Borthwick is a good coach, and I think Eng will be a very good side by the time 2027 rolls around
I wasn’t too happy about Borthwicks appointment, but I said then I would prepared to eat my words. Early doors I’ve been impressed. So keep it going in the right direction Steve and I’ll be happy to eat my words.
Delighted to see SB stepping out to engage with the media more and more
Not his normal but he’s good at it
Thought Borthwick did very well with the RWC team last year . Getting to the semifinals and nbeing beaten by 1 point by eventual champions is a result no many saw coming. Looking forward to the English tests against NZ. There wont be mauch between them with 2 good coaches going head to head. Wouldn't be surprised if its a drawn series as many experienced older All Blacks have left to play in Japan .
Been waiting for Borthwick to put his own stamp on the team. It had to happen after the world cup. Obviously him and his coaching team habe been having an impact with a newer style of rugby (blitz defence, more ball through hand and less kick chase), but it's never going to work for the next world cup if he kept the same old gaurds. Love some of the young guns he's selected.
Good analysis
Pick Willis Borthers… go on 😬
Fr jack wills is a a class player
Jack Willis looked class for England.
He can't pick Jack as he plays for Toulouse.
Why…/ is this Big Jim?
He better mention that chap at Toulouse
@alexnaismith351Toulouse fan are we
Why? Willis chose cash over country. So eff him.
@@clemfandango619 No. He needed a job after Wasps were allowed to collapse by the sharing, caring RFU.They are also the numpties who are preventing overseas based players being selected.
@@clemfandango619 Sad intake and a clueless one. I guess there are people like you in every country. If you're a bit intrested in actually knowing why, there's an interview of JW explaining the how and why. If you want to blame, then blame Wasps collapse.
@alexnaismith351 Sorry, that "logic" is lost on me. You don't work for the RFU at all?
........errrr, Japan is in the northern hemisphere.
Stay strong on Mercer Borthwick. Possibly the most overhyped player who could be picked for England.
How so?
@@speak_your_truth. He's a good or very good player but he's talked about by too many fans like he's the second coming. Case of value being massively increased because he's not involved.
@@zkavess7294 How do you know? If he was involved maybe he would be demonstrating his quality.
Have to agree. Against the Sharks in the final he was manhandled and against Test packs, he will be found out, because he is when coming up against something close at domestic level. Not expecting him to be a Vermeulen, but space is much less at the Test level and he needs to make metres in contact and heavy traffic first and foremost - just like a prop’s first role is set piece. Ben Earl had to go away and work at it, hard, because he’s not the largest either, but he worked on generating immense power in contact - something Mercer hasn’t developed to the level required yet. He steps to the side and skirts around contact.. which just won’t fly against a NZ, SA etc. Those opportunities come later in the second half … but not in the first 20.
Sky Sports has eye candy, I see✅
His nose has seen better days though
@@ryanmortimer9849I’m talking about the bird on the right side lmaooo
You like the bald look?
Cauliflower ears do it for you?
England play spoil tactics rugby. They don't dictate the play and are forever talking about how to stop the ooposition. Get more South Africans into your team. Winning is in their DNA
England 🏴 are going to be hammered by the All Blacks 😂what a joke of Steve thinks his going to be successful against the All Blacks
He said that's he's confident in his group of players. What else is he going to say? "No, we're not as good as New Zealand" may be true, but not exactly the right way to instil confidence.
As a kiwi I think you are an idiot, if you really think the ab's are going to be that dominant. New coach different players, injuries etc, rhey won't be easy games for us at all
Won't win anything with Borthwick dull and uninspiring
Someone hasn't watched many games over the past 18 months.
Much better then that mouth piece Eddie Jones
No mercer or Willis is absolutely criminal
Tom may still make it
No Pearson?
He isn't allowed to pick Willis under the current system, it's simple if you want to play for England you have to play in England.
@@neilcarpenter2669no you don't
I can’t understand why Pearson doesn’t get a look in, he is young and strong and good hands and a great engine!!
