Super Rich Kids is one of the best storytelling songs I've ever listened to. Truly tragic yet beautiful lyrics about the rarely empathized with kids of millionaires who are raised on meaningless superficiality instead of the "real love" that Frank so desperately sings about.
One of my favorite things about Frank is his ability to transform the feelings of nostalgia, childhood, and summer all into one song effortlessly. Nobody does it better than him imo
Earl Sweatshirt wrote a lot of that song too when he was just a teenager
Crack rock is also a story teller about a someone using crack and how it impacts others and themselves really sad

And yeah its hard to choose between Channel Orange and Blonde i prefer Blonde solely because im a young adult whos been struggling alot with love and heartbreak and I use songs like White Ferrari, Self Control and Godspeed to get over shit. Channel Orange is too bright for me recently . Both are masterpieces tho

I highly recommend listening to the Saturation Trilogy by BROCKHAMPTON. The most consistently amazing 3 albums I’ve listened to! All three are a different experience!

Jon can you PLEASE listen to Endless by Frank Ocean? It was a visual album released right before Blonde so Frank can get out of his contract with Def Jam. It was under the radar for a while until a few months back he released the CD quality of the album.

it’s really cool that you’ve come to a point of almost instant understanding, appreciation, and even connection to some rap and rnb stuff when the premise of your youtube career was initially trying to do so with a firmly rock and metal oriented taste
Probably my favourite album of all time. It's truly perfect in every sense... and yet, it keeps getting better with every listen. It's the only album I can never tire of, even after 8 years. To see you react to it in that fashion brought it all back for me to when I first heard it.
Frank is a once in a lifetime artist.
If you listened to channel ORANGE first, you'd think Blonde is better lol. Not your fault. Both masterpieces. Think Blonde is objectively more musically evolved though. But that's just me.
Nah I listened to channel orange first, and I definitely prefer channel orange, even though blonde made me cry (self control) and still does, both masterpieces though and are both in my top ten albums of all time
definitely. channel orange is a great album, but blonde is something else. its like, its own beast. its so ahead of its time it STILL sounds fresh.

I made it. It’s always incredible seeing other people listen to music you love, especially Frank’s stuff because you know exactly those feelings from when you first heard it too. You know how powerful and evocative his art is and it draws you to reaction videos just so you can have the gratification of reliving that irretrievable moment vicariously through the UA-camr. Frank Ocean’s music changed my life at the most meaningful time, and while I know that many people had different experiences than I did, it truly let me grasp the power and significance of music as the art form of the people.

the fact that monks might be the weakest track on the album, but when you´re not really paying attention when playing the album on shuffled you still sing along to it, just shows the level of this whole masterpiece
In my opinion, crack rock or Sierra Leone are probably the weakest on the album, but they’re still amazing songs, there are no skips on channel orange

This is one of the few if not the only one of these 30 minute reaction videos floating around that I watched in its entirety, this is such a genuine reaction. I discovered rock reacts a few days ago and watched some of those videos but tbh the other dudes reactions felt so faked, he kinda gave me some psycho vibes. Now Jon is someone id have a drink with, super genuine reaction to a masterpiece of an album
its over 80f degrees in my room and i still get chills from this album. and I listened to it every single day for a year when it came out. it doesn't get old
