I doubt anyone in that local cover band trademarked a name. I think the defendant just called a place and said "That's not the same band the community knows with that name so you can't use our name." That's why he sounds like he's about to cry as he explains what he did because he made assumptions about legalities.

As far as the bad mouthing men thing, you do realize that this is a TV show … she did that, and many other less-than-desirable actions and words, for ratings. Nothing more. She was there to make money for the company. Funnily enough, the company had no idea that she and the show would be so well loved. Once they found out they had a winning combination, they let her run amok with the “men bashing”, name calling and humor. In real life, she is a very kind, decent, compassionate lady who has strong opinions on parenting and women being able to support themselves. I don’t think “man bashing” is on her list of hobbies. Js.
