Great video. One of the first things I was shown how to do in a workshop. How much extra thickness on top of the thickness of the laminate do you expect? Or does the contact adhesive stick it tight to the ply?

I'm just wondering... If I wanted to laminate a bevelled edge piece like on the high gloss kitchen cabinate doors, would I still use this technique and fold it around or would I need a heat gun or is it completely different entirely?
No you would need a thinner film and a vacuum press. Which you can make your self under 50$
using spray paint method is better than laminate in beveled edges.

Is it required to keep weights on ply or put it in clamps after sticking?
Not necessarily. But putting weights could provide better adhesion.
@@AnvinArganosa you use contact cement on both pieces -- once you put them together and press them, you're done.

If you wanted to laminate the edges also which would you do first?
Depends on the thing you do,if it's the door,do the front first and then laminate the edges,if it's table top,you laminate the edges first and then the top

Hindi ko pa po natry. Pero based sa feedback ng iba hindi po durable ang adhesive sticker compared sa HPL. Pero advantage naman is easy installation.

High Pressure Laminate po ang tawag sa material. Kasize po ng isang plywood. Pwede irolyo kaso kapag nasobrahan sa rolyo nabibiyak kaya alalay lang po. Around 400+ pesos ang white. Double price naman kapag may kulay or design.

Depende po. May mas mura na ready made pero hindi ganun ka ok ang quality ng materials na ginamit. Pag diy naman alam mo po yung quality pero pag mali ang pagkakagawa ay nasasayang ang materials.

Sa opinion ko po mas ok pa rin pag machine ang naglaminate dahil equally distributed ang pressure during lamination process compared sa manual. Pero for DIY purposes or small scale projects ok na rin ang manual as long as we follow the proper procedure of lamination.

Hi! Yes, but you need proper surface preparation before painting over it or else the paint will just peel off.

Pwede naman po pero not recommended. Pero kung need po talaga ilaminate ang plywood na may paint na siguraduhin lang po na hindi loose ang paint at dapat rough surface kaya need muna iliha.

Meron po special type ng laminate ang Formica brand for whiteboard purposes. Hindi ko pa po yun natry.

@@reeblaagan7310 M3700M po gamit ko sa video. Yan pa lang po nagamit ko na trimmer/router so wala akong ibang comparison. Pero so far maganda naman performance para sa akin since DIY lang naman ginagawa ko. Good quality and reasonable price. Pero we will see later on baka magtry ako ng ibang brand.

Wonderful but sorry, the video should have inclusion of edge banding tape. Why ? Accurate finish of laminate edge is a technique, however that may be a waste of time if the edge band which is the integral part of finishing is not attended simultaneously.

Pantay pa rin naman po. Basta evenly distributed lang ang contact cement at apply enough pressure pag inilagay na ang HPL.

Mejo alangan ako dun sa contact cement sa laminate. Ulbok ulbok dahil sobra sa rugby.
Napasobra nga po siguro pero wala naman pong umbok umbok. Medyo magastos lang po sa rugby pero flat naman po yung nalaminate.

Folks... this was one of those videos you want to forget the minute you see it, Virtually every step in the process was incorrect. I'm a cabinet pro with 50 years in the trades, The person who posted this was probably well intentioned but sadly not qualified. Check out next level carpentry or other pros before you try this at home.
