to protect the motor. As you junked the airbox I wonder if this is confusing the ECU? Hope you get it sorted soon.
Thanks yes I found those after a Google 👍
Love the exhaust John.
The reason your being pushed forward may not be the high rear of the bike.
I noticed with the same seat (Ducati Performance, Comfort Seat - which is lowered) it slid me forward into the tank. It was definitely noticeable when I swapped out my standard seat, which sits a bit higher and flatter.
The standard seat, if you haven’t got one, can be found on eBay for between £50-£100.
The Ducati Performance Racing Seat is the one to find, it also sits higher and flatter than the Comfort Seat, plus the vinyl cover has a carbon weave pattern which would look really trick on your bike.
Looks great.
It’s Italian, snagging list 2,3,4,5……. Let the lads at Super Mario racing sort it out 👍
Gregorio is on speed dial 😂
Haha 😄
Looks like your kickstand shut off switch faulted because it was too hot . Probably just need a new kickstand sensor could be sending bad info back to the ecu due to the sensor overheating.
Matt black stickers on the gloss carbon, extra stealth
Not the premature celebratory shandy chops!!!! You'll get it sorted I know :)
Yes I know Kate! I should have known better! 😫
Check the flux capacitor .
Yeah the flux coils were slightly loose, sorted now 😁👍
The Oil Man? I want that title lmao
It's a bike after my own heart, except the non starting bit.😂
I was going to say "well, at least that starter motor is now run in, but maybe it cried "enough"!"
great looking bike, great job sir.
Due to unforeseen circumstances mine is going the full carbon route nice to see how good this looks...you know you can toggle with the left handlebar switch and get the temp on the display right 😊
Yes found the oil temp display now, bloody great 😁👍
They go up to around 90 in traffic ..iv ordered vulture bikes red and chrome decal kit for when the carbon stuff arrives but looking at yours I just don't know now...I might try and find some original bodywork to put in a box if these ever become collectible..are you selling your original parts 🤔
It’s clear case of a macho Italian motorcycle being offended by “half a pint of shandy and a spot of cricket”.
Might be time for another shandy there Chops. Bike is looking great at least.
Another couple! And hold the lemonade!!😄👍
Built in, voice activated anti-theft system. A few well chosen phrases in Italian for voice recognition. Put it on a trailer and get the Ducati head mech to help you get it sorted?
very cool to see the hyper up and going. I had an 11 evo sp. I recommend a desmo challenge tail section if youre planning on changing up the looks on the rear a bit. looks amazing with the sc project twin undertail exhaust. i believe the guy still sells them on ebay.
Thanks I've been keeping my eyes pealed for the twin SC project setup but not found one yet 😢
Just heard the eastenders music at the end there John lol
You have done a good job looks lovely which bike gets resorted next.
How about a under seat exhaust
I'd be very tempted to drop that running in oil ASAP after that ride and just put non synthetic oil in for 1000mls. Miller's running in oil is for competition engines, not road engines. Competition engines get rebuilt frequently, road bike engines tend not to.
I am so excited, I have watched the progress from the beginning. I am hoping the banner is just clickbait.
I am glad I am not the only one that gets paranoid! I did a complete nut and bolt rsto on my 900 superlight aided by the excellent desmowerx vids an Andys Obsession in Oz. I still get anxious venturing too far and am constantly thinking of all the whirry bits going round and wondering if I shimmed the crank OK. Anyway after 1000kms its still ok so guess I must have done something right. Like the cerakote on the engine. Did something similar.
Haha well I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one 😄👍 confidence is growing with it now but won't be entirely comfortable until the first service is done
When ever you sort a new exhaust ,please get it ceramic coated black by zircotec, they done my exhaust and it kept the heat down and looked great in black on my black gixxer thou !!
All part of the journey they tell you 😂 the big question from when I last saw it, have you got the rear tyre yet?
Bet that's the slowest you've been up towards the pub!
Great video 👍
It's just arrived now! Taken bloody ages 😄👍
Sounds great Chopsie. Dodgy side stand switch?
10:23 don’t we all mate 🤣
🤣😄👍
Wow!! That is amazing!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Charging issues ?
It's an Italian thing ....🥳 Happened to me and my Tuono V4r a few weeks ago. Very similar.
Did you film this before the open day at Helmet City??? Bike looks awesome Chops 👍👍🤟
Yeah I did Mark 👍
@@LambChopRides didnt say anything!! 🤣 whens pt 2 coming out???
That’s a beauty 🔥
Looks banging 🔥
You had my nerve’s jangling there ,I suspect the oil viscosity for the engine management light, pure guess but if there’s a sweepstake 🤔bike looks really trick👍🏻
everything but the exhaust. under the seat, like a Ducati. the rest is awesome!
Chopsy couldn’t make it 4 minutes before telling us all about his shaft
Nice Mondeo ST beside you in the carpark John, I do like a fast Ford as well as my bikes. My guess is a bad connection somewhere. Bad comms. in the system say from ABS sensor or Lambda sensor for example can cause the light to come on. ECU is getting data from everywhere. Are you wires ok? You may have routed one so that it has rubbed through and is shorting. But thinking on, preventing you from starting may be a loose starter motor cable or earth. Anyway, I'm saying wiring. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
