Tucson is a city in and the county seat of Pima County, Arizona, United States, and is home to the University of Arizona. It is the second largest city in Arizona, with a population of 520,116 in the 2010 United States Census, while the 2015 estimated population of the entire Tucson metropolitan statistical area (MSA) was 980,263. The Tucson MSA forms part of the larger Tucson-Nogales combined statistical area (CSA), with a total population of 1,010,025 as of the 2010 Census. Tucson is the second most-populated city in Arizona behind Phoenix, both of which anchor the Arizona Sun Corridor. The city is 108 miles (174 km) southeast of Phoenix and 60 mi (97 km) north of the U.S.-Mexico border. Tucson is the 33rd largest city and the 58th largest metropolitan area in the United States (2014).
Major incorporated suburbs of Tucson include Oro Valley and Marana northwest of the city, Sahuarita south of the city, and South Tucson in an enclave south of downtown. Communities in the vicinity of Tucson (some within or overlapping the city limits) include Casas Adobes, Catalina Foothills, Flowing Wells, Midvale Park, Tanque Verde, Tortolita, and Vail. Towns outside the Tucson metro area include Benson to the southeast, Catalina and Oracle to the north, and Green Valley to the south.
Tucson was founded as a military fort by the Spanish when Hugo O'Conor authorized the construction of Presidio San Agustín del Tucsón in 1775. It was included in the state of Sonora after Mexico gained independence from the Spanish Empire in 1821. In 1853, the United States acquired a 29,670 square miles (76,840 km2) region of present-day southern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico from Mexico under the Gadsden Purchase. Tucson served as the capital of the Arizona Territory from 1867 to 1877. Tucson was Arizona's largest city by population during the territorial period and early statehood, until it was surpassed by Phoenix by 1920. Nevertheless, population growth remained strong during the late 20th century. In 2017, Tucson was the first American city to be designated a "City of Gastronomy" by UNESCO.
Tucson is sometimes referred to as "The Old Pueblo".

Similar to many other cities in the Western U.S., Tucson was developed by European Americans on a grid plan starting in the late 19th century, with the city center at Stone Avenue and Broadway Boulevard. While this intersection was initially near the geographic center of Tucson, that center has shifted as the city has expanded far to the east. Development to the west was effectively blocked by the Tucson Mountains. Covering a large geographic area, Tucson has many distinct neighborhoods.

I miss Tucson and the nice, almost always sunny, weather so much and wanted to see what it looks like now. I left at the beginning of the end... fall of 2020... There's no trash or homeless people, at least not on the main streets... There's not much traffic, either, though, so you must've been driving on a weekend morning. Everything's pretty much the same; only that Broadway has finally been finished near downtown and there are a few new buildings in that area. I used to live and work on the East side, so, even though your video is meant for a niche audience, if for any audience at all, I enjoyed it. 🙂Thank you.

Tucson will always be my most favourite city that I have called home, Not sure when I'll be able to visit again as I am half way across the world in Dubai. Thanks for letting me relive the beautiful drive down Broadway. Will surely appreciate more drives across other parts of town.

Take that same ride on a weekday between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm during heavy traffic and show the people what it’s REALLY like. This looks like an early Sunday or Saturday morning for sure. This is the equivalent of a filter on a selfie 🤳

Alum of the founding of KXCI/Tucson, 91.7, now 91.3 exactly 40 years ago. You pass right by the first studio going into downtown just west of the Ronstadt bus station, named for the family that ran the hardware store on the site, and the family of singer Linda Ronstadt. On the west of Stone, Church Street and where Broadway splits from Congress, near the south side but further down is the old Community Center, made famous by a Paul McCartney concert was held where the incident central to the Band on the Run story happened, the bell was the church bell in the same area, the undertaker was also clode by. The undertaker hid them.
