Important thing to note, steamworks constantly gives you steam tickets, which trade for Mega Demondrug, Dash juice and Mega Armordrug on a 1:1 basis. You will get a LOT of steam tickets, and they are useless for anything but a single armour set.

As a dash juice addict, I appreciate this piece of information.
Protip: be sure to bring your palico and summon tailraiders when your grinding fuel. Tailraiders and your palico have a chance to gather additional fuel or items each time you gather. Each zone usually has two areas that spawn bones and ore. Clear all nodes and you can simply run back and forth between each area for faster gathering. No need to run across the entire map.
Even better tip, get them to red level and don't gather the nodes completely, leave 1 and carry on to the next. That way you'll keep the red level indefinitely and you'll be able to farm a ton of Dragonvein Crystals.

2 recommendations for farming the Frozen Foliage event quest:
1) go into the options menu and find the setting that automatically puts you into one of three places when completing a mission and set it to camp. This will skip the load times for the gathering hub or main base area if you go to camp and redo the mission again.
2) use the festival armor set for a higher chance for the VIP tickets. The set can easily be moded into a farming set and the VIP tickets can unlock some time sensitive items you might want, and if you have those items the VIP tickets can be turned into more large decorations

I've farmed hundreds maybe thousands of hours for attack and crits jewels. Melded 20 silver tickets and got two attack and one tenderizer jewel; I wasn't sure if I wanted to uninstall the game or jump for joy.
Those got easier after iceborne.
For PC users using a controller: I've noticed the game seems to think your keeping R2 pressed down if you alt tab out of the game with a bit of generous timing while holding down that button. Never needed a rubber band or piece of paper anymore because of this :)
also if you wear three pieces of the astral armor you increase your odds of getting the VIP gratitude tickets, which you can exchange for silver/good melding tickets at the elder melder. You could get that + the Kirin bonus if you get a Safi weapon w/Kirin divinity.
I'm after the only mhw deco I'm missing. Guard up.
Ah man, it took me a very long time to get that. Got it a few days before Icebourne came out from the Lavasioth event quest. I hope you get it, itsvey much worth it

Some gears from minor monsters give fantastic gathering skills, Shamos head gear is one. Kulu gloves give Pro Transporter although there aren't many delivery quest in MHW. You can also utilize Lunastra set skill with the Ghillie mantle for smooth gathering.

I know it sounds crazy pants, but I get the best results from steam works by just mashing buttons. It's random anyway, so there's nothing to lose😁
That's the best way to do it, but I'm getting old, mashing buttons for hours is something I'm not going to do.
great luck is bunk ... doing it with astral set and a ice proof mantle . and gather speed charm . those vip tickets give u a higher return overall than great luck

Hmmm, can I get Kirin divinity on a Safi weapon? Could run two pieces of Kirin and 3 pieces of the astral set so you still get a decent chance at VIP Gratitude tickets, while farming this. Then put on lvl2 Geology and the charm that allows you to gather faster (forgot the name). Speed run the icebloom quest.

a good way to farm decos is The Greatest Jagras event quest High rank you can easy get 20 decos in 3-4 minutes then go out and do the quest again over and over

Before iceborne I had only 2 attack deco's, now I have 7 thanks to the melding tickets
One little thing, you say that you only need 3 maintenance decos but in fact tool specialist can go up to 5 with Lunastra MR set bonus
Yeah but you have to have at least +1 Tool Specialist if you use 3 Lunastra Essence Pieces, depending on the parts you use. If you take the "right" 3 pieces you allready get TS5. ;)
Out of curiosity, why don’t people like defense decorations? There’s not diminishing returns for defense. Seems to make a lot of sense to me to make your health pool even bigger (mathematically that is).
Aquatic polar explorer is not a bad shout on a gathering set too.
That Shield Jewel man. No one seems to know exactly where to look for it. I've read countless Threads on Reddit and many other forums. No one has a good line. Just Git Gud or Get Lucky at random.
The Names Lavasioth or Greatest Jagras are unfortunately your best bet. Minds Eye, Guard Up, Protective Polish and Mighty Bow apparently don't drop from the Iceborne feystones (was datamined).
@@Urthopify What? That can't be true. I got a second shield jewel from doing the flora event while wearing a full event set (was farming for tickets).
I had the same problem with MindsEye, Magazine and Mighty Bow Jewel. Then I decided to spam a whole Saturday just Lavasioth and Jagras. At the end of the day I had all of them
Do you get gourmet vouchers from steamworks? You bring them up before GL run and say "don't worry you'll get a ton doing what I'm about to do" but you don't mention them again.
Yes you get a lot of them. I farmed a little bit of melding tickets when Safi first came out and I still have around 400 of them.

ive been doing all this but never thought to use 2 kirin when running my guiding lands route for fuel. il have to give that a go next time. But i have over 1mil research and 15mil zenni. so i just need fuel lol
Do hard Attack Jewels exist? Because I got a hard Defense Jewel and that got thinking what if there's other varity's.

@@tazmania7785 it is easy to get. Just get Brute Tigrex Chest and Ruiner Coil. But anyway I would go for Crit Eye, Tenderizer, Crit Boost, Agitator on Max and then Attack on 4. If you are good, you can run peak performance in your Endgame Build as well
@@ascissordollynamedgwen9409 Yeah before Iceborne Attack 7 was much better because the attack numbers were smaller. Now it makes only sense if you allready have 100% affinity on weak spots and critboost 3.
I hunt hundred silver Rathalos , gold Rathian Rahjaag more than I can count savage deviljho and I still don’t have shit to show for it. A week of that shit and nothing , All tempered to , that’s bullshit.
I have probably spent 150,000 to 2 hundred and I continue to receive jewels it has already given. I am beginning to think that it only gives certain jewels from the pool. For instance I don't have a mighty bow Jewel but I have received about 15 Peirce or spread jewels. Same with magazine or artillery. Does anyone else have the same results?
I too have similar problems, however, I can definitely say I've received mighty bow just this morning from the the steam works. If you're after it keep trying. It's there. Though I'm not sure about guard up..

Hi guys, can anyone confirm that Mighty Bow Jewel drops from Silver Ticket Melding?.
Iceborne got an update and now The Melder can actually just craft the Mighty Bow jewel now! It cost 4,000-6,000 points 😫 but it was so worth it because the drop rate is so rare like probably one of the rarest drops in the game. I don’t regret it.
Steamwork Question: Am I ruining my chances on Celestial Tickets with the steamwork update when I'm switching the steamwork exchange rate from 1 to 10? Cause recently I'm using the rate of 10 for it and I haven't gotten any celestial tickets in any runs. Will I get a higher factor at once and it just takes more time to trigger a celestial ticket drop (more at once) or are the drops of celestial tickets completely off as soon as you switch to exchange rate 10?
From what i know apparently when theres live events going on thats when Celestial Tickets are more likely to appear but im not 100% sure

A good friend of mines created a controller mod that allows him to fully AFK for the steamworks.
I place my phone on my spacebar key and go AFK
I wrap an elastic around it so pressure stays on the button.

Hi everyone , i need your help .I have only 3 modes in Elder Melder ( Meld items , meld decoration , First wyverial ritual) . How to unlock Guild , sealing and awakening alchemy? (ಥ_ಥ) (hunter RM 50).
Steam ticket melding is available while events are going on. Also Doing Safi & MR Kulve unlocks their specific melding options.

Gold tickets aren't really worth it. Well, no shit lol but there's nothing else you can do with them other than sell them and even then there not worth selling. so even if you get 100 shitty lvl 4 decos you can at least trade them in.

Im trying to get one single anjanath mantle to make a weapon, but my elder melder will only let me use tickets for monster jems. does anyone know whats wrong? Please? im so tired of fighting Anjanaths...
Don’t know if you gave up but do Investigations!! They’re more likely to drop rare parts especially if the box rewards are silver/gold. That’s your best bet to get any type of gem/mantle!

I swear every time I meld my garbage decorations, I get something worse than garbage. Been farming a magazine jewel for probably a year if you count pre-iceborne farming before giving up. Back at it again.
about melding ticket. you can get only rare5-6 from steel.
you can get all lv1-3 from silver. for me focus on rare7+ that hard to get in mhw.
and only lv4 from gold. maybe it's beter than normal farm.
sometime i force to 1 lv3earplug in lv4 slot. i think it n/a on lv4 deco.
but when i watch this. Ahhhh fuck my life. how can't i get 1.
I have to replay my mhw since i forgot to turn on steam save or save the save file when my pc got wipe. Lost 400hours+ no big deal. Replay everything is ok to me. But decoration farm is my nightmare. Drop the game for awhile waiting for iceborne to start it over. And Iceborne help a lot with my situation. The defender gear is a life saving. This new melding system too. Still not recommend new player to rush through world , you will miss a lot. Any way weirdly enough i get so many good and useful decor i need from this new system so far but for some reason i still can't find an artillery decor. I got the upgrade version of it which is nice but all i ask for is the old artillery because i need it for my small decor slot. It's not that rare for god sake. I already at 250 hour + with iceborne and yet no artillery :((
kamenkaze damn that’s bad luck, I got so many artillery jewels and never can relate to people who can’t get them, yet I don’t understand how people have so many charger and magazine jewels, I have 700 hours and haven’t gotten a single one of either I think, working towards hopefully getting some now, but I haven’t been able to even attempt a meta charge blade build due to never getting these jewels since starting the game the day it came out
@@hamachibeans4471 everyone have some certain thing they can't get i believe. I have a bunch of magazine and 3 charger jewels. And my case is artilery and guard up. Guard up is understandable because it's rare but artillery is really weird me out. It's fine for me since i'm a bit flexing and use different type weapon for different monster. but I know case like my friend who main 1 weapon and can't get the jewel for that weapon it's really painful. my old character have problem with iron wall but have a bunch of guard up. it's almost feel like capcom did this on purpose. If only we have some way to exchange for every single gem we need. Even if it cost a lot at least it still viable.

Are you talking about the armor or layered armor that he’s wearing? You need “joyful tickets” and or “VIP joyful tickets” to craft it. As far as I know you can only get that from the previous event currently. The “holiday joy fest” event. Maybe they’ll bring it back for the spring event. I hope this is what you meant, otherwise I typed all this for nothing lol

Monster Hunter Nexus mods for the win. The melder is and will always be a ripoff. Farming is fun and all, but when you put 500+ hours in and have not a single weakness exploit, attack up, (insert any useful skill here) gem, etc. to show for it.......yeah. Back in my day, we could just CRAFT the gems we wanted as with any other piece of gear. From my understanding, they got rid of this to pad the game. If this truly was the case, this was a dumb change in my opinion. I literally mod the game to make the melder useful and still have nearly 1000+ hours in the game lol. Capcom just has to be Crapcom sometimes to maintain the "universal balance" I suppose.
So you cheated for your jewels. Why do you play then ? The Endgame is to optimise your builds. If I would have Agitator2, Handicraft2 without any effort, I probably wouldn't play anymore
You're right that in past games you could craft decos instead of RNG loot them, but in older games you had to RNG loot charms instead of craft those, where in MHW we craft the charms at the smithy. It all basically evens out.
@@TheGesterr That's true. However, charms were minor in comparison. Essentially, back then we had to farm for one charm per build. Now, we have to farm for MULTIPLE "charms" (decos) depending on the gear you have on.
@@m.h.4907 I play for the gameplay. I don't enjoy mindless farming that is obviously gibbed. I know this might seem like an alien concept for you, but hunting monsters is indeed fun in Monster Hunter. It's made more fun when the rewards are doled out in a reasonable fashion - not when I'm playing the lottery or praying to RNGeesus. Even with each monster's rare drops, at least I can use the tickets every so often for a guaranteed drop. That being said, if you can somehow justify how playing for 500+ hours with no useful gem drops is fun, I'm all ears. Moreover, I'd be VERY curious to how you saw the base game's endgame of farming the same few elders for gems was interesting....
not trying to advertise cheating but i am so glad we got iceborne on PC with support for mods, the game is 10x more enjoyable when you have to kill a monster 5 times and not 100 times for rare materials and decos to drop, no offense to people who enjoy endless brainless grind though

Folks are gonna h8 on you, but I totally agree with ya. I hate the RNG Gacha game that is decorations. The fact Rurikahn says you could be doing this while watching Netflix demonstrates how stupid gathering is in Iceborne. "Don't pay attention to the game while you play it."
Honestly, what's better? Spending hours mining coal and hoping the steamworks gives you what you need in the window that the events are around or just cutting out the RNG bullshit and making builds and fighting monsters?
The real crime here is the game doesn't let you make decorations out of monster parts. Could you imagine how awesome that would be?

Honestly I wish I could use some of those mods on console. The grind is absolutely unforgiving and completely pointless. I need a mighty bow and a mind's eye which are two extremely rare jewels and mighty bow is build defining so gating it behind pure RNG is stupid.
@@lolwarriordps hate or not, it is not ruining my experience but made it more enjoyable, i grinded 100 hours for LANCE to have the weapons and augments I wanted, imagine i want to swtich weapons and enjoy something else, i have to spend another 100 hours out of which 10 are enjoyable and the rest is repetitive stereotypical tasks that are not even challenging, just time consuming, if some korean players or younger players enjoy grinding 8h a day 7 days a week to get what they want, its perfectly ok, but with fulltime job, kids and a life this game is absurdly grindy and not rewarding enough to go through the whole process for all the weapons in the game. to each their own :)
