Aljazeera, please continue this type of production on other historical people and events. For example, there is massive under-education of the Haitian Revolution. It’s ethical consistency in comparison to the American and French Revolutions, it’s implications, legacy and the reactionary & antagonistic policies of both US and European powers to subvert Black democracies and Pan-Africanism across the globe… there is so much great history for us to learn, and so many myths of death culture for us to unlearn.
I'm so proud to be one of the most hated and dogged yet ever-surviving and thriving peoples of this world; African-Americans. I hope our Palestinian Brothers and Sisters will keep up the hope that they too can weather the storm of evil and come out victorious. 🙏🏾💚🌏✨️💪🏾
Just WOOOOWWWWW!!! What a great piece!!! Great art!!! Great texts!!! Great everything!!! Tears came rolling down my face. What are we humans doing to each other??? War for 10.000 years and no end in sight. Let´s all start to live in peace with each other and with Mother Earth!!! All these beautiful, different cultures have so much to give!!!
Wow! This was an amazing example of short form documentary, video essay, and storytelling. I just finished reading the two volume biography of DuBois recently and was so pleased to discover this video today. Fantastic work by everyone involved.
This is beautiful. Good job Marcela Pizarro, Williams Zouzouo and Pomona Pictures. Should be included in every middle school and high school curriculum somewhere, but US public schools don't come near Du Bois with a 124-foot pole because they know they are selling lies and confusion to students these days.
Al Jazeera this was Next Level and shows your depth🎉👏🏾. There are many who feel the world is overrun with ev-l and corruption. Many quietly giving up regardless to r-ce, country, s-x or religion. The only way the masses will have a chance to f-ght these dark forces that hope to consume humanity is to... Unite in Oneeness. All for one and one for all. 🎉🙏🏾💚🌏✨️💪🏾
This is beautiful. Al Jazeera never sell out and always tell the truth. The world needs publications like yours. --From the belly of the Beast, with love
I’m from Chicago and I want to say, this news channel presents more interesting and intellectual content than any other news site. Big ups to them for their continuous coverage of great content!
Thanks for showing this video. Funny how equality could only be seen through the lens of science fiction. I'm blown away at the brilliance of this video
WEB du Bois has a 26 floor library named after him at the UMass-Amherst Campus. Being a countryside, when I learned to drive a car, I would use this tall building as a lighthouse to know directions (this was before GPS and mobile phones).
Fantastic short-doc explainer on Du Bois as a visionary, literary, and man caught in between his circumstances. More of this please AJ team ! The Souls of Black Folk is an eye opening masterpiece. Thank you for producing this in a time of so much digital debris
Amazing short/medium size-content production. From the animation to the narration and historical accuracies. This was needed. Bravo All Jazeera for this! Need more!
Al Jazeera and the journalists who decided to in light us with this beautiful well done story Tank you I really appreciate the effort and it was marvelous watching it. Props to the creators
Identify in heart, mind, body, and soul with Dubois and this content -- except perhaps even more forlorn as i don't really 'see' which race i belong to, as a 'white' bolivian-austrian in downtown Cochabamba ... Thank you Mr. Dubois, brilliant. Echos of Ernst Cassirers' insights into the birth of conceptual and symbolic progress in ancient Mesopotamia, in his essays on philosophical anthropology and anthropological philosophy.
Good piece of history told. Adds to understanding of extreme slavery. Today it is now escalated to genocide of a race of people with scorched earth policy of earlier ages. Lethal combination. So nothing much has changed since Du Bois wrote. Peace🙏 be with all in the💫 world.
Is anyone able to provide a comment giving the name of the instrumental song/ sound played in the background, please? I really enjoy it. I tried to find the song/ sound myself using the names given in the credits, but to no avail.
It wouldn't be "all human life" if there was a human survivor. Take care with how you represent my population, some of us are not lazy with our linguistics.
Pause and read the credits. Read in the name of your lord who has created you from a sense of drop of blood. Read. Islam will take us there to complete his (WEB Dubious's) work. Free the minds.
124 years later and W E Du Bois is still proving relevant to what's happening now
@@longshank59 Indeed!

You're right to mention the Palestinians. Du Bois' colour line has everything to do with their plight, too.
I've nothing to say to this other than AMEN!
dm this is well put 👊
That’s right 👏🏾 we gon be alright. I believe that
if everyone hates you, maybe you're the problem.
I knew the music was South African, so when I saw Thabo's name in the credits I just smiled . 🇿🇦
@nhlamulomlambo7001 what is the name of the instrumental in the background please?

@icoachmyself9980 Yes! I agree!
Bless you. Light, Love, Life, Peace. Greetings from Bolivia.

This is such a well illustrated and produced video. Definitely adding this to my rotation when I teach about DuBois to my students.
Thank you for what you do 🙏🏾
@@khemanig2 Thanks for keeping Grandpa’s legacy alive in the hearts and minds of young people!

And they cloak it all in the Big Excuse- that grandpa was a communist!

Respeito é uma condição de Paz. Viva a Vida Viva.
This is really an amazing insight into WEB DuBois and how true his ideas ring through today
It is nice to see AJ doing explainer stories like this. Hopefully there will be many more.
This is a beautiful piece of art. Thank you
The more things change, the more they stay the same …
Beautiful production..
WEB Du Bois ⭐That was awesome!
The animation and narration are well done.
Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man would also be a good accompaniment to this video: dual conscience.

Thanks.
It's a shame how I'm just now learning about him. I only know because a high school in Louisville, close to my grandmother's house, is named after him
Facts!

❣️
Mehn, the narrator sounds so so much like Robert Freeman in Boondocks 🌟
It’s a great video. But I don’t love the voice used for DuBois.
Heavy.
❤❤❤
The high level of your background audio made this really hard for me to catch the actual story

Great video, beautiful work. The music was a bit loud for my taste but I'm sure you know best.
The person reading from the book is very hard to understand if you're not a speaker of African American vernacular.
It wouldn't be "all human life" if there was a human survivor.

It applies to us in the middle east: being Israel our problem
Du-bwah*
Lol the qataris talking about du Bois while they use forced migrant labor
The way the west talks about human rights along with racism, colonization and wars
The U.S. is going back to Jim Crow times, so this video is very prescient.
