I forgot what this method is called, but you basically interact with your students with the language you're teaching even though they won't understand it very much (or at all). A lot of Japanese language schools in Japan do this. Apparently, it's to expose you to the language as much as possible early on.

I'm honestly intrigued at how you guys learn English. English is my second language and I mainly learned it just by figuring out what sounds right based on movies, games, etc. I don't really think (nor know) about most of the grammatical rules. They taught it at schools where I was born, but I was already speaking mostly English by then. Helped by parents who were fluent English speakers too, so they never cared what I spoke at home, and you could say that English is my "true" first language. That said when I moved to Canada I did run into difficulties. Mainly it's because while my speaking was great, my grammar was behind, and I was taught American spelling. I also spoke with an accent, or so I was told, but kids pick up the new local accent quick. My old accent still sometimes pops up when I get really excited/emotional though haha.
