Love the Mom input. I too raised kids while being artist. Favorite moment was when daughter answered the phone and said "Mom will talk to you when she finishes the yellow" my art supplies stayed in play pen..kids had the rest of room..i loved every day..
I watched the Ali Cavanaugh podcast and was impressed with her work. It was great to hear about her going to Kendall to study art. I attended Kendall School of Design in the late 50's and studied Interior Design. Then they only taught furniture, interior and commercial design. No art. After Kendall I had a career as an Interior Designer and practiced art as a hobby. It was after I retired that I began doing art shows and now sell online. congratulations to Ali for pursuing her dream and glad to hear about Kendall's expansion into fine art.
I LOVED this interview! I appreciate her transparency regarding the spiritual component of her story, and her thoughts on making art alongside good mothering. So great how she reminds us that adversity and tough times can actually strengthen us and positively contribute to our art making. Thank you both!
I watched every second of this Allie C. podcast. What I received most was pure spirit expressing itself through your sharing and through her tender layered painting. So much sculpture with water and minimal pigment colors. Ethereal and unique. Thank you both.
Alli is a fabulous artist and she’s so well spoken about her art journey!! I paint in oils but did watercolors in the 70s. I have to say I think the number one advantage that transparent watercolors have over Oils is its transparency. It is a luminous medium. !!❤❤❤
As a watercolorist I am so happy to hear Ali Cavanaugh ! I have followed her work for several years… and it is wonderful to get to know her more. Thank you !
Loved this podcast- I connected with Ali in so many ways. I started out my art journey with watercolor, and am now inspired to go back and revisit the medium. Thanks Ali, attitude is everything!❤
So touched by Ali's journey.. Her suggestion to get a mentor was inspiring and powerful. I'm on the hunt right now. Thanks Jeff. Listen to everyone of your podcasts.
Alli is right about Grand Rapids.. my sister lived there for years and wanted me to go up there after I finished my product design degree at champagne Urbana, but I wanted to stay in Chicago and found a job as a first female furniture designer for a Futorian corporation . it was an awesome job .. but I know Knoll furniture company in Grand Rapids would’ve been an awesome place as well!! I’ve never regretted my choice..❤👍
🤯🤯🤯. Yes, everyone should know Ali. What an amazingly beautiful person, incredible artist, wife, mom, etc. and Sister in Christ Thank you both so much!! 🙏💕
So happy to have found this channel and specifically, to this interview with Ali Cavanaugh, who is one of my favorite artists. What a privilege to hear the story of her journey this far. I have great respect for her ability to overcome the obstacles and challenges placed before her. Her story, like her art, is very inspiring. Thank you so much for bringing this interview to us! You deserve so many more watches, likes, and follows. What you have presently does not reflect the quality of your offerings. I am going to tell all of my art friends about your YT channel and will look for your podcasts!
A baby can understand most of what is said by 9 months old. The ability to control the tongue comes much later, but that programming is already there in the brain. Twins sometimes spontaneously develop their own language, showing how deeply the brain is wired for language. A chimpanzee is faster at pairing matches on a screen than a human. We have up a lot of our visual processing to be speaking. I wonder what our art would have looked like if we never had speech?
I’m sorry that the experiences and spirituality of my guest offended you. I’ve had atheists, agnostics and people of various faiths on this channel. It’s a channel dedicated to allowing artist to open up and speak to what inspires them and as the host I allow my guests to share regardless of whether their beliefs align with my own. I hope you continue to listen and are able to appreciate the diversity of beliefs and experiences of others as I have.
