Steve deserved at least a top three based on the heat performances but it's the luck of the draw sometimes.
From an outsider who doesn't know anything about karting aside from what I've learn from this channel. I personally think it's a disgrace that such karts like the last one exist. I don't understand how you can have a competitive division if that division is purely random because of chance.
@@Kyle_Hubbard Mate, this isn't some super-funded top of the line karting competition. They're rental karts, shit happens to them and they aren't always gonna have the same pace. If you'd like to fund the maintenance of the karts because it's such a "disgrace" then either get to it or move along, because these are home-grown racing scenes that don't have the time or the care to worry about opinions of the likes of you.

It's not the right mindset to have for what is essentially rental karts with a league. No two rental karts are the same, even in Club100. He's not the only one out there with the problem, so he just looks silly being the only one giving up.

Probably because he did the 200 laps on GT sport which doesn't have a damage model hence no chance of mechanical trouble. Karting on the other hand involves real karts that need maintenance. I'm probably gonna get whooshed as the millenials put it 😂😂

My first time karting I went through the tyre wall and broke the visor of the helmet. It was a dry track that had puddles on and 12 year old me didn’t realise the difference that a wet track would have on slicks. 🤦🏻♂️😂

I didn't understand that as well. At the moment he says that his pace was off, and that it wasn't his day, he gets overtaken on a straight quite fast. Looked to me like his kart was just slower than the others.

that's the thing. That's why the anger. He knows he has the talent to be there, he didn't have the pace, because the car didn't have the pace in it.

Hey Super GT! You can convert video recorded accidentally in bullet time but it's a bit of a mission. Google "stitch double circular fisheye 360" and the first link should help. I had to use Avidemux to lower the framerate and split the dual fisheye into two seperate files, re-export those files using pixpro sp360 4k to add the metadata, then stitch them using pixpro 4k vr suite.
I gotta feel for the 34, I did that on my second testing session, spun out and I was the first one out too, 2 people nearly had a head on collision with me

Thats so shitty, brother. We all know if all the karts were 100% the same you'd have it in the bag no problem. Being stuck with a slow kart is luck of the draw I guess and Hopefully they can improve the way they keep these karts with a close BoP because if not then its not up to driver skill anymore. Maybe Like having a mini Dyno to test them all or something similar to see each karts power curve. Its not like they dont get money from everyone racing. They could invest more into some type of equipment to make their karts more equal.
Where you live is as overcast and shitty as my place. Oregon, on the Northwest of the US. 8-9 months out of the year its crappy weather. Ive lived here my whole life but im heading south soon to Southern California and cant wait for the clear skies and the 65-75 degree days most of the year.

What do you all think of the GT Sport penalty update? I think its a lot better than before making minor contacts no problem but maybe its too lax now? The track limits are the same but its turned lobbies into a damn bumper car race. I constantly get pit maneuvered, slammed into, or missiled on corners, and shot into the shadow realm while the person drives away penalty free.

Maserati 250F, 1952: Ferrari 500, 1950: Alfa Romeo 158, 1955: Mercedes-Benz W196
, 1961: Ferrari 156, 1962: BRM P57, 1963: Lotus 25
, 1964: Ferrari 158
, 1965: Lotus 33. 1967: Brabham BT24, 1968: Lotus 49B.
Polyphany should stop wasting time with the Vision GT crap and spend that time including these historic cars that mean something. I know it takes a lot longer to create a fake car from scratch than it does to create a actual real life car.
Are modern Formula 1 cars cool? Well, they might be cool in terms of their cutting-edge technology and exotic materials, but how many people look at a current F1 car and dream about it? Not many in my experiences. I think most people (regardless of age) will agree the Formula 1 cars of the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s had a personality that today’s machines just don’t have.

I agree with what you did...why suffer even more when given the slowest kart in the pack? It was pointless to continue so you did the right thing and really you deserve a refund for wasting your time.
I see you AB testing thumbnails here. I thought the one with the menu screen was a cool idea but this one with the cart actually drew my attention more for some reason. I actually didn't even see the exit button on the second thumbnail until I was just about to click.
Since you're obviously not taking your first bit of driving seriously, something switched on in the old noggin and calculated a Horizon style skill chain of 14,850 for the first 45 seconds ;)

I used to do Daytona karting. And yh the karts were the same. One race u r the fastest on track. Next race you have a shitter, either it breaks down or has no straight line speed. Was infinite frustration
When you have a certain ability, a certain skill that's above or bette than most others, avoiding obstacles in an almost miraculous way is just your karma and instinctive knowledge that guide your path and make you glide through any nastivities. I'm not saying you're extra special, just saying you're a driver who's "got it". You're good, plain and simple. It's like goal-getters being in the right spot at the right time. It's not magic, it's instinct. Those guys unconsioncly know where the ball is gonna be. Great drivers know where the obstacles are and instinctively avoid them. I might have scrunched-up a few words here and there. After all, I'm from Belgium and English is my fourth language. My twenty-first after a few Jack-Daniel's. Mechanical wear really ruins the competitiveness of races, do you think the end was because of the adrenaline, or because the kart wasn't up for the task?
Been there before, Qualified 3rd best out of 50ish cars at a national USAC race on a 1/2mile dirt oval at Manzanita Speedway, started 4th in the main just to drop all the way to 24th by lap 6 because we completely, missed the setup. It is very frustrating and I understand your pain!
Totally understanding the rage quit. Although I have never quit, I know and hate the feeling when your kart is just slower, although you as a driver are not. It really sucks. Good job in the other races, well done! By the way, in the beginning I thought you had finally got your Arai painted.... May I suggest purple :D sorry for the pun. But Hamilton also has a purple helmet. It also shows up in f1 TV interface when the sector time is the fastest.
