Thanks for this informative lesson! I'd heard of using Potter's Pink for sand, but was unsure of how to mix it with other colors, etc. Yours came out very nicely and I'm eager to try some of the things shown. Very happy to subscribe! 🎨

Thank you very much. When we started with Potter's Pink, it was quite a journey of trial and error, but now that we understand how it works, we use it a lot. There is a slight difference between the one supplied by Schmincke and those of other brands. So far we have found the Schmincke one to be the most granulating and it has a very nice hue.
Other brands are sometimes more red/pink/brown, and they often do not granulate as much. If you use it as a base colour with Raw Sienna, or Sepia, you can create incredible textures for tree trunks and other weathered surfaces. Enjoy!

This is an excellent tutorial. Thank you. I came here for potters pink and I’m inspired to try to paint rock walls as you did, and experiment with that technique.

Quelle délicatesse, et quelle perfection ! Si peu crée beaucoup à l'aquarelle, à peine, à peine et voilà le paysage entièrement vivant et attirant. Bravo, merci pour ce partage, bonne journée.
What delicacy, and what perfection! So little creates much in watercolor, very little, fine, suggested and here is the landscape entirely alive and attractive. Bravo, thank you for sharing, have a good day.

It is such a pleasure. It is a great pigment to use. Please be aware that Potters pink can be more difficult to activate than other pigments. Wet the paint thoroughly before using it.

Another excellent tutorial! I love your videos and always learn so much. I don't have Potter's Pink in my palette but might have to give it a try. I love both granulating colors and a challenge! 😊

Thank you very much. We are really glad that you enjoy the tutorials. Potters Pink is an amazing to have in a palette. It mixes well with other colors. If possible look at the one from Scmincke. It rewets easier than some of the other brands, and is pinker than certain brands.

Pleasure! Potter's Pink is one of my favourite colours. The possibilities are endless. I have mixed PP with Cerulean Blue and it makes the most beautiful, soft grey. I have also mixed it with French Ultramarine to make something similar to Schmincke's Tundra Rose. If you use the same mix and add a bit of Ivory Black, or Neutral Tint, you can make the Tundra Violet. Add a touch of Manganese Violet and you are in for some magic:) It also works fantastic with Umber, and Raw Sienna.
