Clearly its because he plotted to take the limeware platter I do enjoy the fact that morrowind's npcs were very deliberately placed, even the dead (or currently falling) ones, gives tge whole game a very tight knit experience
A couple of options for the next steps before walking to Balmora: 1. Speak with Vodunius Nuccius about a little advice and help him get home. 2. Speak with Eldafire about a little advice and o something about those smugglers in Addamasartus cave. Freeing the slaves inside initiates a quest that appears later in the game. 3. Speak with Albecius Colollius latest rumors about Mentor's Ring being lost on the Bitter coast and search the local tombs. Which could include Thelas Ancestral Tomb which have 3 NPCs with the last name of Thelas in the game. And then Samarys Ancestral Tomb for the spoils. 4. If you follow the north path out of Seyda Neen, Tarhiel the falling wizard will fall from the sky. 5. Explore the 2 local shipwrecks.
thank you, bard. there's a lot of youtubers who do videos on bethesda games and i watch a lot of them. your style is unique. it's a let's play with thoughtful but not overly-padded analysis. i think a lot of the long-form videos are definitely made to be "second screen" content that viewers have on while they are also watching tik toks and looking at instagram. this is just made for enjoyable watching and having a think.
If you're willing to be a bit evil, you can walk away with the 700 gold, the potions AND the ring by killing the lady after getting the potions and looting her corpse for the ring. The ring is one of the better enchantable items. You can then also use the lighthouse as a home base.
You get free gealth potion for returning his ring to his gf. But if you have Purist Patch Install you cannot expose the criminal before report to the Census. Also his ring is an exquisite ring you can hang on to it for enchanting purpose
I like this quest since it teaches that some quest can be done in diffirent ways for varying rewards. For example in this one you could just take the 200 gold and run, get the 500 gold and the potions, get the 700 and the ring or the 500 gold and keep the ring. Ofcourse the ring could be sold or enchented later on.
I appreciate the support! So far I’m loving it! Lots of new things to learn, but that makes it even more interesting! The game makes it easier to create a unique character than all the other games IMO!
Interesting thing is that Foryn's story doesn't quite fit with facts: 1. He says that he killed Vitellius, because he squandered overcharged tax on wealthy clothes and jewlery, yet when we stumble upon his body he is in commoner clothes and has no jewlery; 2. He says that he left Vitellius with entire gold on his body, yet when searched body it's only 200 septims. 3. Why would Vitellius record "overcharged" tax from citizens and kept that at his body. 4. In Elder Scrolls universe also it's isn't role of tax collector to set up taxes upon citizens, he is just collecting taxes. All tax matters are menaged by his higher ups in East Empire Company. I think that Foryn was just jelous of relationship between Vitellius and Thavere, he murdered poor tax collector, put faked tax record without checking how much gold Vitellius has and kept one thing that would remind Thavere about Vitellius: ring, so she could forget imperial. Also Foryn's house is pointed right onto lighthouse, allowing him to spy on Thavere.
Foryn gives you back the ring if you spare him. Foryn has no weapons. It is more likely that the local smugglers or the Camonna Tong killed Processus but used Forynth to lure him out to the swamp. Afterwards, they give the ring to him to create a scapegoat - he accepts the ring as a memento because his issue with Processus is him overcharging and then buying expensive jewelry - jealousy or indignation. He did not know that the expensive jewelry was actually a gift and not bought with overcharged tax money. They left the gold on the body to misdirect investigators thinking the death was an accident - that Processus was killed by the wildlife. This is also why they left the tax record - for identification. In the book corpse preparation it is stated that mudcrabs can strip a body down to bones in a matter of days.
Also if he faked the tax record, why did he leave his own name on it with the greatest unpaid tax amount? And the office can check the record against their own tax records easily to determine that it is a fake.
Oh and Forynth is stated to be a fisherman. On the Bitter Coast, it is not uncommon for fishermen to make other deliveries and acquire suspicious income that a taxman would investigate. It also means that Forynth could easily know smugglers or Camonna Tong members due to his connections
It was mentioned at the beginning briefly, but when it comes to solstheim in this game, watch out, it’s a little bit trickier than Skyrim because your main enemies there once you get started with the main quest are a little bit tanky when it comes to damage, it has to do with hircine
There's also a "secret" reward not many people realize: After you kill the culprit, his house and all the containers within become unowned and you can use it as a provisional player home.
For when you get around to the faction quests, its important to know that some are not cross compatible (im pretty sure at least) For example i dont think you can do both the thieves and the fighters guild together, so may be good to find out which arent compatible and create multiple save files for each
Yes I’ve heard that! I appreciate the info though as I didn’t know the specifics on which ones lock you out! I’ll have to do more research on it, cheers!
You can do almost all factions quest lines no problem as long as you know what you're doing. The only choices you have to make are the great houses, which you can only join 2 (Hlaalu + Another one) and the vampire clans, since you can only become a vampire once and if you make too much progress in the main quest, you can't become a vampire at all.
one thing you missed on Gilnith; he says he was angry that it was flaunted... but he of course is wearing it 9:11 its easier to hide a new ring till you fence it than 200 gold (and doesn't provoke Imperial action). what's more you find 200 gp. that is not enough for the (PAID) taxes at all; so this is likely him collecting from those that have not already paid. of those only one owes more than 200... might this guy have been a bit short on his taxes? it's not like he'd be the "Foryn Gilnith" oh my Daedra... boys... we got him. he only took pity on "his woman" because she was a Dunmer and he was caught red handed; if she too were Imperial or probably even a Nord he would not have so much pity. Gilnith is definitely in the wrong; the incredibly corrupt legion is where he should have his issues as they will do whatever they want to get what they want... but they are armed... and he can't handle that.
Hold up, you can still get the potions and the 700 gold. Just take the ring to Thavere first, then report the crime to Socucius for the reward money. That’s how I’ve always done it.
After speaking with Socucius and accepting the quest to locate the murderer, if you speak to the guard in the Census and Excise Office he will also tell you that Processus was a good man.
Now, if to think about it, does it feel like Morrowind has way more quests and guilds, then Oblivion? Like, I remember playing Morrowind at least 3 times from the beginning, because each time I wanted to play for another Great House.
Think about it the drunk one isnt that really that nice of a guy, hes just sloshed and likely one slip from exposing the whole racket. Old loose lips has been playing hard and fast for too long.
Why didn't you activate Morrowinds cool water textures under game's options? So many do this but the original water of Morrowind actually looks so nice when turning the graphics up. And I am not talking about mods here. Its like making the game purposefully more ugly.
Hey, I just finished a script on a factcheck-type video on your “15 UNFINISHED & CUT Quests in Oblivion” video. I was wondering if you would be interested in making either a follow-up piece or video in the same style as this one where I help you research the content in question as to prevent the spread of misinformation. I ask, because you are clearly passionate about the lore, games, and crafting videos, that much clearly radiates from your work. But when it comes to the actual info provided by this video, that’s where you kinda miss the mark. I would love to help you spread some accurate cut content info to the masses, so please, do let me know!
Hey, all the info for that video was provided by the Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages, so I guess your script is more so fact checking them, I’d have to watch it back to see if my presentation was different from the message I wanted to convey. Cheers for the comment!
@@ABardsBalladHahahah, oh I am all too aware of that. Don’t you worry. Just by the order of your topics I could tell where they were sourced from. I was checking out your channel too! A lot of great stuff on there! A big thank you then for your hardwork 😂 this channel probably wouldn’t have gotten very far without the wiki!
I’ve gotta start remembering to comment on each of these 😅 thanks for all the effort! Very glad to watch your journey through Morrowind

@@ABardsBallad cool I’m really enjoying your gameplay new sub
Very sad, very grim.
No winners here unfortunately!
when i played this back when morrowind launched, this was one of many quests i missed. later games make us take quest markers for granted.
Yeah for real! There’s so much hidden content within this game!
The sixth house unmourned would never do such a grant and intoxicating thing! I bet it was those outlanders😂
It must’ve been the classic outlanders!!
I've never been interested in playing morrowind until you released these videos, I'm really enjoying learning About this game

I learned something new! I never thought to confront Foryn and then report the murder. I've always reported it first.
Yeah definitely a very interesting technique of doing it! I’d gladly take the 700 gold lol
But is the 200 gold better than 2 free healing potions? Thats up to the player

Hi there, love these Morrowind videos, any indications on when we can expect part Ill of the main questline?
Awesome! I’m glad to hear! Currently working on it as I’m responding right now! :)
