Remove the shifter cable to the transmission then zip the three 8mm bolts to the bracket gets you that needed clearance, Booster slides right out. No need for the intake to be removed.
Thanks for the vid. Not sure how you got the booster out like you did! I had to take off the upper air manifold to make enough room, not too much more work but gave me a lot more room to work with. Cheers!
I did this on a 2011 MKZ and I just bit the bullet and pulled the Plenum. I didn’t disconnect the lines and I was able to sneak it out. Just wanted to mention it if anyone else was doing the job. 3.7L engine
Just did this in the wife's mix 2011 at Ford garage. First said it's the master cylinder . I did that & it wasn't . So took it in to Ford they then said it was the booster . They replaced it the pedal still went to the floor. Then said it was the ABS HCU that fixed it but cost $2800.00 . I'm pissed told them they put on parts I didn't need 😒 . ANGRY
You are crazy if you think that take out the master cylinder and put it back and blead the whole brake system is easier than just take out the 6 bolts of the intake manifold!!

I was able to slide it right out, had plenty of room when I took the battery tray out and the air hose

They can do a smoke test on the booster and if no smoke comes out it's the abs

The 2014 models are a drive by wire. If you disconnect the positive battery cable it will supposedly erase all the data in the computer.
