Izzy vs Alex storyline is still going on too. Alex moved up to light heavyweight and beat the only man other than himself to beat Adensanya. Alex will almost certainly fight for the vacant LHW title next. If he wins, this could set up a super fight between them and could be at either weight class. (most likely middleweight) Alex Pereira has been an absolute blessing to the UFC lol

UFC 266 is the event that legitimized Alexander Volkanovski in the eyes of the masses and ensured that an eventual trilogy fight against Holloway was in the cards for the UFC. To get there though, Volk needed to defeat Ortega and later TKZ and Max would have to beat Calvin Kattar and Yair Rodriguez to prove no one else was fit to fight for the belt again. The trilogy at UFC 276 doesn't happen without both Volk defeating Ortega who was very live and dangerous at the time and Max beating Yair, who was being hyped up as a potential challenger at the time.

Got to lambast Aldo who was coming off injury and had been out for a year for months when he was only 6-0 in the UFC (while Tony had double the wins over overall better competition. And Aldo never got his rematch. Then he gets to leapfrog the division for his other one. And then he gets gifted a guy who was well past his prime and a slow starter to boot. Perfect for a guy who’s round one is lightning in a bottle and who got owned the last time he fought.

    3. Strickland is a very low risk opponent for izzy.

@@mongoose890 ........ Merab denied a title fight against his friend, how does that have any baring on the new champion? Lol Aljo won the first round on the judges and media scorecards so we're saying because of 30 seconds of a 6 minute fight the guy with the most title defenses and the longest win streak doesn't deserve a title shot? Yeah you're right Cory is a great option for contention so the question you should be asking isn't "why aren't you mentioning Cory" it should be "why did Sean call Chito out, why did Dana said he's talking to Chito's team about the fight and why Dana completely forgot about Cory in favor of chito?"

Merab's injured you bozo, says he won't even be ready by December.
If Aljo really wants that rematch (and in my opinion, he should get it), then he should be pushing for it, instead of campaigning for his buddy Merab.

throughout the GSP fight, it was never clear that Hendricks was in control or that he did anything clearly significant to definitively earn his seal stamped on 3 of the 5 rounds. GSP's nieces and nephews could open him up with all that scar tissue riddled all over his face.
do you think that fight would've been as close as it was if Hendricks wasn't juicing? would he have even gotten to that point? look at his record and physique after the major changes made in MMA with testing fighters. Hendricks has no business on questioning the legitimacy of that outcome when he juiced to get there. he speaks of fairness but was it fair for the other fighters to fight someone (Hendricks) who wasn't fighting fairly?

It’s hard to respect the UFC and call it a sport with someone like Dana White running it. It’s not a sport, it’s entertainment. Dana very clearly pushes the money fights and tries set up the more marketable fighters for success. How tf is Sean going to get performance of the night from a tko in the 2nd round when the fight before was a girl who broke the record for largest strike differential and slipped out of multiple submission attempts. You can’t perform any better than that.

because the UFC controls certain fights. UFC has always been the WWE 2.0, and this new slap league proves it, by showing a mother fkr will let someone hit him in the face for money.

Super uneventful when GSP and Jonny fought?? Jonny clearly won, GSP retired after getting his fake win , but clearly pointed out that Jonny was on the juice and Dana gave him tons of shit about it at the post fight press conference.
This would be the catalyst for USADA testing, which the media kept on urging for and GSP convincing Lorenzo to implement it into the UFC.
