    Thanks for watching!
This is just s short video showing how easy it is to fit a roof tile vent, this can be used to attach a tube to a extractor fan from a bathroom or just to ventilate the loft space to get rid and avoid condensation build up. If the later is being done then several vents will need to be fitted to give much air flow and movement to get rid of the water vapours.

Thank you for this video anyways, as I'm planning to install some vent tiles on my roof and it helps a lot. The only difference is on my roof they are single wave ones (called single pantile I believe?) concrete tiles.

Thanks for the a acknowledgment! Sounds like Anglian roof tiles you have. They are pan tiles, the ones in this video are also pan tiles, interlocking. You can get vents for those tiles and the process is basically the same. 👍

Great video. I doubt I will be fitting these myself, though you do inspire great confidence. I do wonder - are none of the existing roof tiles nailed in? I saw this in another person's youtube video and I wondered how he 'slid' these tiles out from the midway position if they had been nailed in the first place? Or have I misunderstood?

Thanks for the comment and glad I inspire confidence! 😃 Usually every 3 or 4 tile courses are nailed, not all courses need nailing. But some building sites require all get nailed. If the tile won’t budge, tap one above it up and remove the nail to get it out. 👍

@@davesalter Thanks. I am in touch with a local roofing contractor to install some vents, but it's good to have some knowledge on the workings of these things.

Great video. I'm thinking of fiting this for a shower extactor fan. My question is, do you get much wind blowing back down it with it not having vents that close?

Wind isn’t really a problem in my experience honestly.

Wouldn't it be easier just to put lots of soffit vents - soffits here seem to be plastic upvc ones so should be no issues drilling them?

Soffit vents will help and can be used in addition to tile vents to increase air flow, vents at roof line (fascia/soffit) and also higher in the loft is ideal really.
Plastic soffits is often fitted over what was there originally, either wood or in some cases Aesbestos boards, so I’d make sure there is none of the latter before drilling holes though it.
