Do the Forerunners vs The Warhammer 40k galaxy and War In Heaven factions.
I still think the new Republic fleet and legends was better I still think that was a great disadvantage they did for the series the neuter the new Republic like they did but they could actually bring some of their old capital ships back in we could actually get to see the full on battles we want to see and that will be really good for episode 9 it would candidate give those huge battles we heard about the legends books
No arguments there. The novelization says 'hundreds' of ships were lost, so we could be looking at 400-500 at Hosnian.
@@chrissonofpear1384 exactly which I wish we could have seen in action the whole rebel fighting for cause against overwhelming odds is kind of old
I can see having a full sector fleet guarding Hosnian Prime since it is the capital and having that be destroyed. But, come on, this is the faction that took on the EMPIRE- you know, the government that built not 1 but 2 death stars, world devastators, the galaxy gun (it's the death star but a gun), the sun crusher (it's a death star, but a snub fighter), 25,000 star destroyers, probably 50-100 super star destroyers, the Eclipse, the Eye of Palpatine, and oh my god can the Empire be any more dark and edgy? Add in cloaking tech and Spaarti cloning facility on Wayland. Yet, Legends Republic won. They beat this. They beat all of this. The Canon New Republic can't keep Ackbar from getting killed off screen.
The New Republic in the current "canon" is really awful. They're basically a non entity that ignored the galaxy's problems. Like Legends NR had issues but they at least tried.
I think the idea is the same as the Allies appeasing Hitler in the hopes it won't start another war.
It is exactly this. They were afraid of another war and it resulted in the First Order blitzkrieging the galaxy.
@@OniLink147 It was more of a "Cold War" (what the events before Hosnian prime is destroyed are called) the NR didn't have the will to make a first move and hoped the first order didn't do it either, it also didn't help they had senators bought off or blackmailed by the first order
But the First Order was a relatively small organization (at least until Last Jedi retconned that). There'd be no reason to try and ignore them when a war with them would have been easily won.
if it was realistic NR would build up there military and there would be a fucking cold war but in canon they are a bunch of wussies who want peace with a predatory and belligerent faction its like if after the korean war, south korea decided to be fairies and try to be open up to the north no that's not how it works, basically what i am trying to say is that being nice to the people you just defeated in a war is NOT a good idea especially if they are far stronger than you and you only won the previous war because of MASSIVE plot armor. rant over
I really want a huge capital ship battle like the Battle of Coruscant
I’m hoping we see a space battle like the one at the start of episode 3 in episode 9
They need to start writing their wrongs. Bring a new Jedi Order vs a new dark Jedi Order. Introduce the New Republic vs a powerful remnant threat. Raise the scale of the conflict. Start adding cool new Republic armor (I think it should be brown and blue or orange and grey for a change).
@@billclark5055 like the old republic MMO republic trooper armor?
Scott Adair
No, the New Republic doesn’t have the money or the tech nor the military capabilities to install such armor in their armies.
They New Republic is like if the Republic never had the clones come to save them during the Clone Wars, except worse.
So it would more likely be a fancier version of the Rebellion.
@@thalmoragent9344 So more like the Republic Armor in KOTOR?
Yes!!!
i just want my nebula class star destroyers back :(((
Amen. Add mc 90s as well.
They're canon in my head.
There is a sort of triangular looking ship in closeups of Hosnian prime that MIGHT be similar to one...
Me too my friend
I really want to see the new Starhawk. They keep teasing them but I want a picture.
Been wanting a video like this for a while, thanks.
I hope we get a good capital ships vs capital ships battle in Episode IX. Dinky x wings and frigates vs 30 star destroyers is just getting boring
Couldn't care less about IX. Not canon anyway
@@daleford8621 yeah i too dont see it as anon
@@nicht_beni2270 I don't see any of the Disney movies as canon. I don't care if they bought the rights to the franchise.
Grand Army of the Republic vs Imperial Army #askeck
Empire was way more militarized and had way more personnel, Republic wouldn't stand a chance
Depends the Empire was way more militaristic but their troop quality is nowhere near as good as the Clones.
@@robertagu5533 Are Stormtroopers really lower quality than clones though? Obi-Wan seemed to think highly of them in A New Hope and he served with clones during the clones wars. Also the sheer numerical superiority of the empire would be enough. Sure the clones are great but they died in the millions to inferior but high number droids. The problem that the GAR would be facing is that the clones aren't 10x better than the Stormtroopers of the Empire like they were compered to the Battle droids of the CIS.
I think he already did a video on this.
@@andrewstorey8584 Multiple people have looked into this and to paraphrase commander Cody a single clone is worth a company of stormtroopers. That's 125-150 personnel by the way.

Covenant CAS Assault Carrier vs Resurgent Class Star Destroyer
(47th try, like so eck can see!)
Well
He did the Infinity vs Resurgent, and the Infinity is way stronger than the CAS so.. but still, still interested as well
Yeah agreed you should probably do the super assault carrier
@@Benjuicyy Infinity vs Resurgent is one of Eck's worst vs vids....
Why a CAS? The CSO is 100 times more powerful
MrReyno Tanks
A dreadnought from halo vs some Star Wars star destroyer. I’m pretty sure the winner is there I’m just the title
Hopefully we get a huge fleet battle in the next movie, with various fleets from places like Corellia and Mon Calamari showing up.
This new trilogy is irrelevant. People who dont care about star wars have no say in the galaxy far far away.
If the trend continues from the last two movies, the climactic space battle between the Resistance and the First Order will consist of the Millennium Falcon making solo strafing runs against 100 Star Destroyers.
A new battle should be in Coruscant, with the good guys being the defenders
Didnt happen
@@Chiki117 it kinda did, except it was more just way to many star fighters
No half of The New Republic Fleet was getting drunk, stoned, and doing mushrooms in Happy Vale Trailer Park with Ricky, Julian, Bubbles, and Conky. Yet in reality is Mon Cal, Sluis Van, and Sullust still there? Eckhart do you ever find it a Cliche that it always ends up like this? I mean wouldn't it be nice to have one movie where The New Republic/Resistance has an equal footing with The Empire/First Order(Loathe to call it that name).
That's the OT. The Separatists were faced by a powerful Republic clone army.
@@wintersnoob the Seperatists could have been more powerful than in canon if it wasn't for Palpatine controlling both sides though. The Republic was so inexperienced that they lost more battles than they won in the initial stages of the war and led by people that are more suited to small squads or infiltration
@@controbot2557 I agree. Without the Jedi, the Republic would have been crushed.
I honestly thought the entire fleet was destroyed as well when I saw the Force awakens. However, the Empire was defeated and the New Republic became the dominant superpower in the galaxy. So how could that be their entire fleet, since there are still important planets that are protected by the New Republic today?
I hope not, we need new Fleet Battles
I think that the new republic in cannon sucks and should've been like the legends new republic, especially considering how they know what happened to the old republic
Created a gigantic military the answered to a single person who than used it to over through any sort of democratic independence in the galaxy? Yeah they did that by getting rid of any military capable of conquering the galaxy.
@@sgcandrewkard well no,there was a reason why it fell onto one person in the first place, because there was no formal army
Not having an army and being a peace maker is very hard and not good really. And having a functioning military would've helped them in the long run instead of being idiots
Although, the canon New Republic lasted a bit longer than its legends counterpart, so I’d say they did something right.
Okay but the senate is comprised of multiple different systems who at the time of it's formation just got done being ruled over by a galactic army. Why would these planets yet again place all their power into an army that COULD be once again utilized for evil. Instead of just concentrating on building their own defense forces like is hinted at in the new novels.
Saying that they needed a fleet to keep peace only makes sense if they know what we know as viewers. That in 30ish years time a new threat would emerge. Why would they need a fleet powerful enough to defend the galaxy, if the entire galaxy was at peace and part of this new government. The old republic seemed to chug along perfectly fine without a massive standing army until a sith lord came around to mess it up.
Like the threat they just got done taking out wasn't from without it was from within. All the systems that banded together to remove the emperor from power were the ones that GAVE HIM THAT POWER. So to them the only way to stop a threat like the emperor from happening again is to remove the capability of a single person ever wielding that kind of power again. Whether you think that is a smart political move is up to you. However I think it is very realistic and has a lot of foundation in World history of similar things happening. Look at the US revolution than the articles of confederation that followed.
Yes, they do know what happened to the previous republic. They know that it militarized to fight a war, won the war and then never demobilized. The Galactic Republic died specifically and as a direct result of the fact that it DIDN'T demilitarize once the threat was over. The Canon New Republic leaders did everything in their power to make sure that didn't happen again, and probably went too far overboard, but their knowledge of in-universe history encouraged that behavior, not discouraged it.
“Was the entire New Republic fleet destroyed by Starkiller base?”
I was unaware that they had a fleet in the first place.
When will the galaxy understand that demilitarizing is not a good idea
Can we have Natasi Daala back. The fine red head imperial who almost screwed Luke and his entire new Jedi Order at Yavin 4 in Legends ! She was something to handle but when she was on your side and respected you, she was indispensable. Sure, she shitted on Luke's Jedi Order on Coruscant later but she still was the best leader they needed at the time. Dude, there's a lot that they need to do bro. And tbh, they should leave TOR and before it (3600 BBY - 25000 BBY) alone and just adapt it into Canon. Like, there's no reason to butcher it. Nothing back then even really affects the future !
Because they just had a dictatorship arise and proceed to cause the deaths of millions upon millions because the previous republic never demilitarized. Also the NR isn't the only fish in the pond. You have a plethora of independent systems with their own fleets, an imperial Remnant state and a Neo CIS.
I cant get how would the new republic even get demilitarization because they didnt crush the empire they were still out there i would think the population of the galaxy wouldnt even allow the senate to be demilitarized.
@@pjmetzen3483 Actually, the events leading to the creation of the Galactic Empire included a massive demilitarization. That's why it took an act of the Senate to establish a new Grand Army of the Republic.
It actualky is, it took 1000 years to the Old Republic to disappear after the demilitarization, and it disappeared after its militarization.
In the case of the New Republic it was indeed quite stupid, because of the presence of the Empire Remnants and the First Order. But despite that it is quite frequent that the new regime decide to do exactly the opposite of the old regime, the Empire was heavily militarist and centralized, so the New Republic had to be heavily pacifist and decentralized.
The last time I was this early the New Republic was still a militarized ass-kicking force.
The vid should be called “why Disney just killed off a potential space battle scene”
I was looking forward to two things in episode 7, awesome StarWars graphics, and the New Republic.
JJ Abram's broke my heart far more than Rian Johnson ever could have.
In my head: The New Republic Military is a fraction of the Galactic Republic Clone Army. The First Order Military is smaller than the NR's (But far superior in technology). But there is enough military force to reclaim the most populated areas of the galaxy. That gives you an idea of how big it is. Some of the fleet did survive the destruction and what's left was relocated to protect surviving senator homeworlds. By the time of Episode IX there will be either no fleet remaining or 1 fraction will exist and will join with the new Resistance.
This seems about right. Plus, Mon Mothma supposedly wanted individual planets to begin defending themselves and each other with their own forces.
There is still some remnant of the New Republic fleet, UNLESS those ships that survived Starkiller base attack were later destroyed by the First Order, the Republic negotiated its surrender and relinquished all remaining ships to the First Order, or the New Republic was simply foolish and had no naval forces deployed anywhere, not even for patrols or military exercises.
The biggest problem in the universe is that nobody helps each other!
Maybe the anti empire alien world's will help the ressistance
Really curious to see what episode 9 is gonna do in this regard.
Would also love to see a massive capital ship battle in episode 9.
I really hope there is something remaining of the new republic.
I was hoping for that too but don't get our hopes high, they said the resistance has been beaten up until they were forced to commit into guerrilla warfare, I doubt there'll be capital ships hammering each other..
I'm sure JJ will pull capital ships out of his butt. How else would he remake Return of the Jedi?
If I was a betting man I'd go all in on this outcome.
100% though their will be a big fleet battle despite their entire fleet of five ships being destroyed. Seriously Disney Star Wars sucks a** at least the only down side of George Lucas's prequal movies is that they were all about the politics, which actually made sense.
I felt this in my soul
This comment made me laugh so hard it woke up my wife in the other room!
Yeah cause everything now is supposed to be a remake to people like you.
If the UNSC had a bunch of the Infinity class ships lying around, then they'd probably have better luck against the Yuzang Vong. Although I feel that the UNSC would probably respond better than the New Republic to the Yuzang Vong first arriving. Instead of leaving them alone, they'd probably be super careful and on guard since the last time an unknown alien species showed up, humanity almost went extinct.
I find it strange that galactic governments would consolidate their forces around obvious targets. I know this is the Pearl Harbor cliche we see constantly in fiction but I sympathize with Eck on this, legends was more logical. The EU/legends had fleets divided and had mass numbers of task force and manageable forces that came from system, sector, and regional forces. If there is a sizable fleet anywhere in the galaxy after the loss of the capital it will probably be near Mon Cal. That way any competent leaders would/should organize quickly around a strong position. I ask Eck, do you see a potential leadership rift between new fleet and army commanders who survived and the old experienced rebel alliance leadership?
Total headcanon, but I remember reading that the Republic Senate wasn't a full-time body, they'd meet a few times a year. It could be that the fleet would be present heavily at the capital as security and also for propaganda purposes to show off the fleet while the senate was in session. After the destruction of Hosnia Prime the First Order blitzed the main naval bases and industrial worlds for the Republic like Mon Cala or Corellia and used their hyperspace trackers to hunt down the Republic navy's hidden rally and fall back positions, which would likely sow further confusion as individual commanders become paranoid at the prospect of saboteurs and spies among their ranks causing the Republic fleet survivors to scatter even further. Sorry for the dissertation dump.
You cannot simply blitzed the Galaxy between the short time frame between TFA and TLJ. Remember they were far away from the Unknown region.
And there are no indications that the FO has a presence in the Core
And they will to get pass/conquer most of Outer Rim and Mid Rim before reaching the Core World, like the Mandalorians and then Darth Revan had to in the past.
Granted there is little chance they could conquer the galaxy in that short of a time frame, but hear me out, if the objective is not to take and hold territory but just to dismantle the Republic military in preparation for the actual invasion you could pull it off. You just have to destroy or cripple enough of the Republic and remaining loyalist worlds fleet and infrastructure (communications, ship yards, fuel depots, repair facilities, etc) to give your fleet stellar superiority over any enemy forces. Still a long shot but it is possible.
I'll take this opportunity to reiterate a point I have made before: The 90% demilitarization the New Republic implemented was eliminating 90% of the Rebel Alliance's maximum, galaxy-spanning-war-fighting strength (backed by over a year of overt support from thousands of systems). Keeping that entire fleet would have been enormously expensive (especially over the next 30 years) and many of those ships were modified civilian craft and weren't built for a unified supply chain. The sensible thing for them to do would be to sell off or scrap most of the converted vehicles and keep a relatively small core of elite, purpose-built warships, capable of taking on an Imperial fleet or two. As the decades went on and it became clear that no fleet capable of challenging them existed, they could parse the capital ships down a bit further. We know that new types of frigates and fighters were produced, which would be both much cheaper than heavy capital ships and a much better fit for the type of route-patrolling, anti-piracy missions the fleet would actually be performing. Clearly the Home Fleet was overly centralized, but it was only a problem because the First Order had a destroy-a-star-system-from-the-other-side-of-the-galaxy weapon, which the Republic had no reasonable way of knowing about.
For the record, after World War II, the United States military cut its personnel by about 90% in just two years, so there is definitely real-world president for a victorious democratic power sending the troops home. Tends to be popular in election season as well.
Thank you so much for making a video about this. If we don't have any New Republic presence in IX, I'd say it's because of poor story telling by Disney. No governmental or military faction in charge of an entire galaxy is going to have a single defense fleet located in one system.
Basically, the New Republic is the Allies after WW1, with the concordance acting as both a Treaty of Versailles and Washington Treaty, accepting the surrender of Imperial galactic authority, and limiting the fleet size and certainly what size ships could be. Of course the First Order comes along, break these treaties and the New Republic tries to get by with appeasement, resulting in a combination of the invasion of Poland and the Pearl Harbour attack with Starkillers attack and the subsequent occupation of New Republic territory. Now if they follow this trend in episode 9, the New Republics ship building will be going into overdrive and supersizing or maximising their designs.
Another fantastic video Eck. It would be great to see this factionalism represented in episode 9, or perhaps a future animated series, with some powers resisting the First Order, some becoming galactic contenders themselves, and some joining the resurgent Empire
0:10 My man!
I hate when a writing staff actively avoids the potential for epic battles. Not every battle has to be against absolutely overwhelmingly odds to be cool. The good guys can win in a satisfying way without the main characters doing everything themselves.
Though I’m not planning to see IX right now, things like even a solid acknowledgement that the war has gone galactic would go a little ways towards convincing me to reconsider.
This. I don't have a problem with the tested formula of the heroic resistance against impossible odds, but it's not like big, powerful sides having a more even war can't be made into thrilling drama. Just look at how obsessed we remain to this day with World War 2, and neither side there were exactly pushovers.
Do The clone army versus the first order
The Dark Spartan is that even an question?
The First Order couldn't destroy a single, crippled, retreating Mon Calamari Cruiser despite having 20 Star Destroyers, a Mega Star Destroyer, and several fleets of Tie Fighters and Bombers......
Comic52 Chaihal It’s a recommendation for a video
The Clones would bitch slap the FO... without even getting up from the table while drinking their beer
It's really just someone recommending an idea for a video not an order
Plus the clones of the republic during the clone wars would have won mostly, why a long list but I will say I'm not a 100% they would won all the time
What about the mon calamari wouldn’t they have a decent fleet protecting their system
Id be legit pissed if they dont have any possible viscounts or modernized ships by episode 9
Yes! I've been hoping for the viscount to appear in episode 9, like a secret New republic project that got cancelled but then re-started following the Hosnian Cataclysm.
You know how to make good videos and not put 20 ads in a single video. Good job. I’m glad to be subbed.
Maybe we’ll see remnants of the new republic fleet show up in Star Wars resistance? Would love to finally see a starhawk or maybe even the nebula/ endurance class or a viscount.
NEEEE
"Not even the New Republic has that many fleets."
-- Kaz, referring to a star map showing dozens of First Order fleets.
This to me say that the New Republic has have at least a decent number of auxiliary fleets spread through out the galaxy. Although given the NR's demilitarized state these are likely smaller patrol and anti-piracy fleets.
I mean, it took a beating from the Yuuzhan Vong, and the reborn Emperor gave it a run for it's money. Don't know anything about a "Starkiller Base" or "First Order". Sounds like bad fanfiction. : P
Diana Barnett oh, fancy seeing you here lmao
Yuuzhan Vong was a weird wacky idea but atleast it was new. Otherwise I'd say Legends is mostly glorified fanfiction for the more encyclopedically interwoven fanbase. It completely dismisses the Joseph Campbell induced mythical storytelling of the originals.
Came from the Rise of Skywalker D23 special look! I'm very excited to see what they do with the remnant forces in EP9 especially in the scene with all those Order star destroyers. I know for damn well sure that they aren't gonna rely on just a few snub fighters, light corvettes, and the force to destroy the fleet. I just came to reassure myself that the New Republic Fleet hasn't ALL been destroyed. Happy hunting ladies and gents, and may the force be with you.

THIS AGED WELL
Ships that, as you say Eck, were set aside by the New Republic would most likely be placed in either reserve or mothballs. Reserve vessels are newer model ships that can be brought up to battle standards relatively quickly. The reserve can even be divided into a active and inactive reserve, with vessels in the active reserve needing little more than consumables, crew, and minor repairs to prep them for battle. Inactive reserve ships will require more work, but would still be relatively easy to bring up to operational status. Mothballed ships are usually older ships that have come from the inactive reserve, and will generally need more work before they are ready to fight. Mothballed ships can also include unfinished hulls that were placed in storage instead of being finished.
I've stopped trying to add logic to Disney's Star Wars, whatever they're expected to do, they end up doing the exact opposite
How so?
I dont think I'm going to watch episode 9 in theaters but I really hope they make the New Republic get its act together. The way they've neutered it is dumb and I hope they fix it
Why does this sound like a lazy attempt to not designing new ships?
More like a lazy attempt to not design a new plot besides 'plucky rebels vs galaxy spanning empire'
Great video eck!!!!
We don't even know how many of the world's that actually have militias are going to side with the resistance. there was this arc in the poe Dameron comics where the blue Squadron had been sent out to gather allies, what the first planet they went to to ask for help tricked them into wiping out Insurrection that was planing side with the first order but when in reality they wanted to side with the resistance and blue squadron at the end of the issue find out that they had just been tricked by the ruler that he was planning to surrendered the first order, the next world that blue squadron ends up going to they barely defeat the first order insurrection on the plant.
Not a bad arc, but I wanted to see Mon Calamari, or even the Virgilians.
#askEck (Informal Question) What is the Laser-Cowboy video that you occasionally use in the background? What about the other awesome videos that aren't from the movies/Battle of the Dreadnaughts? I've seen some of them used in other places, and would love to actually watch the full videos!

@@theoncomingdork Thanks! For anyone wondering, the link is ua-cam.com/video/NuNvCOUy1Ts/v-deo.html
I was so confused when this happened
I have always wanted to see an absolutely MASSIVE battle. So many large capital ships shooting at each other, ramming each other, exciting dogfights, and on the ground is a full scale battle, with dogfights. And on board one of the commanding ships is an epic lightsaber and soldier battle to see will claim the ship, and the planet. But Disney was all like: Naw, fans aren't gonna like that.
Hey Eck, been a viewer for a while and I love your content; keep it up! my question of the day is about star wars sheilds. I know you have a video on that but there is still an aspect that is unclear to me so I thought I'd ask. My question is how do ships in star wars fire weapons and launch fighters when their shields are up? Do they open gaps in them like halo or are the shields just down at that point? #AskEck
I’d say a majority of the Canon New Republic’s fleet was destroyed at Hosian Prime. But I do think there’s remnants of the Canon New Republic fleet out there in the known galaxy. I do hope that the remaining Canon New Republic fleet does join Leia’s Resistance.
3:37 where the hell is that footage from ?
The very least I am hoping for is some new capital ship designs, like maybe nebulas, new Mon Cal types, and finally seeing what a starhawk looks like.
Tiny Elephant I wanna see what the nebulon k looks like
#askEck
Do you think that the flood from halo could stand up to the Protomolecule from the Expanse?
Really hope to see some venators make an appearance. Whether they be old retired versions loaded with xwings that the new republic is resorting to or some upgraded ones that could have been used as system defence ships from private fleets that are beefed up to ISD standard
This is why you don’t base your entire fleet in one harbor/solar system. Especially in a universe with super weapons.
Do a Yuuzhan Vong invasion of Fluidic Space and war against Species 8472(the Undine)! Try 183.
I'm with you Eck, a large-scale space battle would be awesome to see in EPIX, especially with all the possibilities of the variety of capital ships and fighters we could see.
I for one would love to see some old Republic and Separatist era ships, something to bring the prequels into the sequels on the big screen - and plus we know certain factions were supplied with at least some CW era ground vehicles and fighters...why not throw in a Venator or Providence? I think that and a unique combination of imp and not yet seen new republic ships and fighters would make the perfect all or nothing space battle!
40k please
we need it
Get the bloody Mandalorians on to the big screen to fight the First Order with the Resistance/New Republic, the mandalorians history against major powers tells us that they give them a run for their money and hopefully seeing them fight the First Order will be one of the coolest moments in my opinion ever.
A rebel fleet composed of old home one types, nebulon cruisers, super star destroyers, and many more old gcv erra ships would be such an amazing thing to see on screen in a space battle!!!!
Only 2 days but I missed you man
Why is Star Wars: The Clone Wars CN animated series so great? I loved that various battles and elements could be told in between Episodes II and III, even hinting towards Anakin's dark future; and at the very end of the series Yoda is able to learn from Qui Gon Jin how to live though the force after death and ending the series with the Battle of Coruscant beginning Episode III. Please upvote this I would love to hear from Eckharts regarding this.
The fact that they made them so underpowered hurts. Everything In the sequels feels underpowered or “nerfed” from what the old canon used to be
Except supremacy
It’s like they were actively trying to avoid the possibility of big, epic battles.
Does that mean, it's possible for the resistance to use Venator star destroyers in episode 9
Highly unlikely. Those will be the worse capital ship to have against the FO armada
Venators are too old.
@@CaptainM792 Well I figured that, the resistance would be in a desperate position and would take anything that flys and shoots. Also the Venator's greatest assist is that it's a Carrier.
Basically with hyperspace tracking it becomes imperative to disguise the movement of ships, by launching and retrieving fighters from hyperspace 1 makes the F.O think that there more rebel bases than there are, a tactic the Japanese used in ww2 with drop tanks. 2 it frees up space in the more modren ships for weapons supplies etc. 3 it has some anti ship capability unlike a pure carrier even the first order drew inspiration from the venator when designing the resurgence. But you got somethings right it is older and it's weapons are underpowered compared to it's contemporaries, it could be remedied with a escort fleet and or upgrades, as there still nebulon b's still floating around the Galaxy as depicted in Battlefront 2 in this era. So I figured why not the venator, and one other thing I kind of like the way it looks, so yeah
Your question on this video brought up a good idea for a video, well to me. How would the Imperium(40k) do against a Vong(Star Wars) invasion?
Can you please do witch sci fi faction has the best planetary weapon QEP precours (Subnautica) Ion cannon rebels (Star Wars) Mass driver UNSC (Halo)
Agree with you 100%
Don't forget the Hypervelocity cannon!
And planetary turbolasers
Thanks for the support guys I am not including the planetary turbo lasers because I want to keep it to one per franchise
Love the vids😁
Your observations are the same as mine. There are enough scraps available for EPIX or NEU to have a major naval battle or have systems free of FO control. Not sure what direction JJ went with EPIX though.
I am happy to see this video because I’m tired of inaccurate comments claiming there are only 20 left in the entire galaxy to resist the FO.
Carrack-class cruisers are now officially canon too so I'd love to see one on screen.
I hope the outer rim allies are mandalorians
I wonder if there are also Gungans, Sullustans, other humans, Bothans, Twi'leks, or Mon Calamari. Maybe even Zabrack, Quarren, or Rodian.

Also, we really, REALLY need to feel like the Resistance has any sort of chance, because right now we've seen they're down to about 40 people and one ship.
Reapers (Mass effect) vs the Flood (Halo).
Flood easily.
The Son of Suns not necessarily because the reaper are mechanical beings not organic
@@windex9248 Reapers are partially organic aren't they?
Ah man now there's a rendered fight I'd wanna see, Vong General VS a Spartan 2
Stuff about 40K ships would be very cool
I want to say about the UNSC vs Yuuzhan Vong, I think an advantage pre and post UNSC would have is their MAC guns. While it may seem a little odd, I think the heavier mass of the rounds in comparison to say, turbolasers would initially give a huge advantage until the Vong learned to counter them. As Dovin Basals would have to put a much larger amount of power into shielding to actually catch the round compared to possibly only altering the MAC rounds trajectory somewhere else into the hull. Pre war UNSC MACs were meant for piercing heavy armor without any thought of shields, much like Vong ships. Post war UNSC use very different MACs and rounds, lighter rounds so MACs can fire several in quick succession. Combine either with AI, that could potentially predict how the dovin basals would interact with the MAC rounds. My personal belief is that initial Vong invasions would be stonewalled, but later fights would see the UNSC knocked back on their heels.
#askeck Eck, could you discuss some of the differences in Hyperspace between Legends and Canon. In Legends, gravity wells seem to play a large role in plotting hyperspace routes, hyperspace interdictions, etc. However, in Canon, ships have been able to jump nearly directly into a planet (ex: the Falcon jumping to Starkiller Base).
Literally all I want is a space battle like in episode 3
Is it also possible that clone wars era weapons, and ships be used against the first order
Seeing possible captain ships going against each other would be good in saga films
As they forgot about every single thing that happened in Force Awakens, the SW IX will suffer from amnesia towards The Last Jedi. So, there are no "Outer Rim Allies" comming. They just don't remember about that line in the movie anymore :)
Video Idea.
The New Republic (both version) Ground Forces, and their vehicles.
It would be a very short video, the real (legends) NR would crush this canon "NR" in 30 min.
Ok so the new republic went back to the system defense concept. But the fleet at hosnian prime wants their only one. They mainly used old rebellion ships and some new models like mc85s and 95s and nebulous c frigates. If your here after the rise of the resistance has already been opened then you now that fleet came from the mon calamari and other supporters. As far as we’ve seen the resistance fleet(which uses old and new ships) it has four types of cruisers and many other ships-
2-MC95s (the ones eck called mc80s)
1-liberty type mc80
1-home one type mc80
1-mc85
4-nebulous c
4-free Virgilia bunkerbusters
2-cr90s
1-sphyrna class corvette(hammerhead corvette)
3-vakbeor class frigates
1-imperial super tanker fuel depth
1-imperial raider corvette
I would love to see a reborn mandalorian state begin to fight the first order maybe see some Kandosii-class Dreadnoughts restored or rebuilt
Another outer rim ally could potentially be the New Separatist Union. I'm assuming they probably had a decent sized navy, but the manor difference is that they aren't some old, rag tag ships, or new republic leftovers, they're an intact, and fully fledged galactic government who could fight the first order.
I want the galaxy to come together to fight for a single cause. Imagine if the Yuuzhong Vong became a thing in canon?
Imagine you're the first order and just as you're about to kill all the rebels and then out of nowhere your allie Kuat driveyards pops out of hyperspace and starts kicking your ass with the ships you ordered.
Which is better the the spartan program or the clones special forces, and who would win in a head to head or platoon style of fight?
@EckhartsLadder Where does the Imperial bridge scene @ 3:55 or so come from? A game or movie or?
I should have listened to the whole part before asking.. its apparently from some theme park ride.. guessing disney? he says it.
For the UNSC i would say it depends on the Spartans if you have a bunch it could change the tied the jedi couldn't go all out on the the vong but spartans have different weapons i dont know the effects of ray guns on the Vong but it worked wonders for the covenant
0:20, yep yep, Your next dental appointment will be in two weeks.
Hey #askEck have you considered reading and then covering the Lost Fleet series? It offers up a lot of material for use in battle breakdowns especially, considering how the battles are set in rear-realism with time dilation, great distances and maneuvers.
The big space battle is going to be the First Order Vs The New Republic/Resistance also maybe the New threat the Beyond?
This is great and all having old ships return to active service with the New Republic might actually be doing something besides getting blown up by J.J’s Interpretation of Star Wars, but will we be seeing any of this in RSW? Or any decent ship battles at that? It’s great Johnson isn’t gonna be involved but I’m still skeptical.
Yet the Poe Dameron comics, the only source so far that has gone past episode VIII, shows without a sliver of a doubt that the Resistance is limited to a single Starfighter squadron.
It sucks but it is what it is. Although admittedly, it doesn't deny the possibility of the Sector Fleets, only New Republic Fleet.
I want to see Starhawks and other NR ships in a space battle above Crait. Leia's allies trying to break the First Order's fleet but only the Falcon could pass through
Home One itself is still around and A lot of MC80's.Maybe we will finally get to see what a StarHawk Battleship looks like.
I hope to see the resistance fleets possibly lead by those 3 Super Star Destroyers!!!
I would love to see a refitted Super Star Destroyer.
I still can't wrap my head around how a single Super Star Destroyer and, like, 12 Star Destroyers can threaten the entire galaxy wherein the entire galaxy is populated by countless worlds with their own fleets of capital ships.
I just wanna see Executors duke it out with Resurgents. That's the only thing I could possibly look forward to in episode 9
