Rebekah Del Rio: Nobody's Angel / Llorando @ WEA!

- Rebekah Del Rio brings the room to a standstill with her breathtaking singing at the 25th Anniversary WEA Convention. Performing "Nobody's Angel" with the legendary singer/songwriter Randy Sharp on guitar, she followed that with "Llorando", a spellbinding Spanish a cappella version of Roy Orbison's song "Crying". This performance was before Ms. Del Rio's epic performance of the song in David Lynch's film "Mulholland Drive" and was during the country phase of her deeply moving and storied career. The introduction to Ms. Del Rio's set gives fascinating insight into how she got her short lived country record deal with Giant Records in Nashville and the underrated genius of this most phenomenal woman. Due to a tragic car accident where she was rear ended by an elderly gentleman while waiting at an intersection, her career was temporarily sidelined as she underwent rehabilitation, causing her soon to be opening spot on a tour to be cancelled. To add to the tragedy, her country label Giant changed leadership, causing her $500,000 finished record (which included Nobody's Angel) to get permanently shelved where it is collecting dust somewhere in a Nashville vault. However, with the magic of UA-cam, her brilliant performance and voice from her time in Nashville can shine for the world to see! On an end note, Ms. Del Rio has since fully recovered and has focused her incredible talents to other genres of music such as Latin Jazz and World.
I believe this woman has the best voice I've ever heard. Chills all the way thru both songs.
agree
@@SophiahKoikasWindyQueen Magnificent voice. May I recommend Yasmin Levy?
It's impossible for me to listen to Rebekah sing "Llorando" without it breaking my heart. I don't understand a word of Spanish, but the sad melancholy in her voice takes me apart every time.
I have loved Rebekah Del Rio since her very beautiful/disturbing performance of Crying in the movie Mulholland Drive many years ago.
I was in US NAvy, stationed in Kuwait, and I watched the movie Mulholland Drive, was freaky, I have seen it several times sine and I am still not sure, but the One thing I was sure of was this womans voice! I never forget and I still share
just the fact you saw this in Kuwait blows my mind, but, yes, this is a highlight of the movie and when "she" falls on the stage to me is the point of the movie....anyway...heavenly song. Llorando.
She has a Patsy Cline vibe to her voice that's really beautiful. What an amazing talent! She should be a big star by now!
OMG where have I've been ha ha ha - I've fallen madly in love with Miss Del Rio, can't wait to check out more of her music :-)
I love they way she sings Llorando...such a beautiful voice!
She's fabulous. Her singing reminds me much of Linda Rondstadt.
yes
I'm so blown away by the control this woman has over her voice.
She's slightly unusual in the sense that she sounds MORE ethnic when she sings than when she speaks.
She's just extraordinary. Her voice is so smooth.
What an incredible voice and tragic circumstances. Yes, thank you UA-cam again as well for providing a vehicle for great music..
she's perfect
Hermosa voz y cuando hablas Español, Te amo Rebeca!
Her voice is straight from Heaven!
Wow! There are few female voices I enjoy listening to, this is definitely one I love! She has such power yet can bring it down to a whisper. Thanks for posting!

es increible,no hace falta mas acompañamiento a la cancion que su voz!
simplemente genial!
Love her!!! first found out bout her in MULHOLLAND DRIVE and been a fan ever since....and she made me proud to be an American when she sang The Star Spangled Banner in SOUTHLAND TALES
saw the film, she has the strongest raw emotion in her voice. I hope to hear more and hope she is well.I am a fan now, in the film she was so strong on stage...pure talent

wow the crowd didn't go too crazy there, that was an awesome performance.
Just exquisite.
The information on this song has been updated to explain the sidelined part. Thanks for the interest.
que voz...
glad i found this channel..
thanks!
she's amazing. seriously. to sing that rich and full of emotion completely a capella, it's rare. the performance (of llorando) would actually be less good if it was accompanied...
Been a fan since MuIlholland. I hope at some point someone will get her to do a Patsy Cline biography. Her first song makes me think she would do an excellent job.
now I remember her singing World music. Bladerunner ? She sings a capella in a mournful , Middle eastern fashion on several films, in dramatic or surreal scenes.
GRANDE WEA
