    Definitely the maono dm30!

    Hi Mike! I literally went to Google looking for this EXACT comparison & im so happy that you did it! Oh and also, Maono did release a newer DM30 Mic that has controllable RGB lights inside the head of the mic and still has the bottom lights too!

      Thanks! Glad it was helpful- yes, I’ve seen that new DM30, looks awesome.

    The FIFINE A8. It has a warmer fuller sound. Its not a huge jump, but it is noticeable

    • @ThatMarkGilroy
      @ThatMarkGilroy  10 місяців тому

      Thanks for commenting. I agree the sound is warmer. I use a FiFine XLR in most of my videos now for the same reason.

      Thanks Emma - mine too! Close one between 2 and 3 - I'd probably use 2 for voiceover work or podcasting as it's so 'flat', but I like how bright and natural the Maono sounded.

      The A8 is also about 7$ cheaper 🥴

      Thanks @memoli801 - I just reviewed another Fifine mic that’s a little more premium and I love it. ua-cam.com/video/TLzGepen3l8/v-deo.html

    forget the mics - what camera are you using to film? the quality is ridiculously crisp!
    but seriously, the voice capture on the fifine was the best to me, although i wasn't fond of the odd feedback sound in the background. is there a way to get rid of that sound? if there isn't, i'd go with the maono instead.

    • @ThatMarkGilroy
      @ThatMarkGilroy  Рік тому

      Hi Sasha, thanks for that! All my recording gear is over at: kit.co/thatmarkgilroy/camera-vlogging-setup-2023
      For me it was SO close between fifine and maono (still kind of is). I might go back to using the fifine as I like having the RGBs in the foreground on my videos....

    The FIFINE A8 was the most pleasing to listen! Thinking of buying it, would you suggest any good quality boom arm at a reasonable price?

    • @ThatMarkGilroy
      @ThatMarkGilroy  Рік тому +2

      Thanks Marta! Yes it’s a really nice clean sound. I use mine on an old microphone stand from my musician days. From experience I wouldn’t try to save money with boom arms - Thronmax and Blue arms come highly recommended and feature good cable management.

      DJI Mic 2. It’s so good I’ve even started using it for studio/voiceover work.

    A8 and dm30 seemd very close in terms of sound quality with a very slight advantage to the maono dm30. but i would go for the a8 becaue it offers a pop filter and a shockmount.

    • @ThatMarkGilroy
      @ThatMarkGilroy  6 місяців тому

      Yes, the A8 has a slightly richer/deeper sound straight out of the mic which is very high quality. All personal preference of course but if I was streaming I'd probably use that. Because I mainly use a mic for recording audio that will be edited later in post-production, the flatter sound of the DM30 was my favourite.

    The mic 1 for me sounds the worst among the three
    The mic 2 has fine raw audio (best among the three)
    And mic 3 is good sounds natural with the low ends but can be fixed by plugins.
    I already ordered Maono DM30 before watching this video im excited and satisfied with the raw audio quality. A great upgrade from my old budget Mic which is Senda MM7 for music recording.

    Hello!
    Was looking at Maono
    But I have a little lisping burry voice, in this video sounds like DM30 makes all this sounds much harder and A8 would be better with my type of voice.
    What do you think?
    Maono sounds more colorful and masculine btw
