We have one of those locks - batteries only last about a month in it right now. They replaced the circuit board once under warranty, but that didn't fix the issue. I'm replacing with a LatchIt lock now, but was thinking of wiring it into the coach's battery. I'm curious to see how the "folding in the doorjam" works after a while. I've been thinking of the door hinges which have wires built in for security systems or possibly 3D printing something to guide the wire. Thanks for the idea of pushing through the foam door!
Just bought the same lock for my Arctic Fox 811. It has been pretty stock up to this point, but I am fixin to live in it on the road half the year. So I installed a Ring Security System and just added the RVlock today. with all the upgrades. I need to start mapping out all my 12v contact points just like you just did on this video. I subscribed to your channel, I am all about modifications when they make sense. Good job with this one.
Good Job, I always wondered why they could not offer a remote lock that tied into my front chassis doors so all the locks could act as a central lock powered by the one remote and vehicle battery? I guess that's what I get with 2014 technology. BTW did you know you can save the wear and tear from pushing the combo buttons while locking, Yes, just push and hold the lock button without any code, it will lock!
That is amazing work. Really well done. We've had our lock for almost a year and batteries are still good but for those that just it constantly this is a great solution.
Brilliant!! Great job!! I'm curious....I have seen a few different videos with the RV lock brand which is the same one I have...everyone puts the code in to lock the door, I must have a special one, because I just push and hold the lock button down and it locks just fine....I only need the code to unlock it
Great idea. My only concern would be to come back to a dead camper because we accidentally left lights on or something and not be able to get in without a key.
Charles, did you do this mod due to short battery life issue? I have the V4 RVLock and the batteries lasted about 8 months. Then it started going thru batteries in about 2 weeks - even Energizer Lithiums. I really want o make this lock work but it continues to eat batteries even after parts have been replaced by RVLock...
If this solution included batteries being recharged in case power loss is an issue it would be perfect. Still great work. Cable folding won’t stay like that forever though.
LOL, tooooo much time on your hands you cheap bastard. and after the door catches the wire after a while, your rig is gonna short and catch fire! all for the savings of 4 AA batts. some people, SMFH. Thanks for the great vid lol
Well, you slick SOB! Excellent job!

Yes that’s our quick-lock feature!
Nice job, I would b too worried about a fire. Couldn’t u have just soldered a new spring for the battery?
Good job Charlie! I think I'll do this.
+100 convenience pts.
Achievement unlocked: above average RV skills.
Great idea. My only concern would be to come back to a dead camper because we accidentally left lights on or something and not be able to get in without a key.
Great mod! I love our keyless lock. My batteries seem to last about a year. Maybe I'm not using my camper enough!
Great Mod!!! Thanks for making the video!
Great modification, i assume it has a manual key over ride. Really like all the things you have done to that camper.

Yes I did this mod because of short battery life and it has worked flawlessly ever since!!
Great job !🎉
awesome job... see u if ur coming to Denise place
Charles, what kind of air compressor do you have in your rig?
if you just hold the lock button it will lock with no code.
Excellent! I loathe batteries that are not part of my solar system.
For $240 you would hope they would be better made. Mine is 5 years old & ready for the landfill.
Great idea!

power loss is a non issue. as the keys opens it all. and key locks are easy to pick.
nice

Send me a video showing connection of inverter and hydroelectricity single phase , you are a successful lecture
Jesus dude its gonna fail, 💩
Can just hold the lock button a few seconds to lock it instead of punching the code first.
