- Bill Wilson bought the assets of Lehigh Defense in 2022. In the same way, he built Wilson Combat into a powerhouse in firearms, he is turning the Lehigh Defense line into a force in the bullet industry. Mike Cyrus has been with Lehigh Defense since its inception 15 years ago. He has more knowledge about Lehigh Defense's products than anyone else in the World. Bill and Mike discuss Lehigh Defense's testing process and how they are able to design the best bullets on the market.

Is Massad Ayoob doin alright?
"calibrated gel". It's a shame that it looks like other UA-cam channels don't realize that the gel has to be calibrated.
Extreme Defender is just a fantastic duty or defence round.
I run your bullets in underwood 90 grain +p defense 9 mm. Plus I run the underwood extreme penetrators in my 10 mm . I am impressed by what your bullets are capable of.
Yes but did you hear Wilson mention the XD or XP rounds in this video? Answer no.
You guys should make a hardcast load with the LeHigh Defense front end flutes. You would get all the advantages of both at a lower cost since the bullets can be cast rather than machined.
Nice insight
Wilson is hardly promoting the fluted bullets he already has and hard cast bullets would be to slow for the XD design. Since he has a thing for bullets that fall apart he might offer hard cast and FMJ bullets that fall apart? LMFAO!
Lead is significantly more dense than copper. Transitioning to a different material would not be as straight forward as you think it would be and it's likely that some of the extreme consistency you get from CNC machining each projo would be lost by moving to a cast bullet. In addition to that, bullet performance is a mix of design and velocity. A slower moving hard cast bullet may not provide the same terminal performance as a faster moving copper bullet.
@@chrisoffutt8968 The problem with copper bullets is they are less dense than lead. The amount of powder in the case is reduced, meaning less velocity per bullet volume. Hence the marketing of lighter bullets at "increased velocity". A similar weight HC bullet could be driven faster than a copper bullet for that very reason. I would also wager that the consistency of flute shape in each HC bullet would be easily realized. I think the real reason the idea has not yet been widely adopted is patent infringement and the fact that the cost for all the CNC machinary would not be recouped. They would still be saleble in areas than ban lead projectiles for hunting.
I know a bullet I wish you would design. One nobody has done yet combining aspects from two different existing products.
The only special ammo for .380 period....
Please start offering Magwells for your Sig P320/P365 frame modules.
What happened to THE MAS?
Okay we will try again..........What happened to Massad?
Thank you gentlemen fantastic video
Do you test the hogs in rigor mortis status, or before or after?
Do one on how to carry in overalls!!
Against soft tissue and light game the extreme hunters do well in 10mm. I have noticed not only in video reviews but also in experience that the projectile deflects allot on hard surface impacts. Like brown bear skills. I get straight penetration with standard flat nose hard cast. I have found when the bullets hit a hard material the bullet will begin to tumble making the bullet unpredictable. I can say if I have a brown bear charging me I want to make sure it hits and breaks through efficiently. Like I said good bullets on lighter and softer targets.
This problem is solved by using the sharp cornered XP bullets that dig into flesh and bone without deflecting but you will never hear Wilson even mention the XP rounds much less try to promote or improve them.
I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Underwood does not list 'dangerous game' as a recommended use for 10mm Extreme Hunters or Defenders. The ammo choice listed for 'dangerous game' happens to be those hard cast bullets. Self defense from dangerous game is a whole different ballgame from more traditional hunting and self defense from bipedal predators.
The most viable round from Wilson combat is the flat nose 190 grain copper round. However they do not list the projectile for dangerous game either. Lead ammo continues to have the risk of being banned so we need to take seriously these copper options and if they cannot do the job. The reality is these rounds in real life do get used in bear country. So if they deflect in targets this matters for all reasons. Such as defense, hunting or dangerous game. If the 190 grain copper flat nose cannot function as well as a 200 grain hard cast against breast then it needs a redesign. I think Wilson combat just omits dangerous game for liability reasons not because it can't do it.
P365 macro module update?
I got some Sig-Sauer 124gr Elite Defense I know they work in my Micro 9mm I carry and feel safe my Para 45 LDA gitting harder to shoot and carry in that I had in it are Golden Sabers!
As a person in the drinking water industry, i would like to know if the water is distilled, deionized, hard water, soft water, water is very complex and the difference could be negligible or very appreciative, just curious.
great products. bill is a knowledgeable guy.
Interesting video. Is the billet bouncing back inside the target , or it’s just light effects?
Now THIS is interesting Lol 😂👍
Do they sell bullets or only loaded ammo?
I see LeHigh Defense and Underwood as being basically interchangeable. I have a LOT of their Extreme Penetrator loads in both 9mm and 10mm. I think that the LeHigh is a bit more expensive.
The Lehigh ammo is also weaker than the Underwood rounds. My carry load in 357 Sig, a caliber that Wilson doesn't even offer, is the 65gr XD round at 2100 + fps . Far better for SD than any pissy little 90gr 9mm XD or weak slow 115gr bullet that falls apart! LOL
Do these guys hate each other? Bill looked passed the entire video.
LOL The other guys Wilson has on these little videos all look uncomfortable, like they would rather be somewhere else but are obviously patronizing Bill and his little break apart bullets!
I've always used and will continue to have in my gen 3 glock 17 and gen4 glock 19 Speergolddot 124+p.
I would carry that instead of this fragmenting stuff.
@@kennethferguson4283haha when it comes to ammo everyone has personal preferences. What do you carry?
@@Horror_Film_Aficionado Underwood XD and Federal HST.
@@kennethferguson4283great choices. Whats your carry firearm? What do you carry concealed?
I see one major flaw with the controlled fracturing 9 mm, and that is you cannot buy the ammo, only bullets for reloading. I have found one place that carries it and they are always out of stock. Crank up the ammo machines gentlemen!
