町一番のけちんぼう 1978 アニメ ("The Stingiest Man in Town" Japanese version)

Rankin/Bass's "The Stingiest Man in Town" was broadcast in both US and Japan in 1978, airing one day apart. An audio recording of the Japanese airing was found on UA-cam, so I decided to try matching it up with the footage.

I have no idea why this feels surreal to see these animated specials in the language of their country's animation, but it is. Of course, the only Japanese clips of a Rankin Bass production I've ever seen are this and the opening to the King Kong Show. Still, these were either all or mostly made in Japan and I always wondered if they actually got any dubs for themselves.

Very awesome dude! I been looking for any Japanese promo or dub for this special and here it is! You must know your Japanese well to have found the audio language link for it! Would be awesome to find any promotional material at all for this. Always wondered if Top Craft hired by Rankin Bass to animate the specials also showed the specials in Japan and I know this one for sure aired in 1978 over there also!
