- The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 isn't particularly different from last year's model, but it has somehow found a way to become my main device for the last week. Everything from multitasking to media consumption on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is slightly refined, but it would seem that this foldable wasn't what changed -- maybe what changed... was me.

The problem here is that shills like you 'just' use it for a week or a month... not enough to see the problem... foldables are darn expensive phones, extremely expensive to repair (if not impossible due to the lack of available components) and they break WITH NORMAL USE. Particularly cracked or damaged/warped screens after a half year of use... that is unacceptable seen the price of the phone.

This will be my first android phone. I have always had iPhone and worked 24x7 with my life in my phone so I was afraid to attempt a change. I retired early and can afford a learning curve. I was tired of year after year never getting to enjoy a phone that felt new. Apple hardware is nice and it is reliable. But the design of the iPhone is long overdue for a refresh in my opinion. I’m anxious about this but excited. Wish me luck.

I was a huge apple fan. Had all there phone up to the iPhone X.
Then I made the switch to Samsung Note and it's the best move I've made as far as phones go
I really like apple hardware but i prefer android software to iOS.

@@drew311stylee I feel you, been switching since the galaxy S2, almost got them all! Just got the Fold 4 in exchange of my iPhone 13 pro max and I’m loving it so far. Contrary to the S22 ultra (That I owned), the Fold really bring a new, different user experience. I love using the front screen for all regular stuff and then, switching to the big one for media consumption
Had the Flip 3, barely used it.
Got a nice trade in for the Fold 4, which should be arriving this Tuesday.

Picked up the Flip 3 specifically to use as a smaller form factor EDC and it just never stuck, didnt enjoy the small outside screen and the inside screen wasn’t compelling. Shitty cameras at 1800.00 dollars is just unacceptable. Samsung is flopping on purpose due to the lack of foldable competition in the states and it shows. I owned the fold 3 and loved the viewing experience but cameras are 🗑 👎 .
You don't understand the tech. There Is no room for the S22 Ultra cameras. Samsung would have to make the Fold 4 even thicker and that would put people off. The cameras are perfectly fine for most people. You need to buy devices which suit you best.

The multi tasking demo was REALLY useful thank you. I've had it on my fold 3 for a year but never us it just because I never bother to go into he running tasks and set up split screen. This is a game changer, even though it's so simple

I never used my flip 3. The battery life was horrible. I ended up switching back to my iphone. Hope the Fold 4 lives up to the hype! Because Im excited to try it out.

I've noticed the gray green looks gray until you put it next to something like graphite or a true gray and then you really start to see how green it is, it's kind of dumb but grey green is a great name for it.
I used to watch Joshua years ago before I switched to Apple. Here I am switching back to android for the Fold 4 and he’s STILL IN THE GAME?! This is awesome, one of the best to ever do it 😎

@@GMDII My job had recently bought everyone iPhones for our work phones and gave us the option to use it as our personal. So I cancelled my personal line (Samsung Galaxy 2) & daily’d the iPhone ever since.
Over the years, I got sucked deeper into the Apple ecosystem with the AirPods, MacBook, Apple Watch, Apple TV..you name it. Never thought twice about android, not because I didn’t like it, I just was surrounded by apple… until my dad showed me the Fold 3 earlier this year and that blew my mind. Been patiently waiting for the Fold 4 to release and I’m so excited to switch back. Preordered it along along with the Buds 2 & Watch 5 Pro 😎…oh and I’m single-handedly ruining my friends iPhone group chat & I couldn’t be any happier 😂
@@GMDII because they have better security and stability of the phone apple will be making foldabls and flip phones possibly will go on sale around 2024-2025 depends they waiting and seeing other publishers release theirs and see what improvements they can do from apples end when it comes to making foldable phones like what feature can be added what materials etc it is obviously going to be expensive because apple uses higher technologies than android software apple dominates it but android is just feels like an old tech i even was tempting to switch to fold 4 but then again what if apple made theirs and turns out to be better among the rest of them might as-well just wait and see in my opinion Apple products are really good but the pricing is the problem that doesn’t mean it makes the company as you call it Apple Hell.

@@yomain7227 it’s just apples iMessage. Tons of features built right into the native messenger app instead of having to download another app like WhatsApp or fb messenger.

i swopped my z fold 4 with my friend's S23 ultra. and 3 days i asked if we can swop back. if you really using the phone, like having the multiple running apps and us it for google books or amazon kindle. i dont think you can go back. cause with the s23U i had to get my ipad out again.. that was like going backwards again. so if you are into reading and stuff, this replaces two devices into one

Amazing review. I'm going from a S22 ultra to the z fold 4 and I'm really excited about switching. I don't use the s-pen that much and I have terrible handwriting haha. I think I'll be using the fold more for it's big screen and since I have smaller hands I think the cover screen will be much better for me.
Same reason I switched from a Note 20 Ultra to the Fold 4. I have small hands so the cover screen is actually nice, and the large main screen is fantastic when you want it. You'll love it once you have it.
Yes same for me lol but I had 2 s22 ultra so still keeping one for the camera until samsung actually put it on the fold..wanna experience that tablet and multi screen
I went from the Note 20 Ultra to the fold 4, and i'm really struggling with the immense downgrade on the screen DPI. There's pretty noticeable pixel bleeding (which samsung hides well with the preloaded dark scheme), but if you use it with the brightness high on light mode you'll almost cringe at the quality unfortunately. Not everyone has sharp eyesight though, or cares about clarity so it's definitely not a deak-breaker for everyone. I'm a bit disappointed though and contending with the massive pros it offers like 120hz display and multitasking.
@@Bitplex I don't have any issues with DPI or pixel bleeding even at high brightness. Ultimately I believe it's a huge overall upgrade from the Note 20 Ultra for me and has amazing pros that ultimately outweigh any small cons.

I am making the Fold 4 my first fordable. This is the first one felt nice to use as a normal phone to me and the software finally seems to be in a place which would encourage me to multitask. Mine should arrive tomorrow. Cant wait.

Gave my wife my iPhone 13 Pro Max and ordered my Fold 4. First Fold Device. We’ll see how it works out. See a lot of Great Pre-Reviews and a lot of people who love it and then there’s a lot of people who are Samsung haters so it was hard to make the choice. Case comes with the s-pen which alot of people hate that it doesn’t slide into the phone itself. Don’t see why that’s a problem. Lol Can’t wait to try out the new Fold

Me too. Trading in my S22 Ultra that I just bought in February. I'm also getting a Watch 5 44mm with the Buds Pro 2. The trade in value, and accessories credit was too good to pass up.

Your use case is the same as mine - The entire experience has made it so that when I do what I normally do, I do it better and faster BECAUSE the listed reasons. I don't even use my iPad Pro anymore.
I'm jumping into this after having the Note10+, been waiting the fold z since I first saw them. I figured it was finally time and this review makes me even more excited cause mine shows up later today 😁
Note 10+ here, too (Note 4 and 8, as well!). I've been super interested in the foldable since they came out. This gen felt like the kinks were worked out and the ecosystem has had time to adapt, to a degree.
A friend had the first gen, it didn't feel fully cooked yet.
Mine should be in tomorrow. Can't wait. This battery on my Note 10+ is starting to drain fairly quickly!

I went from the Note 10 Plus to the Z Fold 4 and the upgrade is HUGE. Signal strength is way better and data download speeds are through the roof! Then there's zero stutter that my Exynos Note 10 Plus had whilst scrolling through photos in the gallery etc. Then there's the big screen...
The flip 3 had dismal battery & some apps didn't work well. The Fold 4 hopefully will solve some of those issues. Seems like most of us want it because of the tablet. Also some good trade ins plus all the freebies and bumped up memory capacity. Seems like Korea is embracing the future at lightning speeds, electric cars too.

Who uses a smart phone without a case? my Fold does not rock on a flat surface because I use a case, the same as it does not matter what colour the phone is or what texture the back of the phone is

Coming from an iPhone 13 pro the fold 4 was a huge jump for me in terms of functionality and enjoyment.
I read manga and watch anime on it unfolded which is just amazing using saikou. I played metroid prime recently using the dolphin emulator (connected switch remotes) and playing games in general from the play store us ace.
It's a scary thought as I'm so attached to the fold 4 and couldn't imagine using another phone
I am actually watching this video right now on my brand new Samsung fold 4. Traded my s22 ultra for it and let me tell you it's been forever! Literally forever since I've been this excited for a phone that I am holding I don't think I can ever go back and I'm willing to put up with the size for this screen real estate and just ridiculous it feels like, the days of when a phone would come out and be all new that nuance has been lost for so long.

Got my fold 4 a week ago was meant to be 26th but guess I'm lucky, 1st fold phone and so far it's very nice experience but scary at same time haha

I've never understood the gripe on the wobble when set on the table, why focus hard on that? Its a non issue, since if you're using your phone , its always gonna be in your hands and not on the table.
And 90% of other phones do the same thing if caseless!
Eating a meal, putting the phone down, and sometimes a notification comes in that needs addressing. Pressing and swiping and typing makes it rock. It's a small thing, but it happens so I mention it
@@jvtechtea Not to mention it makes S-Pen usage a pain if you plan on using your phone like a notepad. It's probably not gonna be as bad on the Fold, but the camera sensor on my Note 20 U gets on my nerves when I'm trying to write

WAY TO PRICEY! The plastic inner screen seems way too delicate for any type of scratches. Even an accidental scratch from your nail will be horrific!
The Fold 4 is a great phone but I will stick with my Fold 3 because is larger. Incremental upgrades.
They are identical, The only difference is that actually the fold 4 smaller screen is actually larger than the Fold 3's

I have watched many videos and no one wants to answer this question. I will not be pre-ordering the phone for this reason. Something tells me a lot of people will be disappointed. Information from influencers should be taken with a lot of caution... I definitely don't believe it's 9 hours!
Based on sakitech review, zf4 has longer battery life and cooler temperature than s22 ultra.. even s22 has more battery mAh capacities

Going from the note 20 ultra to the fold 4, the $1000 credit for trade in is a pretty good deal might miss my note a bit but idk we'll see I should get my fold tomorrow.
The note 20 ultra is in my opinion the best phone that's ever been made.. I don't see it getting better for at least 5 years.

I've noticed this since the Galaxy S7 edge.
Something happens to the video in low light with Galaxy phones since the Galaxy S7 edge.. You notice this weird shaky motion in the video It's not optical image stabilization. It's the digital image stabilization in camera settings. For some reason at night it absolutely makes everything look shaky and weird. Shut it off when you doing low light stuff and it works perfectly.
I think it works very well when It's light out. That's why you notice when you compare that to other phones like the iPhone 13 or 14 The stabilization is so much better on the Galaxy turning the day.. It's because of the extra digital stabilization..
Shut it off and you'll see. I always keep mine off.
I can't believe they haven't fixed this yet or haven't even talked about it yet.
It drove me crazy no one could figure it out until I finally figured it out with my S7 edge a long time ago.

REALLY STINKS THAT SAMSUNG COULDN'T MAKE A CASE OR AN OPTION TO PROTECT THE HINGE.. HOW RIDICULOUS.
That hinge just left wide open sticking out It's going to get beat up and ruined guaranteed very quickly.
But at least Spigen slim fit pen edition The pro edition actually has a protection for the hinge.. That's probably one of the most delicate things on the phone It's what opens and folds the phone.
Doesn't make any sense. Not to mention you have to switch out the S Pen and the kickstand if you buy the Samsung version.. How ridiculous 🤣
Then of course you're going to buy a screen protector for the front.
The amount that these cases cost for this phone is ridiculous.
I've never seen a phone brand new from Spigen for any case that cost over $30 brand new.
They both cost over 80 or $90 It's just ridiculous no excuse for that.

MY Galaxy Z Fold4 5G 1tb came today from Bestbuy, BUT THEY WON'T GIVE TO ME UNTIL TOMORROW..VERY disappointing..they told me the system won't let them scan it to release it to me until tomorrow the 26th..
And yes I pre ordered it on the 10th of August and I was the first when to do so at that Bestbuy location here in Austin tx..

I understand why people love the z-fold 4 because it takes a regular size phone and makes it much bigger..
What does the flip do other than flip in half and make more of a bulkier phone just cut in half.
It's not easier to carry in any way shape or form. It's actually easy to carry the slab or easy to put the flip in your pocket when it's open. When it's open it's thinner and it fits better.
I know you can do the stand thing where you can take pictures cuz it flips in half. Maybe watch a movie cuz it's got its own stand but that's a way too small of a screen that way.

In just about everyone's review of the Galaxy fold 4 versus the 13 and 14 pro iPhones basically in most situations the camera on the fold 4 beat out the iPhone!! Just about every category..

Great video! I'm considering a Fold 4 when I upgrade my Note 20 Ultra later this year, but I may wait until March for the S23 lineup because I like a phone I can toss around and I'm not convinced of the Fold's durability.
Try it now if you don't like it trade it back next year for the 23... they have great trade in now for ur note 20

Well, just saying it's as strong as day one, no change at all which is expected but just something to mention. Pretty useless to be so mad at a simple statement.
I think what Joshua is implying is this: "Just in case someone was worried about the quality of the hinge, there is no reason for that".
And I can confirm that the hinge of Fold 3 as sturdy as day one after one year of heavy usage.
I will wait for a midrange folding phone and then maybe that's if Samsung have the guts
It's not about having the guts the cost of material will have to go down especially the chipset, then you have to have good profit margin
Ive got Fold 3 now and will have 4 when it comes out. Just love it.
The inside screen will crack , it is not better in that regard. The screen protector I should say but if you don't get it fixed the screen will be next. I was told Samsung will fix it for free only once. My screen protector is cracked after only a year. Really????? That's all I get a 2k phone and that's how you treat me. Beware!!!!
I have a very bad experience with Sumsung Fold 4 and very bad experience with Sumsung's customer services , it LCD not functioning just after few months ( not able to connect to wifi , not able to connect hot spot, the front external screen not responding, not able to detect the Sims card, battery dry very fast , not able to turn on the phone and phone auto off after a while of usage. New problem still occur even after all the effort sending the Fold 4 to Sumsung service centre and the battery still dry very fast and the internal big screen didn't work occasionally OMG all these issues happened within less than 8 months of usage .
I don't know what I'm missing, but the flip, is no different than your Run of the mill bar phone except it closes in half. The fold on the other hand, Is significantly different. 🤷♂️

I took it and I regretted it, as a phone and cool but the software sucks, that is, it has 3 services samsung, google and android, which you get confused especially with google pay and samsung pay payment, horrible !!!

I hate my fold3 it ruined regular mobile phones for me My device must fold from now on. I like Samsung and I like Apple but I will not have an Apple phone again until they make a foldable.

as far as the fold 4 rocking while lying it flat...uh, most people will be rocking a case so that kinda fixes that..that's very nitpicky imo
Every year people review phones for their camera not the actual phone...you're buying a phone not a DLSR camera. Its like if the phone is great and feature rich, it will get shit on cause of not so great camera performance

I want to get one but I'm with att. I have the fold 2 in great condition and want to trade with in but I heard so many horror stories on how people never got their credit because the people who receive trade ins like about the condition of the phone once they receive it and then people having to contact the BBB to get their credit. I don't have time for all of that. Not sure how to go about getting one😂don't want to go through Samsung and that stupid TD Bank neither.

I'm loving my Fold3, my only issue is a huge bubble down the crease. Easy fix though, just need to pop into the Samsung store and have them replace it. I've had a few crunches when unfolding but it doesn't happen very often and hasn't caused any issues with the hinge. The 4 looks nice, some nice little tweaks that were needed, looking forward to the future of foldables

If you have ocd issues you won't like the phone. You will notice and feel the crease messing on the main screen is not the good.
