Hey Tom, just wanted to drop a comment to say I’ve really enjoyed your content! I’m a content creator as well (do drum covers on UA-cam) and have learned a lot on how I can continuously improve my sound, camera image and edit...will try and do a live stream experience soon! It may be cool for you to do a how-to on that for musicians like me! Keep up the great work!
I'm a 12-year-old filmmaker with over, um, 12 years of experience making videos. I'm glad you're sharing your skills and techniques over your UA-cam channel. You've helped me a lot, and I'd just like to say thanks.
Like someone else commented, didn't know you could add a LUT to ecam! You're so knowledgeable and you break it down very well as always!! Thank you!!! 😁
Fantastic tutorial on creating Luts. Thank you. by the way, for those on Windows, you can use OBS with the OBS VirtualVam plugin to get your lut into Zoom/Discord
Have no need for this atm BUT something is attracting me to still watch ur videos. Keep working, bigger growth is in your near future. Im no fortune teller, but I just know, lol. I know you have many mics and prefer the podmic over most BUT, what would be nice is like a video "A month with the MV7" or something like that, maybe Im being "selfish", lol but I would love to see a video like that🤷🏾♂️
This is great. I wish we could do LUT's on each individual input on the Atem Mini as well. It would really help me when using that for Zoom or broadcasting for our school with different cameras.
Thank you again, Tom! This was ridiculously helpful. Been looking at Ecamm to see how it can help, not only my college counseling sessions, but also school/Dubai counselor community virtual events. So much more that can be done to absolutely trashcan talking head PowerPoint content. Merry Christmas!
Your channel is growing! I haven't been here for awhile. I have another account and used to ask you all kinds of tech questions lol I think you had under 3000 subs atm. Great job!!!
AWESOME! I had no clue this was possible. Wow - this is really great. Hmmmm, another use for Ecamm besides live stream, which I'm not (currently) doing. May have to bite the bullet on that one. Add that to the list of things I "need" as recommended by Tom. Thanks alut. Happy holidays!!!
@@tombuck Grrrrrrreat! Now, I HAVE to ECamm. Probably need the Atem Mini too. And the Rodecaster, while I'm at. I'll tell my wife my UA-cam friend Tom told me I NEEDED these things. Haha. Seriously, I am so grateful for the insight and advice from your channel. I've found your perspective and experiences super helpful in informing my decisions.
Thanks Tom for the EnLUTening video! As I'm about to start using ECamm - this is great news, a free Alt way to make a LUT is in DaVinci Resolve, or Color Finale in Final cut can also make a custom LUT that will be identical to your footage! How is it that this video only showed up in my feed now, but your pinned comment is from a week ago!!? Happy Christmas/Holiday/Festivus!
Didn't know you can apply LUTs on Zoom and Ecamm 😳 Very interesting. Would be fun to create a lut which gives the viewer the impression you are sitting Gollum's cave having a Zoom meeting there - could irritate some colleagues 😆 Great tutorial Tom! Merry Christmas to you, your wife and dog! ☃️ 🎄🎅
Yeah, someone else recommended that plugin too, but I already had Photoshop, so this worked for me. I've also gotten in the habit of creating my own Final Cut Pro presets for editing and wow, it saves a _ton_ of time!
Tom Buck oh yes... love those presets! I just need to now create a LUT that I can bring over to ecamm! Lord the natural picture/video in my livestreams is not working for me. 😉 I had no idea what the heck a LUT was OR that it is possible to bring it over to ecamm!
Sweet! Do u know if there is a way, or device that can add a LUT or correction that’s not software. In my situation I need an external hardware solution because I can’t load software on my work pc. Thanks! .
Thanks Tom! Do you need to create custom LUTs for each camera in a multi-camera setup, and does Ecamm support that? What do you recommend for a multi-camera setup?
You can add LUTs and adjustments to each scene within Ecamm. And I think there's a way to do it for each specific camera, but I'm not 100% sure how at the moment.
Tom, I love your stuff online. However, I can’t get the LUT to load on my 6K. It shows up as being on the card, but when I press “Import,” nothing happens. Help!!
@@tombuck Thank you so much for replying! I finally figured out what the problem is, after searching Blackmagic’s forum and Reddit: apparently, LUTs in their cameras need to be less than 1.5 MB. To achieve that, I needed to open a project in DaVinci Resolve, apply your LUT to it (while making no adjustments to the LUT), and then export the “new“ LUT as a “33 point“ LUT. It greatly reduced the size of the LUT, to around 774 kB, and I was able to import the LUT successfully to my 6K. Thank you again for all of your Contant, and for responding to my question. Best always, Bill
Hey TB - did you create your LUT from an ecamm shot, or from a zoom shot? Also, can you start calling your fans Buck-A-Roos? That might be fun. Thanks-a-LUT and I'll take my answer off the air. 🙌
I love this and I'm in Doc's Zoom class with you right now haha. I made the lut from a frame that was just from the SD card in Final Cut, but I could've used an Ecamm frame. I'd stay away from Zoom since it does funky things to image quality.
@@tombuck cool. I was thinking that if I'm color-correcting for Zoom I should use a zoom frame as a source file, but I get it. Once it gets from the camera to ecamm to zoom, then zoom do what it do anyway. Great seeing you around the hood too! Happy Dad's Day!
@@tombuck Have you checked if your Ecamm settings are the same as your camera/ATEM settings? Although I think you usually shoot to 30fps, unless I’m misremembering.
