    Thank you for showing all the confusion about the mislabeled parts - most people would cut that out and then we'd all be confused about how our own kits were supposed to work :) It's a shame they had the wrong labels though.

    Your truck is looking good and your property looks amazing! Good video. I need some running boards and like the one you chose. I've had my R1T since June of 2022 and now have 60,000 miles on it. I'm told its one of the highest mileage my service center has seen. I agree with you that its the best vehicle made!

      That is a ton of miles. Good for you. Have you taken road trips or mostly local?

      @@dianewallace6064 I'm a home inspector in Santa Barbara California. I drive up and down the coast from LA to San Luis Obispo counties. I have been on several road trips including Idaho, Tahoe, Flagstaff, Vegas, San Fransisco, and many trips to Orange and San Diego counties. When at home I only charge overnight and regurlarly have over 250 mile days in standard mode with no charging stops needed. Its cost in charging is $1500 a month less than the 2018 Lexus NX300H hybrid SUV my daughter is now enjoying. My driving range has benefited by staying off the accelerator and driving like an adult. I only revert back to a teenager when a Raptor or a muscle car tries me. It drives like a dream and is suitable for any task with incredible acceleration, sports car like handling, towing, hauling or luxury outings. Get one!

      Thanks Richard! Wow! That is a lot of miles in such a short period. I've had mine since February, and I have 7800 miles on mine. How has your Rivian been holding up so far? How long did your tires last?
      Also, I really love the running boards. They look great and the really make it easier for me to get in and out of the Rivian.

      This truck has been the least trouble for me of any of the new vehicles I've bought which includes several trucks both foreign and domestic, corvettes, a Jeep Cherokee and a couple of SUV's. The zero maintenance cost has been wonderful. The OTA updates are always fun to see whats new and improved and I can't explain how much I enjoy not going to gas stations! As for tires, I burned up a set of the 22 inch sport tires in 18,000 miles. Too many launches! The second set lasted 25,000 miles. Now I have Toyo's on it and expect them to last 40,000 miles or so since I'm driving like a sane person again. @@thedukeofmiddleville

    Hi, great video. I have a few questions. 1. Does the running boards obstruct the lift points, how to lift the truck for tire change? 2. Does it create wind noise while driving? 3. Do you have any regrets going with this brand? Thank you so much!

    • @thedukeofmiddleville
      @thedukeofmiddleville  4 місяці тому +1

      Hello, The running boards do not obstruct lift points or create any wind noise. They are a great product, and in fact I will be installing a set on our R1S as well.
      Thanks!

      @@thedukeofmiddleville I remember seeing a video that the running boards will leave an openings on the bottom after the original plastic covers are removed. Is this still the case and will it be a problem for water intrusion to the battery? Thanks.

    Could you tell us what was wrong with the tools they provided? Good review.

    • @thedukeofmiddleville
      @thedukeofmiddleville  10 місяців тому +3

      I was able to remove one torx bolt with the tools using them as a breaker bar, but the other bolts wouldn't' budge. In fact, the instructions recommend the use of a half inch impact wrench because the bolts are so tight, but I guess it depends on the vehicle. Therefore, I highly recommended using a 1/2 impact wrench because it makes removing the bolts so much easier. Also, its a great tool to have to remove the lug nuts for tire changes or rotations.

    do the instructions say how much torque to use if you were using a torque wrench? was gonna pick these up but don't have an impact driver nor impact wrench

    • @thedukeofmiddleville
      @thedukeofmiddleville  2 місяці тому

      I just checked, and they don't providethe torque. You might want look at renting an impact wrench. Those bolts are tough to remove.

    • @thedukeofmiddleville
      @thedukeofmiddleville  10 місяців тому +3

      Hello, I did not put the plastic covers back on the vehicle. The only way to do it is to cut slots into covers where the running board braces are located. I will consider doing this if I can get replacement covers from Rivian incase I want to return it to stock. In the mean time I will keep them off since I have not noticed any impact on my range.

    I bought the boards for my Rivian but the package came missing all the mounting hardware. I sent them an email but they gave me the run around. Phone number doesn't work. The product looks good but since I'm missing the hardware it was a waste of money.
