Big difference is that Marisa works on enemy phase too. This is a hidden buff to tanks honestly. Like Nidhoggr with ECelica ring and brave support from across the map might be quite impossible to deal with in SD, as she would be able to bypass Miracle and pavise reflect damage, which are common strategies to deal with her. We'll see
@xchan99 The best way to deal with Nidhogr and all the new saves is actually windsweep. Even if she has Felicia support, there are still units that can one shot her like Legendary and Brave Chrom and others with Eff. Dmg

If you were to make a list of all piercing effects and characters, more than 80% of them would exclude AOE even those that often times come with an AOE like NY heidrun or Special Spiral 4 Of course really the only threshold necessary to survive is Emblem Sigurd AOE. Laguz Loyalty does lose the DR Piercing that Laguz Friend has so it can argued it's a sidegrade / downgrade if the unit doesn't have any form of DR Piercing in their kit
I’m not as impressed with Laguz Loyalty on second look. It loses not only the DR piercing, but the true damage of Laguz friend as well, while still receiving the self DR nerf. You get mini frozen, but is that enough to make up for it?
Unfortunately the game is hating giving out limited, special edition 5 star hero’s, getting a +10 seems in this economy un doable. In my opinion if we are spending money we should get a 5 star. Like a pack of cards, you at least get a crap rare, getting 3 star units is lame

That aside, I completely overlooked the fact that she is a great Nidhoggr counter with it's weapon type and effects. Gives me more of a reason to summon for her. Just know that I understand everyone's who's frustrated about this Byleth🙏
I'm not really upset about her being paired with Marisa, that actually makes a lotta sense considering their personalities on the battlefield, Buuut we could've had something like a Saber/Gerik Duo. Or a Greil/Gerik Duo. Or heck, replace Ike into the Duo Hero as the substitute and make a Gerik/Ike Duo. I'm happy for the Marisa fans, but good Lord could they try once to make a male duo once a year, all I ask, please?
I really don't get the Malice placement IS has. They put her after Ike. So she would never be exciting in any scenario cause Ike is Ike They gave her worse fodder than Ike. He came with 2 new skills and DBD, she came with Prime and 1 new skill in Spiked Wall. Not that these are bad skills, but compared to Ike what would you rather have. On top of having similiar enough gameplay styles, but with Ike just simply looking like a better unit overall IS should have given her a gimmick of some kind. The best thing she has going for her, is being available to take all of Ike's stuff. If you do want to get her, and merge her up. You're good if you happen to get an Ike along the way.
Malice looks similar to Ike, but plays very differently, as she has Total Dmg Reflection. Meaning she is best paired with Miracle builds capable of obliterating even save tanks.
@felicepompa938 I've yet to see a single miracle tank build that was long-term viable. So strictly speaking a worse tanking style. It's always something that sounds good only on paper, but rarely works in practice. That's why you simply don't see them around. Damage reflection is good btw, but miracle tanking is far too inconsistent.
While the long range brave support seems good, I don't feel like I absolutely need this. Perhaps I'll regret it later but my old bride Catria or duo Robin still serve me well if I really need a brave effect.
Malice with laguz can loop miracle with 100% consistency. Dodge helps survive aoes and she has innate after combat heal to loop miracle. Food for thought

With Ike, it's not 20 spd frozen effect. Each effect is half of frozen (foe or unit), so together, it is one whole frozen effect.
I don’t think you should be so low on Dodge-it’s up to 40% AoE DR. A lot of fast omnitanks would love that support.
literally 95% of units released from last year to now have at mininmum piercing, its a dud effect now

Told myself I am saving for one copy of A!Timerra. I have 90 orbs... I want that Marisa.

It targets the support partner, so you can avoid the saviour unless the support partner dies or leaves the area.
