Fun fact: the play on words in Kiara's last name Takanashi (小鳥遊) comes from the kanji that is used. Taka (鷹) is Hawk and nashi (なし) means none. But Takanashi is written with the kanji for little bird (小鳥 ) and play (遊). At first glance you'd think it'd be read as Kotori Asobi, which is little birds play. This be a start of a good series with the Holo JP members. It's like a complement to Kiara's HoloTalk series. Can't wait for the rest of the Holo JP members in the future. =D And Lui-chan English skills is pretty impressive.
Calli did something like this with Haachama already (ironically with a focus on bad words 😏), but she's actually planning a new eikaiwa series with 2 EN and 2 JP members per episode, so that there's a little less pressure on everyone
That Lui wants to a bridge between JP, ID and EN is super admirable, especially with the amount of work it takes to become fluent in a new language. And always good to see Calli putting her scythe-swinging expertise into practice. Great stream from both girls.
Man, this was a very wholesome pink hair stream and Lui meeting Calli was sweet. Not to mention her English is not bad, especially when she was repeating the slang Calli was bringing up lol. I think this is the first time I heard a Hololive JP member say fo sho and Lui said that brilliantly lol. In the end again, a nice and chill English stream and great job to Calli being the first EN member to team up with a Holo X member and the same with Lui for her pretty good English!
I am always not prepared on how cute this stream has been, I have this huge smile in my face the whole time! Lui's english is really cute and fluent and as always Calli's been a good teacher with them slangs fo sho! Can't wait for more collabs and interaction between these two cuties in the future!

I think once you understand that every language has a formal and casual meaning, it gets easier to understand how the language works. And it's mostly just contractions. Because when you're communicating with your peer group, you can use fewer words to express ideas. Edit: Also i love calli's boomer slang. You can tell she hasn't been stateside in awhile.

What a wholsemoe collab this was, Lui english is seriously really good, its not easy to mantain a conversation in another language. This is a great start for the Eikawa with JP and Calli can also practice japanese with her. All and all its great to see EN and JP collab together!

Going forward, it might be interesting if you ask the JP streamers to bring weird / confusing english superchats/messages they didn't understand / were confused by if they want, could be good content fodder and VERY amusing considering how bonk-able the english fans of the JP members are.

I can’t read kanji, so Takanashi could be “high pear” for all I know.

Outside of the occasional clip, this is really my first time getting to properly watch Lui. Her English is honestly really good and tbh, the way she said hawk just made my heart melt

I think what Callie was trying to say was that she's from further inland (Texas is a big place, after all). Also, and you'll know if you're from here (Houstonian myself)...our ocean water isn't the cleanest, to put it lightly.

I think once you understand that every language has a formal and casual meaning, it gets easier to understand how the language works. And it's mostly just contractions. Because when you're communicating with your peer group, you can use fewer words to express ideas.
Edit: Also i love calli's boomer slang. You can tell she hasn't been stateside in awhile.

This is a very welcome format, some very comfy and sweet content.
This is so cute and fun! Calli’s a great teacher and she makes it so entertaining. Really hope this becomes a regular series with the other JP girls, too.
Going forward, it might be interesting if you ask the JP streamers to bring weird / confusing english superchats/messages they didn't understand / were confused by if they want, could be good content fodder and VERY amusing considering how bonk-able the english fans of the JP members are.
