I am so glad I ran into your videos, as my balance is terrible. I had Physical Therapy till this Conronavirus got so bad. I had something to offer that might helps others. I am using the door way to do your exercises, as I'm more weak than I thought. I think your exercises are going to be great for me. Thank you.
I am happy to see some of the exercises I already do. Thanks for sharing these. I've needed these because I couldn't afford therapy after the stroke I had. I've had to learn my own exercises.
These are the exact same exercises I am currently doing with my therapist to treat my vertigo! I was amazed as you guys were going through it it's like oh I do that yeah I do that OK now we're doing this. You guys are amazing just like my therapist!
I appreciate all of your videos. Thank you. I’ve fallen and thank goodness I am able to get up. I have MS with weakness and I’m always looking for activities to improve my balance.
This is great information. I hope you will consider re-doing this video without all the background noise, and making the dos and don'ts clearer for those who are elderly or hard of hearing. I love your channel.
Bob and Brad, thank you so much for everything you do. So many people worldwide don't have access to a physical therapist. You have helped me so much with getting older and coping successfully with several difficult problems. Thank you again.
very helpful. i'm 21 years old and have no balance because of injury that i had in the past 3 months and all the orher videos are too hard to me do it but you guys help me well. THANK YOU SO MUCH
I sure remember doing what you are doing now so many times with MS and I sure am glad you are showing them for balance I really need those for sure. I used my fireplace mantel. Thanks. My neck pain came back after doing some packing . Dummy me. I have to. Sure am glad you are still doing videos
I first discovered Bob & Brad when I started working with seniors in 2020. The whole exercise routine they used was from your channel, same order even. I then discovered all of your other fantastic videos. I now work as a Wellness Coordinator and provide classes in IL, AL, Memory and Skilled. I find everything I need to produce great exercise, balance and fun from your channel. Thanks so much for all you do to strengthen and heal us. We are so grateful for you both, keep on Rockin!!
Great info!! I injured my Achilles tendon on my right foot and as I was rehabbing the physical therapist had me perform the touch toe on the pad exercise.Needless to say it was a challenge!!! Thanks again for all your videos
You guys rock. This is similar to exercises Rehab Institute of Chicago prescribed for me. You helped me with my sciatica and now you're helping me with my balance. Thanks so much!
Just came across this site.....very informative. I have been recovering for 6 months from laminectomy, discectomy, kyphoplasty, with 3 months of physical therapy! Continuing to work on recovery and plan to try the back routine with the ball. Thank you for sharing info!
I'm so glad I found your channel I'm 31 and I had a stroke 6 months ago and I just started physical therapy and ot watching you guys is easier then the place I go to telling me I'm a visual learner so this helps!
I started watching your channel last year when I had my first experience with vertigo which turned out to be BPPV. I watched your videos on BPPV and the Epley maneuver. I wished I lived close to you because I knew you could have helped me. Anyway, I did find an ENT in Miami, FL - 4 hours from where I live - and saw him. He confirmed the problem as being BPPV and performed the Epley maneuver. which helped for awhile. But every time I need information and demonstration on any subject relating to balance and exercise, it's you guys I turn to. Your information and demonstrations are complete and more helpful than any other site I have found. I just want to say Thank You. You guys really are the best!
First I’m 79. I was having problems with my feet and my balance, where I live in the UK we have streets that are cobbled and I felt very unsteady walking on them so avoided them, about three months ago I decided I must go to the doctor, I decided to look on line and came across a web site that recommended heel and toe walking, I tried it right away, my feet don’t bother me at all now and I make a point of walking down the cobbled streets on purpose now because I feel so confident.
I really have learned a lot from the two of you. You explain things so that we can understand the exercise and why not to do it other ways that might seem easier. You always explain the whys and the what is best and why it is best to do it certain ways. Thank you both for these videos that have helped me more than I can say. Keep up the good work. You surely have helped a lot of people improve their health and lives.
So greatful I found you! I am relatively young but I have both hips replaced and worry about falling. I have leapt up too fast several times and tripped over my feet!
Ooh, also wanted to add, that practicing while brushing your teeth is great advice, bc it becomes habitual. Our teacher taught us that when my mom and I started classes yrs ago.
I walk and lift weights at the gym, but I need something to improve and ensure my balance. I think these exercises will do it! Thanks for sharing, guys!
Really love your idea for the exercise with the non-slip circles! I work in geriatric rehab and will definitely make some to work with my patients. Keep up the good work Bob and Brad xx
Beautiful exercises !!! Thank u soooo much for these. You guys give absolutely practical exercises for every topic! So proud to be subscribed with you! God bless!!
Thank you so much for sharing the above excersize. You have explained and showed how to do the excercise. I now want to do the above shared excercise. I cannot raise my knee as briefed. To sway my legs i iniate movement from my hip muscles .
Thank you for sharing these videos on fall prevention. I've been working with my mother-in-law using your techniques. She is prone to falls. Would you please recommend some techniques to assist getting up from the floor after a fall? Thanks so much!
You talk about center of gravity. I live in a climate where black ice is a 6-7 month a year challenge. I'm elderly and have poor balance. How does a person with a protuberant abdomen stand to be correctly centered? Have you done a video about the elderly walking on ice? LOVE your videos. Watch tons of them. They have been amazingly helpful. You cured my piriformis issue!
For starters the higher you stand the higher your center of gravity. If you can work on your balance, hip strength, leg strength like with squats when you have ice drop those hips down (sink down). This lowers your center of gravity giving you more balance.
That is for sure a wake up call. Hope you take that wake up call and work on getting better balance! Glad you were not injured. What are you doing to improve your balance moving forward?
One of your best ! You guys obviously are speaking from vast experience and the paths of various progressions that you outline are doable if I do the work- would much prefer a pill, but that's not how reality is.
Love you guys and watch you all the time. The chatting in the background was a little distracting, but still could hear you. The only thing I do differently with my folks when practicing balance, is I have the kick off their shoes and socks. It's like trying to practice typing with mittens on.
Just a suggestion: when teaching to Seniors (my specialty) it is confusing to many when you show how to & how NOT to quickly close together, they may hear do this, now do this..........I would try incorporating a head turning side to side WHILE you show the DO NOT DO method or pitfall. For example: when yous say lateral leg lift, as you show NOT to turn the foot outward, shake your head as if to say NEVER/NO to this movement. :) I teach tons of classes, have for many years, & for those hard of hearing, I have had to adapt to never show the incorrect method without nodding in the DO NOT DO way. :)
I just discovered your site! I immediately Subscribed. I use a cane daily, especially now that Idaho is swathed in winter. But I also have a walker left over from a time when I had a spinal compression fracture. I try to use it for stability and support for some exercises. If you see opportunities for your patients to use walker besides chair, please mention. I like your team work and your periwinkle blue 👕 shirts.
this is great! I'm only 47 but notice that I've had some issues with balance. i've lost a lot of weight but now I have hip an kne arthritis. these may help!
Thanks for this video! I am in my sixties, and will definitely do these exercises. One question: I live in Japan, and we never EVER wear shoes in the house. I notice that you are both wearing shoes. I am hoping that these exercises are just as effective done barefoot, or in stocking feet.....??
First let me say great stuff I love your videos I refer back to them often. I am a ballroom dancer 17 yrs.. With all my problems I hate to give that up I have overcome hip bursitis pain, terrible acute plantar facisis pain pirformis syndrome and have done therapy for all including strengthening my whole body with exercises and thera bands for 1 1/2 years fatefully.. I refer to your videos too. Some of my stuff I got from you some from local therapy. Now having a problem of possible vertigo ( I did not test posiive with the eye movement when doc did the head movement) I am not convinced but seeing some more doctors soon. I am so off balance , a little dizzy at times? but the off balance is scary I am wanting to keep on and do something for balance so I can keep on. I am still dancing a little . Hard to give that up but had to tone it down to just a few steps. I did some of these and for sure its the same side as hip. Although I really was doing so good and now this balance thing. I am thinking it can't hurt to exercise specifically for balance too. Although the dancing was good for that. Some of these are a little hard . The foot on line thing is really hard for me tough slow fast is easier now I get why fast is easier, (I was doing these already but fast) I am going to add these to all I do hoping it improved by balance even though I have a problem more than being a senior but can't hurt.
Really helpful video, like most of them. I'd just like to comment that joining a tai chi class is the best thing I've done for my balance. I'm 64+ and the only exercise of yours that I wavered on was closing my eyes and stand on one foot.

Excellent video guys, very informative techniques. My doctor even know about your channel and recommends it.
I have completed the video and I will see which part I should do first and which ones to do as I get better.
Thank you sirs.
This video is really helpful for me. I have serious balance disorder. I am practising these exercises.

I am so thankful for the videos you're making, thank you. and great point about putting full foot on stepstool so as not to lose balance on step.

Thank you for sharing these videos on fall prevention. I've been working with my mother-in-law using your techniques. She is prone to falls. Would you please recommend some techniques to assist getting up from the floor after a fall? Thanks so much!
I need to set 30 mins a day to focus on these wonderful exercises. My cerebellum was nicked during 🧠 surgery. Thx!
These will be great for me! I have fallen more since getting older. I have a tremor in my hands and in my legs, so I have to be more careful.
Noise in the background is distracting but I love the exercise and see great promise for my walking and balance
These exercises are great, thanks for posting this video!
I need this type of help but couldn’t handle the noise in the background. I hope they make adjustments and make more videos. Thanks guys.
Sorry but our new mics have put and end to this.
Found the exercises excellent. They echo what I do with my physiotherapist and what we do in the physio-gym activities. Well done fellas - good one.

Annoying voices in background. Otherwise, balance exercises do help.
One of your best ! You guys obviously are speaking from vast experience and the paths of various progressions that you outline are doable if I do the work- would much prefer a pill, but that's not how reality is.
Excellent Video and useful Information!! Thank You !!!
Foot and ankle strength and stability are so important..I never realized!
Love you guys and watch you all the time. The chatting in the background was a little distracting, but still could hear you. The only thing I do differently with my folks when practicing balance, is I have the kick off their shoes and socks. It's like trying to practice typing with mittens on.
i could not even hear the chatting since i paid attention to these great therapists!!
Love your videos! Great and helpful information.

thank you for this!
Sounds like a very logical tip
One rule in teaching group exercise is to show the proper form not what one shouldn't be doing.
You guys are great! Thanks for sharing all these videos!
Love u guys! Happy to see u again!!! Great video!!!

Very helpful Video for Balance! Thanks!!

PLEASE POST SUGGEST SOME EXERCISES FOR NEURO PATIENT AND MYOPATHY PATIENT . THANKS.
PATIENT OF SPINAL NEURO ISSUES.
I just discovered your site! I immediately Subscribed. I use a cane daily, especially now that Idaho is swathed in winter. this is great! I'm only 47 but notice that I've had some issues with balance. i've lost a lot of weight but now I have hip an kne arthritis. these may help!
They are most famous and talented physiotherapists
Thanks for this video! I am in my sixties, and will definitely do these exercises. One question: I live in Japan, and we never EVER wear shoes in the house. I notice that you are both wearing shoes. I am hoping that these exercises are just as effective done barefoot, or in stocking feet.....??
This is awesome. Therapy is MEDICINE!
First let me say great stuff I love your videos I refer back to them often. I am a ballroom dancer 17 yrs.. Support for big belĺy whilworknng
Thx fyi. I attend an exercise class for seniors. The teacher told us you begin losing your balance@age 35
Really helpful video, like most of them. I'd just like to comment that joining a tai chi class is the best thing I've done for my balance. I'm 64+ and the only exercise of yours that I wavered on was closing my eyes and stand on one foot.
Loved your progressions! I'm a personal trainer for the over 50 population and I like having an assortment of functional balance exercises. thanks!
Thanks guys!!
I love you for all the help you give it is wonderful and so are you
Love love love you guys thank you so much for sharing this information.
I learned some used exercises, thanks.
Love your videos. They have really helped me. BUT, during this one I had a lot of background noise that made it difficult to focus on the exercises.
Thanks a lot guys
Excellent video, in my opinion of course.
Awesome! Such a great video 💪🏼
Why wasn't I given these exercises 16 years ago after my op? I've been left with permanent weakness primarily in my right leg, hip to toe and have been told by physios, doctors and surgeons for years there's nothing can be done to improve it. I'll be doing these exercises and hopefully they'll improve my balance and give me some strength back. I'm only 42 and it's depressing that I've been left in the condition I'm in when clearly there was help, the joys of the UKs national health service!
