Pete's work is stunning. He's fearless.

I taught for years at a university and would show the APV videos to my classes. They were excellent & very inspirational. I think I even wrote Michael to make sure I had permission.

Michael I hope you read this.. APVM was epic for me in my development as an artist. Back in the early days of the 2010's i was just learnin and I was constantly watchin and purchasing those . I was bummed when you stopped uploading and always wondered what happened so it was such a treat to see this. Those videos were live until probably the late 2010's if i remember and i should have downloaded them. Thank you. You have been there right with me as I have learned to become an artist. Thanks for all you do !

Michael is a cool dude. All relaxed and engaging. I wish I had skipped college, dropped out of high school like Norman Rockwell, spent a lifetime painting and drawing. Thanks again for continuing inspiration Jeff.

Got my long-awaited chance last week to visit the museum at New Salem, MA where Michael is Director. It is a fantastic presentation of Realism. I'd strongly recommend viewers to visit the museum if you're in New England. You'll see the works of some of your favorite artists.

It would be great if Michael could someday release all of those American Painting Video Magazine episodes on UA-cam. It would a shame if all of those interviews and demonstrations would be forgotten.

I've stumbled on Peter Brown a few months back and his work just blows me away. I was thrilled to now discover and listen to this podcast. As an amateur painter it is inspiring to hear such masters struggle with so many of the same challenges. Encourages me to press on and believe in myself and the journey.

Jeff, this was a stellar episode of the best art podcast out there. Just love Pete the street and I love the undraped artist and all the nuggets of knowledge and inspiration it provides me with. Best wishes from a middle aged aspiring landscape painter from Sweden dreaming of taking the big leap from the office chair to my plein air easel. Please keep doing what you do!

Jeff, this is the best art podcast on the internet. Your guests are amazing and the conversations are interesting and entertaining. Thanks for the effort you put into these.

He's right, unbleached titanium (or buff titanium) is very nice to have in mixes or on its own. But not all brands are the same hue. I have 2: Georgian (Daler Rowney) called "Buff Titanium" leans cool, like a raw umber plus white. Great shortcut color to temper a hue and not unlike a very light version of Vasari's "Ship Rock" or Holbein "Monochrome Tint Warm". If you're in the States try Plaza Brand "Unbleached Titanium". It's warmer than Georgian, like a lighter, very low chroma naples, great on it's own too, and doesn't go chalky as fast in mixes. Only regret is Plaza doesn't have 150ml size tubes of this one.

The artist with passion and work ethic will always rise above. I think talented or gifted artists just got to start early, not born with anything but passion. Agree with Pete! When out painting and some passer-by says so talented or what a gift or looks like a photo/better than a photo, I just say "Thanks" since it's too deep a discussion and I gotta paint!
