Great job Robert. I appreciate the closeup details on some of the connections as I’m not an electrician. Your videos have been very helpful as I setup my own system in the Pioneer 1000-5. Thank you!
Sorry for delayed reply. And thanks for the feedback! I do not have a separate inline fuse for the winch motor - just the contactor. Did you see the winch diagram on HondaSxS forum? There should be a link to it in the video description. You certainly add a fuse - but the instructions do not call for one or suggest it.
Thanks Justin! I used a 5 amp fuse for the switch to the fuse box as it has no load other than the back-light for the dash. I have a wiring diagram on the HondaSxS.com forum (see below). I just updated it as I was missing some items. hondasxs.com/threads/yet-another-pioneer-1000-dual-battery-install-video.24388/
Paul - thanks for pointing this out. It does indeed look like I forgot to post the info on the winch plate - sorry about that! I will fix this as soon as I can. In the meantime - I know I got the plate from the HondaSxS club store along with the winch. The club store has a mounting kit specifically for different vehicles. Go to HondaSxS.com club store and you should be able to find it.
@@bencote2219 thank you! I sometimes wonder if the detail makes the video waaaaay too long and where the balance should be. I don’t really know where the appetite is for quick review versus detailed instruction may lie - so I appreciate the feedback.
Good Morning, Rob. Another well planned & informative instructional video!! Thanks for all you do on behalf of the Club!
You are welcome - thanks for watching! I have 2 more little ones on the way - Cargo Buckle installation and GPS selection and install

Great video, really well done, Great job!! 👏🏻
Thanks - I had a good cast!
You have great videos! Is there a need for a main line fuse to protect the winch motor?

great video -one of the best on the wiring side. What size fuse did you use in your fuse box?

Tnx Doc!
I would have got the american made one but that's me
Nice video. Except your mispronunciation of “cleeeeeevis” hook. It has one e bro! 🤣
Haha - I deserve that
@@rsparre but seriously, you’re the man! Been waiting for this video!! Love the diagrams and thoroughness

@@rsparre the viewer can always speed up or fast forward a video. Better to have too much than too little detail in a video, in my opinion!
Just finished my winch install! I probably account for 25% of the total views of this video 🤣 thanks Rob!!!
