Yes we loved the note, but changes are inevitable. Samsung is doing really well with innovating while Apple is still giving us the iphone x with few extra changes every year.
Yeah but change just for the sake of change does not necessarily justify it , and clearly a folding screen is a bit of cool tech , but it does come with some very serious compromises that every person has to decide if they are happy to do that. This is in no way close to the ease of utility of a proper galaxy note for some functions , you don’t even get the full functionality of the S pen that even my beloved old note 9 has . Just using my note 9 for jotting down a quick note instantly takes away two extra steps you have to take to get the same utility of on the fold . And I have to be contrary to the gentleman in the video about the front screen ( though I respect his opinion and choice), for some of it is still way too narrow , some of us with less nimble fingers and bigger hands , that narrow front screen is terrible , the narrowest phone I ever owned was my galaxy S8+ which I hated with a passion for typing on was actually wider than the fold 4 front screen. And to me the whole point of having a front screen is so you don’t have to open flipping thing up every time. It still has the horrible crease on the main screen, and the question of folding screen longevity is still front and centre today if you look at a lot of long term owners reviews of folds . And your point about the iphone is taken , at the same time , the big iPhones though simple have very few weak spots are very refined do what they do very well , they have a nice big flat durable display that is easy on the eye and does have its own redeeming qualities , it is very easy to use and live with in daily life, and the big iphone costs less than the fold but more than likely in 5 years time it will still be in 99% of cases still be working just fine . And by comparison I truly doubt many of these fold devices will last 2 years of solid use let alone 3 due to that folding display , and in a lot of ways , the iphone is just easier to use as would the galaxy S 22 ultra be due to having the one largish screen But hey to each his own and by all means enjoy your fold. I could go further mention other grievances with the fold , but I dont want to sound too cranky 😉 , have a nice day mate.

Funny, this is my first Samsung fold and for the first day I forgot it opened. I liked the bar phone and it's really not that much heavier than my previous flip 3. It also feels lighter than the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Now three days in I have the screen unfolded for all my media and it's the best phone I've ever owned.

(Cant wait for my phone to come in) I’m currently practicing on a Samsung galaxy A01 so i can figure out the basics (Today was my first day) Its like learning how to walk again, except I’d rather learn how to walk lol. & I hate having to type hahah , instead of just pressing the button, but at the end of the day….i feel like a broke out of a mental prison. 🍎 🐍 👽
I came from the Note 10+ and now went to the Fold. I'm absolutely in love!!!! I'll never go to any other phone. I travel a lot for work and hated carrying both my tablet and phone. I don't have to worry now it does both it's amazing and super super quick. The multitasking is bar none the best 👌
Had mine for a couple of days now, I've come from the S22 Ultra. I have to say it's a phenomenal devise, my only concern before getting the Z fold 4 was the camera, but its just as good as the S22 Ultra in general use. Even just after a couple of days I wouldn't go back to the S22 Ultra, or even the S23 Ultra when it comes out. The fold out screen is so good for everything outside of a phone call, and the front screen has then sorted too. It feels slightly lighter than the S22 Ultra, is much easier to carry around, and the battery life is just as good.
Also coming from a S22 Ultra, but I got to say that the Camera is wayyyy better on the S22 Ultra, it has less noise on a Picture (I had the Eynos version) but for the rest the Fold destroys the S22 Ultra.
I'm still rocking a Note 10 5G + with 512gb Internal and 1tb sd, I was devastated when they ended the Note series and been waiting for something decent to come along, pre-ordered the Z fold 4 yesterday, I can't wait till it gets here😁😁😁

Why would you replace that perfectly good phone? I have an S10, and though I'm so attracted to the fold I'm more than satisfied with my s10, it works perfectly.
I think Samsung should have kept the length of the previous Fold or even added 3 to 4mm, and also added 3 to 4mm more in width on this Fold 4, that would surely have allowed them to increase the battery size 🔋 and to definitely silence the critics about the external display.
I would love that too however it becomes harder to do. By increasing size you actually have to go to a smaller battery weird right? And the hinge is harder and stuff

I'd been using the Note 9 for almost 4+ years now. Amazing amazing device and camera is top notch. Ordered fold 4 today in london. getting delivered tomorrow. Hope the camera is great and even if needs tweaking, a software update can do it.

Great video! I preordered a Fold4 last week and it will be my first foldable phone. I'm coming from a Galaxy S21 Ultra. The improvements to the camera and battery life is what ultimately made me finally make the jump. Can't wait for it to arrive.
I pre ordered mine as well and got it early. Your going to love it! I came from a iPhone 12 pro max and this fold 4 is awesome. I am finding myself using the front screen more than I thought. Battery life isn't bad at all. I get easily 1 day of normal use. The crease isn't bad. I'm used to it by now and I have been using the phone for 3 days. You can always turn the phone into landscape mode and text from the front screen so its not as cramped doing it in portrait mode.
I agree if you own a Fold 3 then there is no need to upgrade to the Fold 4. Seeing as Samsung will release the software features found on the Fold 4 to the Fold 3 via a software update soon

This device seems to take the pain of carrying two devices and get me almost everything I could want in one. My only concern is honestly disconnecting from the “ecosystem”. We’ll see show I feel when the phone comes on Friday!
I also have the S22 Ultra ordered the Fold 4 yesterday this will be my first foldable phone, I decided not to trade in my S22 Ultra as i want to see how i get on with the Fold 4 first, if I'm happy with it then I'll sell my S22 Ultra & probably my Tab S8 as well and recoup a good chunk of the £1649 back.
I wish #samsung would actually just give you the option to choose whether you needed the unit shipped with a charging brink and cable or not. If you do, the price is whatever the price is. If you didn't need the cable and brink, then maybe the unit price could be say $50-$100 cheaper. It would be an even smaller box therefore reducing the footprint. Thoughts anyone?
Good stuff, they only thing I dont agree with is putting the s-pen in the fold. The larger s-pen (pro especially) are easier to use and feel more natural then the thin spen you get in the Ultra. I have had several editions of the Note and would use the larger s-pen on all of them (Bamboo makes a good version of the s-pen). I was pleased they included the s-pen case with preorders (smart move).
As with cameras, the best pen is the one you have on you. Which is always the case with one that's housed literally inside the device without bothering you. It doesn't take away your ability to use one of the separate, completely idiotic clipless pens everybody's been pumping out as of late that can't be properly carried in a suit or shirt pocket.
With the preorder bonus, promotion credits, galaxy s10 trade in, and watch+buds bundle, the total with tax was around $1400. Really a no brainer for my upgrade.
More than likely as the fold series goes forward they will eventually make a fold plus series, one with bigger screens and the spen intergraded inside with the best of everything. Including a bigger price tag lol 😂😂😂

I switched from the note 20 ultra. I received my fold 4 on Friday. I have 0 regrets. I can't go back to a regular slab phone again. Both screens on the fold are so useful. There's no need to carry tablet around anymore either. If you're still on the fence, do it! You won't regret it.
The fold is nice it’s just to much phone for me don’t want to carry around a big tablet I do understand that most people need or want that.. The flip 4 is soo perfect for me I own a iPhone 12 and 13 pro and just traded in my s22 ultra …flip 4 for me is better than any iPhone
So coming from someone that owns the fold 3.... I was a person that use to always buy a tablet because I wanted a slightly larger screen for my everyday at home media content but I slowly...I always gravitated right back to my cell phone. So I used to waste so much money buying a tablet that I never used. But with this phone I'm able to fulfill both at the same time. Most comments from people that don't own it always talk about the crease or always talk about the narrow of the front facing screen. One thing I can guarantee you those criticisms go away.
It's getting more expensive yet no charger adptr and earbuds. I dont like the Fold4 pre-order package. Still has to spend more just for some discounted earbuds etc...
Traded in a cracked S7 edge I had laying around and got Buds Pro 2, the case and s pen and the 512 gbs storage Fold 4 for $1500 $60 a month for two years I'm so excited it just shipped. Still have my Pixel 6 that I can sell also

It will be interesting to see if after the honeymoon period if current fold owners are enamoured with it , there are a lot of reviews from owners that changed their tune after a period . I can see the some of the good points , but for its less good points I am way less forgiving . Way too many compromises for me, and I wish that was not the case. I still miss the old school fully featured galaxy note models.

My S22 Ultra is a great phone, but I'll trade in early if this unfolded ZFold 4 /is/ a tablet. So, what's the verdict? Will I need special apps for it to behave like a tablet? Waited so long for samsung to get it right! That's why I have the flip 3 since it came out. Wow samsung is a beast and is not giving up on the future and remembering when phones were fun. Shout out to Mr mobile! Anyways I love the clamshell always have just wish the cover screen would compete with the razr!
I like the review but the cost aspect. Ehhh I mean if you utilize Samsung trade in system it takes ALOT off. Cheaper then the laptops and buds and watch you mentioned. It knocked down the 512gb model to just about 800 dollars for me. Which is very reasonable for what you get. I'm impressed with this thing. Make the trade in worth it though
Important to note there have been many different deals with different carriers since the release and they're still going on. I got my fold for $1099, roughly just under the S22 Ultra. I upgraded from my Note 20 Ultra and I must say I'm just as impressed. I somewhat disagree with getting a cheap laptop, cheaper phone and an accessory. The Dex feature and $40 of accessories like a bluetooth keyboard and mouse really replaces having two devices, and as mentioned, lots of different sales with all the carriers and even with Samsung themselves.
I've been a note owner since Note 3 so I've been reluctant to buy anything that wasn't a note. The Fold 4 now has an S Pen (you can buy separately) but it appears to be back ordered along with the case that has a nifty little slot to slide your pen in to. My pre-ordered phone doesn't come in until next so I'm hoping the case and pen are available soon. I do think these should have come either free or as an option with my service provider as it seems a bit of an inconvenience to go hunting for these vital accessories.

Now we all got phablets Samsung started the curve edge display, ppl said it was pointless, but other Android manufacturers copied it Samsung popularized the foldable phone, ppl said its pointless. Now everyone jumping on the bandwagon. But somehow, Apple is gonna get credit for it when they release theirs in 2030. You know when they "make it better" as they claim
Here's my opinion: Samsung has pioneered this tech, because flexible OLED displays are going to be key for all areas of our lives. From TVs to billboards and even in-car dashboard displays. Whether Apple makes their own folding device is by-the-by. Samsung will have an insurmountable lead by then with the actual raw display tech and Apple will likely need Samsung Display to produce their panels. It's a win-win as we get cool tech and then Samsung pulls the major marketshare!
if you buy it from samsung you can claim a free case with the new S-pen included, that's enough to justify the price for me personally..oh and you get 2 of those tracker tags as well for free.
I got the Fold 4 I came from the Note 20 Ultra - and I love the Fold. It does take some getting used to and the smaller keyboard on the front screen is kinda dumb - but I love the phone. I would love to see Samsung come out with a tri-fold display next.
I know that iphones are better in terms of AP. Apple's bionic chipset series are so fast. They perform much better when gaming. However, their phones are summarized by one word: "boring" The perfect customization (both in terms of software and appearance) of iphone is vanilla, while things like galaxy fold may have infinite ways to decorate.
Samsung is currently offering $300 credit if you order the fold for, so for about $1860 you can get the fold 4, watch 5, and buds 2 pro, so that makes a bit of a harder choice if you're looking to get into a particular ecosystem.
If you have an AT&T unlimited plan, they pretty much take in any Galaxy for $1,000 credit towards the Fold 4. They're even giving $1,000 for my 32gb S6 lol, those are like $30 on eBay
I am going to do everything i can to get the fold, but if we can get to the point we have the tri-fold phone/tablets from Westworld i will truly be happy.
Re people who lament the slightly smaller outer screen vs a normal phone and a slightly smaller inner screen vs a tablet, they're missing the point. The fold is perfect for people who don't want a giant phone all the time but what something more like an iPhone mini which can then fold out to a mini tablet when needed. The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is great, slim n all that, but the outer is so wide and still thicker than a normal phone so one handed use is not really possible. The fold 4 is more of a goldilocks form factor!
How much of a difference does the outer screen make to one handed use? I still have the Fold 2, as the Fold 3 was not an upgrade on the outer screen. This is my biggest gripe.

It seems a best buy for those with mid life galaxy phones like me. I have an S20+ which Samsung is giving US$700 for. So with that, I got the Fold 4 with 512GB, Standing Case with S Pen, Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and Buds Pro 2 all for US$1275 +tax.
I have the Galaxy fold 3, it was a great phone for about 8 months until a couple of days ago I opened the phone and heard a "crinkle" sound. The big screen was dead. rated for 100,000 folds my ass. Folding phones aren't there yet to being daily drivers in my opinion

I traded in my iPhone for the z fold 2 a few years ago and went back to iOS after 30 days. I’m just too invested to apples eco system. Having said that, I ordered the Fold 4 and plan to hang onto my mini for when I don’t want to carry around this larger device.
I have. I’m a phone junky. I have them all. I have the iPhone 13 Pro Max, S22 Ultra, Google Pixel 6 Pro, and the Fold 3. For overall media consumption and productivity nothing beats the Fold. The only reason I quit using it is I liked the zoom capabilities on the S22 Ultra. As for my iPhone, I only use it to communicate with the family on iMessage. The Fold 4 will blow the iPhone 11 Pro out of the water, but it will ultimately will depend on what you use your phone mostly for

I've had my note 20ultra 5g for a while now and finally decided to pull the trigger on the fold 4, I got 900us trade in credit for it! plus I bought the watch5 pro/buds 2 pro bundle and used the student discount program, in total I purchased the fold 4 the headphones and the watch 5 pro for around 1200 not bad at all considering the phone itself is "1700" . Like I said before samsung doesn't get the praise they deserve for their trade in incentives!!!

Is the low end of the speakers better than the sub par sound from the S22 Ultra?
I am thinking of trading my S22 Ultra for this but I'm still debating if I should. I will miss the 10x zoom optical.

I preordered a Fold4 last week and it will be my first foldable phone. I'm coming from a Galaxy S21 Ultra. The improvements to the camera and battery life is what ultimately made me finally make the jump. Can't wait for it to arrive.
I pre ordered mine as well and got it early. Your going to love it! I came from a iPhone 12 pro max and this fold 4 is awesome. I am finding myself using the front screen more than I thought. Battery life isn't bad at all. I get easily 1 day of normal use. The crease isn't bad. I'm used to it by now and I have been using the phone for 3 days. You can always turn the phone into landscape mode and text from the front screen so its not as cramped doing it in portrait mode.
As a zfold 3 owner I will be waiting g for the fold 5/6.
Although it's a great buy for anyone purchasing their 1st high end foldable.
I agree if you own a Fold 3 then there is no need to upgrade to the Fold 4. Seeing as Samsung will release the software features found on the Fold 4 to the Fold 3 via a software update soon

This device seems to take the pain of carrying two devices and get me almost everything I could want in one. My only concern is honestly disconnecting from the “ecosystem”. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and have had an iPhone since the 4S came out. Going to give this a shot and see how I like it. Should be here this week.
I also have the S22 Ultra ordered the Fold 4 yesterday this will be my first foldable phone, I decided not to trade in my S22 Ultra as i want to see how i get on with the Fold 4 first, if I'm happy with it then I'll sell my S22 Ultra & probably my Tab S8 as well and recoup a good chunk of the £1649 back.

I wish #samsung would actually just give you the option to choose whether you needed the unit shipped with a charging brink and cable or not. If you do, the price is whatever the price is. If you didn't need the cable and brink, then maybe the unit price could be say $50-$100 cheaper. It would be an even smaller box therefore reducing the footprint. Thoughts anyone?

Good stuff, they only thing I dont agree with is putting the s-pen in the fold. The larger s-pen (pro especially) are easier to use and feel more natural then the thin spen you get in the Ultra. I have had several editions of the Note and would use the larger s-pen on all of them (Bamboo makes a good version of the s-pen). I was pleased they included the s-pen case with preorders (smart move).
As with cameras, the best pen is the one you have on you. Which is always the case with one that's housed literally inside the device without bothering you. It doesn't take away your ability to use one of the separate, completely idiotic clipless pens everybody's been pumping out as of late that can't be properly carried in a suit or shirt pocket.
With the preorder bonus, promotion credits, galaxy s10 trade in, and watch+buds bundle, the total with tax was around $1400. Really a no brainer for my upgrade.

I am currently using a NOTE 20 ULTRA 5g, was concerned about small front screen, but seeing the reviews decided to go for fold 4. Need comments from people who shifted from s22 ultra and note phones to fold 4 on the front screen
I switched from the note 20 ultra. I received my fold 4 on Friday. I have 0 regrets. I can't go back to a regular slab phone again. Both screens on the fold are so useful. There's no need to carry tablet around anymore either. If you're still on the fence, do it! You won't regret it.
Note 20 ultra user here. Just got the fold 4. front screen isn't so bad! It really feels like I have two devices merged into one. Love it.

The fold is nice it’s just to much phone for me don’t want to carry around a big tablet I do understand that most people need or want that.. The flip 4 is soo perfect for me I own a iPhone 12 and 13 pro and just traded in my s22 ultra …flip 4 for me is better than any iPhone

So coming from someone that owns the fold 3.... I was a person that use to always buy a tablet because I wanted a slightly larger screen for my everyday at home media content but I slowly...I always gravitated right back to my cell phone.
So I used to waste so much money buying a tablet that I never used.
But with this phone I'm able to fulfill both at the same time. Most comments from people that don't own it always talk about the crease or always talk about the narrow of the front facing screen. One thing I can guarantee you those criticisms go away.
Can't say I like folding phones, I'll keep my S22 ultra until the s23 ultra.

Amen on the curved screen. I have had every note series and when they went curved edges it was the only thing that annoys me every time I use the pen.

It will be interesting to see if after the honeymoon period if current fold owners are enamoured with it , there are a lot of reviews from owners that changed their tune after a period .
I can see the some of the good points , but for its less good points I am way less forgiving .
Way too many compromises for me, and I wish that was not the case.
I still miss the old school fully featured galaxy note models.
The Z Fold4 is worth because it will replace your smartphone, your laptop and tablet ..plus it fits in your pocket...

I like the review but the cost aspect. Ehhh I mean if you utilize Samsung trade in system it takes ALOT off. Cheaper then the laptops and buds and watch you mentioned. It knocked down the 512gb model to just about 800 dollars for me. Which is very reasonable for what you get. I'm impressed with this thing. Make the trade in worth it though

Important to note there have been many different deals with different carriers since the release and they're still going on. I got my fold for $1099, roughly just under the S22 Ultra. I upgraded from my Note 20 Ultra and I must say I'm just as impressed. I somewhat disagree with getting a cheap laptop, cheaper phone and an accessory. The Dex feature and $40 of accessories like a bluetooth keyboard and mouse really replaces having two devices, and as mentioned, lots of different sales with all the carriers and even with Samsung themselves.

Tempted to go from IP12 pro max to fold 4. If only it had more optical zoom and higher IP rating.
I've been a note owner since Note 3 so I've been reluctant to buy anything that wasn't a note. The Fold 4 now has an S Pen (you can buy separately) but it appears to be back ordered along with the case that has a nifty little slot to slide your pen in to. My pre-ordered phone doesn't come in until next so I'm hoping the case and pen are available soon. I do think these should have come either free or as an option with my service provider as it seems a bit of an inconvenience to go hunting for these vital accessories.

Here's my opinion: Samsung has pioneered this tech, because flexible OLED displays are going to be key for all areas of our lives. From TVs to billboards and even in-car dashboard displays. Whether Apple makes their own folding device is by-the-by. Samsung will have an insurmountable lead by then with the actual raw display tech and Apple will likely need Samsung Display to produce their panels. It's a win-win as we get cool tech and then Samsung pulls the major marketshare!

I got the Fold 4 I came from the Note 20 Ultra - and I love the Fold. It does take some getting used to and the smaller keyboard on the front screen is kinda dumb - but I love the phone. I would love to see Samsung come out with a tri-fold display next.

I know that iphones are better in terms of AP. Apple's bionic chipset series are so fast.
They perform much better when gaming. However, their phones are summarized by one word: "boring"
The perfect customization (both in terms of software and appearance) of iphone is vanilla, while things like galaxy fold may have infinite ways to decorate.
my only one complain is the weight, its not for one hand operation when its open at all and when closed the screen is small (does the job but small)

Samsung is currently offering $300 credit if you order the fold for, so for about $1860 you can get the fold 4, watch 5, and buds 2 pro, so that makes a bit of a harder choice if you're looking to get into a particular ecosystem.

I got the watch 5 pro, buds 2 pro, and fold 4 510g for $860 after taxes. Had to sell the fold 3 back to get $1k back.
If you have an AT&T unlimited plan, they pretty much take in any Galaxy for $1,000 credit towards the Fold 4. They're even giving $1,000 for my 32gb S6 lol, those are like $30 on eBay

Re people who lament the slightly smaller outer screen vs a normal phone and a slightly smaller inner screen vs a tablet, they're missing the point. The fold is perfect for people who don't want a giant phone all the time but what something more like an iPhone mini which can then fold out to a mini tablet when needed. The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is great, slim n all that, but the outer is so wide and still thicker than a normal phone so one handed use is not really possible. The fold 4 is more of a goldilocks form factor!

How much of a difference does the outer screen make to one handed use? I still have the Fold 2, as the Fold 3 was not an upgrade on the outer screen. This is my biggest gripe.

I finally gave in and ordered today. My friend's Fold 3 won me over.
It seems a best buy for those with mid life galaxy phones like me. I have an S20+ which Samsung is giving US$700 for. So with that, I got the Fold 4 with 512GB, Standing Case with S Pen, Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and Buds Pro 2 all for US$1275 +tax.

I have the Galaxy fold 3, it was a great phone for about 8 months until a couple of days ago I opened the phone and heard a "crinkle" sound. The big screen was dead. rated for 100,000 folds my ass. Folding phones aren't there yet to being daily drivers in my opinion

I traded in my iPhone for the z fold 2 a few years ago and went back to iOS after 30 days. I’m just too invested to apples eco system. Having said that, I ordered the Fold 4 and plan to hang onto my mini for when I don’t want to carry around this larger device.
I have. I’m a phone junky. I have them all. I have the iPhone 13 Pro Max, S22 Ultra, Google Pixel 6 Pro, and the Fold 3. For overall media consumption and productivity nothing beats the Fold. The only reason I quit using it is I liked the zoom capabilities on the S22 Ultra. As for my iPhone, I only use it to communicate with the family on iMessage.
The Fold 4 will blow the iPhone 11 Pro out of the water, but it will ultimately will depend on what you use your phone mostly for

Alot of people praise samsung for their phones and its well deserved but I feel like they don't get the recognition they deserve for giving such great trade in incentives! I've had my note 20ultra 5g for a while now and finally decided to pull the trigger on the fold 4, I got 900us trade in credit for it! plus I bought the watch5 pro/buds 2 pro bundle and used the student discount program, in total I purchased the fold 4 the headphones and the watch 5 pro for around 1200 not bad at all considering the phone itself is "1700" . Like I said before samsung doesn't get the praise they deserve for their trade in incentives!!!
