- Well the issues are fixed and the car is running like new (ish).
After removing the tank yet again I take a look at both fuel sender units and also another look at the imploded fuel tank.

Thanks for watching and enjoy :)
projectforduk Well done on sorting out the fuelling issue with the car.
David Marshall thanks. Been a pain in the arse but I got there. I have been out in the Fiesta today and it's running spot on.
projectforduk With a car like this I would always use OEM parts. That way there shouldn't be any problems, although never say never.
Was was the cause of the tank imploding. As I’ve gotta buy a new klic one an£ I’m worried If the tanks are crap
It was a vacuum issue mate. There is a trickle valve under the passenger rear wheel arch that i had to disconnect :)
Thanks for info. I know the trickle valve thing your talking about
I've got the same sender unit in my XR2i 8v but can't find no one who stocks it also got the same tank with the plastic tray inside please could you send me the part number for the smaller sender cheers

@@projectfearn This is such a long shot but you don't still have the sender unit you removed by any chance?
No pal. I sold it a few weeks after taking it out 😎
@@projectfearn thought I might have been way too late! Appreciate the reply. Would you recommend anywhere that might have one because I'm drawing a blank at the moment going through Google's classic ford parts search?
