- On Wednesday's edition of Felger and Mazz, Alex Barth who covers the Patriots for 985TheSportsHub.com, joined the show and discussed how Drake Maye has shown improvement throughout the offseason.

I turned in just to hear Alex. Felger and Mazz basically are roadblocks to information. I can’t remember the last time i just tuned in to hear them.
Nailed it!!! Felger goes out his way to be annoying.
These guys are way too negative, they hear about Drake Maye making strides with his footwork, then they show how much they know about left foot first, so they turn to negativity, I appreciate the offense isn't great, but we've got our guy...Drake is improving his footwork which is great news
if the offensive line is garbage it doesn't matter who's back there or what he looks like
I agree they’re negative, but also can’t say they’re not wrong that things may be different once he’s facing a defense that’s out there to knock him out of the game. It will take more than one offseason, imo, for Maye to fall back on these fundamentals will take years of practice. This is the first step, and it’s great that he’s doing well and looking better, but I believe it will still take time and a better line to have him feeling confident to reflexively do these things they’re teaching him now.
@@patriotsfan122480 yeah and he’s only 21. I’m expecting the patriots to be back in the playoffs in the third season. I think Drake will end up being the best QB in the draft by far but I’m OK with the first two years of him getting ready to where everyone says that about him. I hope the patriots build around him smartly. I don’t even want him starting this season he’s only 21.
They are so dumb sometimes because they don’t realize it’s training camp and they are not wearing equipment. The o line is the most affected by that because they don’t care they’re just big guys taking it easy. They’re talking like it will be identical when they are wearing pads lol. It’s dumb.

Totally agree. It gets extremely old listening to their negativity. They both wanted a new Coach and Quarterback. Now that we have them, they’ve done nothing but complain about everything.

Three years from now we will look back on the Draft and realize Drake was the best QB by far. I really believe he is going to be very similar to Josh Allen maybe even better. The stuff he was doing at 20 years old in college was insane.

Lights will probably be too bright for him. And Brady's shoes are far too big for him to fill that he'll probably lose confidence.
👏👏👏👏👏💪🫡 guys like you make me have faith in this fanbase. Drake will be the best qb by far. He's the qb that will field a top 10 defense for the majority of his career. With saying that, he will learn to attack a top defense every practices he attends. He's going to be ready, going against guys like gonzo will help him develop fast. Watch man, Drake will be a freaking stud for years.

I do wish they’d trade some players or future picks for some tested veteran linemen. At least get one or two really reliable ones. I don’t wanna see what happened with Bryce Young happen to Maye.
The 98.5 Felger Mazz is the same everyday - they won’t say much positive about the Celtics winning and going up 3-0. They are not worth listening to unless you are really bored

Don’t blame the boomers for this crap. I’m a fan not a bitter pud. If I want information about the team or to celebrate a win or news or a draft pick… the absolutely LAST place I’m going to find community is 98.5. And that’s sad because it used to be that after a Pats win (or Sox, Celtics or Bruins) you would turn on the radio to celebrate with other fans. Now? You get insulted for being a homer if you enjoy something like the Brady celebration last night. They find a way to ruin the most satisfying win. I don’t know…. I find all the Pats and Celtics content I need on youtube, twitter and articles. All the beat reporters now have podcasts or other outlets, you don’t HAVE to listen to these guys whine. Hopefully the radio station will wise up and replace them with people like Evan and Alex or Phil Perry. WEEI seems to be slowly figuring that out. Mego’s great.
