Hey man, I just started kayak fishing in your area and I was wondering how far from the shore should you be trolling. Also, what a beautiful red snapper.
That live bait holder you have what is it name was trying to find one thanks . I got a friend coming down from Georgia and I need to catch the bait for us before he gets here .
I only use line to line knots because i always use a leader. If i tie it to a swivel i use a palomar knot because a lot of the conventional knots slip if tied with braid.
@TheLawlessTide I use diamond braid and Daiwa j briad.... 8 strand. I use the FG knot. Man, what you do looks so fun. I just get nervous in kayaks in big water. How far out will you go in a kayak. What's a safe distance in your opinion?
Hey man! Love the channel! My family just moved to Destin and my sons and I have been binging all your videos. We’re really excited to get out there and fish. Been to the pier and a few spots within Elgin AFB. My oldest and I are gonna get setup with kayaks soon. Where do u launch from to get offshore?
@@TheLawlessTide - Awesome. We fished offshore a bunch in Panama City when we were there about 8 years ago, really excited to test out the waters here.
Honestly, if your fishing, and cant unhook a shark, then dont fish, i bet you wouldnt like a hook on your lip just cause someone tried messing with you
The environment? You do realize their giant metal ships sunk all over the coast, surely you are not refferring to a #2 treble hook affecting the environment?
@@TheLawlessTide The plastic shroud on the line? I dont think your trying to create an artifical reef, so your comparison is not a great one. Leaving hooks in the side of the face of a shark is hardly saving the environment.
Dude if you’re gonna go out and fish with the possibility of catching sharks, then be prepared to take it off the hook. Don’t be a scumbag and leave it in its mouth. It ain’t coming out on its own.
Dude, there is a thing called oxidation. Dude thats the rapid deterioration of certain metal molecules by water. That hook will rust out in a couple days. Dude i guess you dont saltwater kayak fish dude. Dude i also think you ha e never handled 4 foot sharks either, because if you have you would understand dude.
When sharks are hooked with treble hooks you dont mess with them in a kayak. It can go real bad quick. King mackerel rig will rust out in a day or two. Not worth flipping the kayak, getting hooked or bit.
@@TheLawlessTide I’m an ocean kayak fisherman in Florida too, and I hate to be this guy. I know just as well as you, shit happens. It’s always easy to shit talk at the computer, but that just seemed lazy, thought it would have been incredibly easy to trim that rig down closer to its mouth. And you can test it out for yourself. A steel hook does eventually rust out, but it’s not anywhere near 2 days. Anyways. Tight lines. Not trying to be a hater. We all do weird stuff when the adrenaline is pumping and a huge animal is near the kayak. my knee jerk reaction was feeling bad for the shark living with that rig in its mouth for weeks or months.
I've had experiences that cause me to do things the way i do. If you watch my videos you will see lazy is the last thing that comes to mind. When i am kayaking alone, safety comes first no matter what.
@@TheLawlessTide I get it man. But the it’ll rust out in two days thing is a total myth. Like I said. Leave a steel hook in saltwater and see what it looks like after two days.
I’m gonna ruin your day because when I found this out, it ruined my day lmao but “offshore” isn’t technically considered until you’re a couple nautical miles out. Anything closer than that is not “offshore” and is actually “inshore”.
Bro, awesome content...you rock...
please share the link for that live bait keeper
Thanks man! torpedobaitbuckets.com
"Now let's get a grouper!" Lol. That's the optimism of a fisherman.

Thanks, for king mackerel i try to stay between a depth of 35' to 45'.
Nice mule! As usual, some funny stuff. Hate that when it happens. Keep 'em coming bro.
Thanks man!
This is a great fishing vídeo my friend. Congrats for the great work with the rod and the câmera. Have a great weekend my friend 💯👍🏻👍🏻💯
Thank you very much!
That’s about the size snapper I was catching today but I didn’t get my shark up that I had on and he took me on a long ride.
Nice Snapper ! Just a couple more weeks ! Good Job.
Thanks man!
Are you saltwater specific reels? And if not, how are you cleaning them?
red snapper was beautiful!
Thanks
Enjoyed that sir...thanks man
Thanks for watching.
Guau Monster Snaper rigth there, sweet!
Thanks!
You just need to come with us on the boat when I get there
Hi. Does your up close placement of the fish finder interfere with paddling during times that you may need to paddle?
Never had a problem
Some nice snapper getting caught off of Navarre today
👍🏻👍🏻
Great video, can you list the weather conditions?
That day we had light north winds that change to SE winds around 11am.
@@TheLawlessTide thank u
I had caught a black tip reef shark in Australia, it was about as long as me
Your kayak looks like an Old Town Predator PDL
Its the old town salty
Where did you get your live bait tube?

Thank you
Mate was the brand of the livewell your using ?
It was just a torpedo bait bucket.
That live bait holder you have what is it name was trying to find one thanks . I got a friend coming down from Georgia and I need to catch the bait for us before he gets here .
Torpedo bait tube. They can be purchased online.
Okay thanks I ordered now to find a place easy to get to for bait whether on my kayak or offshore
Any good tips for keeping the fish in front of you and it not going behinde you so your line don’t get wrapped in my net behind me
Not really, when you hook big fish they kinda go where they want and you just have to adapt.
That was a tank 😮
Not as big as the one i lost today, pretty sure.
Cool fishin brother. That was fun .
Thanks man
Awesome snapper!
Thanks!
Are you confident in that Beyond Braid... i havent enjoyed my experience with.... what knots do you use with it?
I only use line to line knots because i always use a leader. If i tie it to a swivel i use a palomar knot because a lot of the conventional knots slip if tied with braid.

You can launch from Navarre beach access, okaloosa island beach access, amd walton county beach accesses.

I have seen a guy go from 30A at the 2nd public beach access.

Great vid. Is that Navarre??
No, down towards Deetin area
Best around son
Are you just past the second sandbar?
The shark was in about 40 feet of water and the snapper was about a mile out.
What kind of pants are those?
nice b-roll footage
Thanks
Awesome 🎣
Thanks
@@TheLawlessTide always, looking forward to your next video 🎣
How far are you off shore?
Probably close to one mile
How do u like the bait torpedo thing? i heard they break easy.
The newer model is a lot more durable.
Was trying to find name and where to buy ?
@@andrewberube69 torpedo bait bucket, they have an online store
Tight

Bring live bait to catch a shark?
Shark was not the targeted species, but the huge snapper was.
😊
Good video very good information you ever see consider coming to South Mississippi to fish
Thanks!
👍
Honestly, if your fishing, and cant unhook a shark, then dont fish, i bet you wouldnt like a hook on your lip just cause someone tried messing with you
Bye bye
A long shar de-hooker wouldnt work? Seems like a poor outcome for the shark and environment on that one.
Bringing sharks aboard a kayak is a dangerous practice. It was a small treble that will rust out quickly, the shark will be fine.
