I did too I’m doing the story now but it seems pointless as it’s very much a boring tutorial. I wish it had more courses from the mushroom kingdom and character themed courses maybe they will do this via dlc
In case if you were ever wondering, I find Mario Golf: Super Rush to be a positive fun experience. The timestamps obviously reflect RGT 85's opinions (just thought I needed to mention that).
You just have to play each hole of a course once to unlock the next course. If you play 18 hole style you’ll unlock them each after one play of the previous
@@kyler247 dude, he just unlocked all of them by playing the adventure mode first. How was he supposed to know that you can unlock all courses by playing all the 18 holes since he had it already unlocked? I mean, it has some good moments but it’s another terrible sports release from Nintendo. The lacking amount of content is just absurd. The only thing you'd need to play adventure mode is to level up your Mii which I agree is a huge oversight. Second, the adventure mode is way more than a tutorial. It starts that way but little by little they start teaching you very advanced techniques with some difficult challenges. They also have multiple bosses later on and they're quite interesting. Almost no one seems to mention this in their reviews. Also not sure where you see Toadette playing against you, I finished the whole mode and she's only in the overworld. Pretty sure you confused her with Toad and/or Pink Yoshi. And third, while there are 6 courses all of them are huge open world-ish with very diverse paths unlike previous Mario Golf games which were linear and closed. Toadstool Tour had 7, so if you count the Battle Mode course you have the same amount of courses as that one. I can see the lack of charm for you tho but each of these provide a very different experience imo.
I just want to clear this up: you do not have to play story mode to unlock the courses. You can unlock courses by doing single/local player mode. I'm probably an oddball about this but... Where's the Tournament Mode? Ring Mode? Mini Golf? Where are the super charming victory animations or bogey animations? Yes, functionally, as long as the GAMEPLAY itself is fun, the rest shouldn't matter all that much. But that's the thing, ladies 🚺 and gentlemen 🚹: I don't like playing real life Golf but I loved playing Mario Golf. Why was that? Well, it had Mario and crew it in, it had late game courses like Peach's Castle Grounds where it went all in on the Mario fanservice. The different animations for when each character got a Hole in One or like a Double Bogey could get so over the top (like Waluigi's). Am I spoiled by the older games? Am I too old for this series anymore? Lol.
Yeah give those dev teams a chance, Camelot has proven they are not what they once were. Namco made the baseball games though, and they seem pretty busy these days.
Same, I’m not done with the story either, not because I don’t want to rush it, maybe because it’s too boring and lacklustre to play and enjoy when I could just play with other people online and have fun. Btw I only first started playing sonic adventure battle 1 a few weeks ago, never played the first one, only the 2nd one, and I’m enjoying that a heck of a lot more than the story mode in this game 🤣 I would be stuck on that game for hours. I still love playing Mario golf super rush, great game, but it’s story mode and battle mode are what brings the game down in the ratings
I am underwhelmed and disappointed! I totally agree with you. I was really looking forward to Mario Golf. I absolutely loved Mario Kart 8 and thought Mario Golf would have pretty amazing courses but it didn’t. It was a little bit of fun but I didn’t feel the need to play on and put it away to play games that are truly fun and exciting. Hmm. I wish I had waited for reviews and I probably would have passed on this game.
How is this game compared to the Wii golf games? Cause thats what i want to have, a solid golf experience with a bunch of different courses. I'm not into arcade golf style, i just wanna hit some balls and try to best my record. Would you recommend it for me?
Yeah, I had a feeling. I don't care if they think they're not going to put it on sale anytime soon. if they want me to buy it, it'll be on sale somewhere. And likely I don't care enough like I would another Mario Soccer. I don't pay full price for a game that doesn't earn it.
The only sports related Mario game I ever cared about was Mario Sports Mix. I mostly enjoyed the Basketball and Dodgeball segment of that game, and if Nintendo were to release it in HD I'd buy it for full price in a heartbeat!
I recently bought Mario Golf Super Rush along with Mario Tennis Aces. I ended up picking them up for 50% Off! Since the two games came out I've always thought they look like fun games but aren't worth the $60. Well, I was able to wait a bit and pick them up for $30 each and I absolutely love both games!! Been playing Mario Golf Super Rush a lot since I got it the other day and it's a lot of fun! (Even after playing it quite a bit I still don't think it's worth the $60 and would recommend waiting for a Sale!)
I’ve been looking forward to a new Mario golf for years.always loved previous instalments but this one simply bores me.I like completing the various tournaments with all the characters even if it took me years.needless to say there are no tournaments.no unlocking characters only courses.the only way to play offline is a story mode which just feels aimed solely at children with over long dialogue which is sole destroying.
I’ve just been playing adventure mode. I wish the campaign was more like a mix of Golf Story and Everybody’s Golf. Instead I avoid all conversation, immediately buy everything in the shops and try and complete the adventure mode as fast as possible.
Not a mediocre game. It is golf, not super smash. My brother bought it to me for my birthday and haven’t stopped playing it. I’m having so much fun with the motion controls, even when playing online. Can’t wait for the added content.
I thought it would be crap after reading mixed reviews.I’m bored with serious golf games and waiting for a new tiger woods, tried this and really find it great fun.
I feel like I'm in the minority where the GBC version was my most played version (I didn't have 64/ got GC late). It was so freaking fun on the hand held. Way ahead of its time.
I’ve been in a golf mood lately. Did my research on this one and decided to pick it up anyway. I know it’ll get updates in future. Yes it sucks it didn’t come out better.
As i keep saying to each his own. I loved this game and am thoroughly enjoying it since day one. The game modes, certain graphical and haptic feedback touches and overall performance appeal to me.I think this game will appeal to some and not to others, and while some will legitimate find that it's missing something, others will love it and will be looking forward to the new content to come. I am in the later camp and strongly recommend people play the game for themselves to decide what they think.
@@russellmania5349 Me too. Coming from the GBC Mario Golf version, (which I still play) this is very much a continuation of themes and decisions made in that game with great evolution of the formula. @@andrews4731 I would say the Mario Party for the Nintendo Switch was an incomplete game and it only had 4 game boards. I was very disappointed with the new Mario party game.
Correction: 2:00 You CAN unlock the courses without playing adventure mode. Correction: 5:45 The courses DO have character and personality, there are traditional style, desert, links, the bowser course is very awesome and has that "this is mario" vibe. Also you said it yourself "Rainy, standard, desert" and to say they are purely aesthetic only shows you didnt really play them. I agree there should be more, but the current model of selling games is to release DLC, I mean, you know this Ryan. RGT This review is a bit lacking in the research department Also: I personally am enjoying the game, more courses and character customization would be a nice DLC for the future.
I disagree with what you have said just because the adventure mode is fun doesn’t mean the whole game is going to be fun I feel like there should be more courses in the game and it should be finished before release of updates like they should have been like an extra three courses would’ve made this a bit more easy to accept but because there was only six courses like understand why some people are paid off which is why I am not going to buy the game until the updates come out because I feel like this is a very bad business for Nintendo and if the updates aren’t good I went by the game at all
Yeah, but I do think the entire game is fun. 6 courses (108 holes) is plenty for now. Especially as we won't be playing it for 8 hours a day. And have more to come. I'm happy with that going forward.
from the perspective of an irl golfer that works full time and can’t always actually play golf, this game and the motion controls are extremely entertaining i also unlocked courses just by playing regular golf at 18 holes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
No lie detected. While I'm ultimately happy with my purchase, every point made was fair and well thought out. I definitely think the online experience is an important factor. As such I think it leads to the broader question: is it okay to purposely hold back content as a way to keep players coming back to ensure matches are easy to find online? I'd lean toward yes as long as it is free DLC.
It’s fun and a breath of fresh air amongst today’s multiplayer micro transaction games. But yeah even fun creative games like this have been babied a bit too much in the modern day.
I pick up basically every mario and zelda game but for games like this I wait a while for, not necessarily, a decrease in price but also for more content. Also, if its not a main mario or zelda game- whats the rush to play it?
Kinda weird how Nintendo and Camelot are treating their Mario Sport titles as “live-service”/“release incomplete, fix later” games. Really hope it wouldn’t be the case for a potential Mario Strikers sequel since Next-Level Games would be in charge of that.
It’s my favorite game ever, to each their own - still your biggest fan. Especially since my digestive system hasn’t been working and I busted out of my Burberry belt last month.
I'm enjoying the game but it is definitely lacking in content and courses. I sure hope the DLC is worth it. Plus i'm tired of uncomplete games. It sucks you always need additional downloads. Lame
I get it. But for the time being I'm having a lot of fun with speed golf. With like 6 more courses and a few new characters I'd give it 9......... As is I'd say a really high 7. And that's only because I love speed golf soooooo much.
I guarantee you the mode you can only play in story mode will be available outside of story mode in a free update. The version of said mode for play outside story mode is already done, and Nintendo is holding it back for a free update.

Lol.
Happy Birthday to the most awesome dude on youtube !!! Hope you have great day dude !! Stay safe man !!
Now I hope they make Mario baseball and Mario strikers
Just give me strikers please
Yeah give those dev teams a chance, Camelot has proven they are not what they once were. Namco made the baseball games though, and they seem pretty busy these days.
"Like Arlo, love me too" lmao you the man rgt
I bought this game day one and I having a lot of fun playing it
Totally!
I want a super mario galaxy course where you go from planet to planet
I just want a golf game like the one on Wii sports resort. Why can't we get one?!
I'd prefer limited content in a solid game over an unfinished buggy game like Cyberpunk
I'd prefer getting beaten unconscious with a baseball bat over getting a shotgun blasted to my kneecaps
This game is amazing
Sounds like something to wait for the extra content and/or when Nintendo puts it onsale.
I bought this on day 1 & I’m really enjoying it a lot & Im still not done with story. Maybe because I really don’t rush my gameplays
People complaining about $60 when they spend more than that a week in booze, cigs and weed 😆
The hypocrisy
That's probably why they're complaining.
I guess we know you're not a nintendo ambassador
I am underwhelmed and disappointed! I totally agree with you. I was really looking forward to Mario Golf. I absolutely loved Mario Kart 8 and thought Mario Golf would have pretty amazing courses but it didn’t. It was a little bit of fun but I didn’t feel the need to play on and put it away to play games that are truly fun and exciting. Hmm. I wish I had waited for reviews and I probably would have passed on this game.
It's probably $10 too expensive (at least). But we're enjoying the game. It's just something to play a course and put it away until later.
You can unlock the courses by playing each course on regular golf and doing all 18 holes
From my experience, the game is very great and addictive! Neat that Mario Golf has returned after all.
Heck, this game has way more content than what Ultra Smash had.
Yeah, I enjoyed Mario Sports Mix despite people saying the game was too simplistic. And Peach could really rock those pink shorts, too.😊😇
Needs some disc golf DLC!
Regardless of the minimal content for Super Rush as of now, I still enjoyed the game ever since I preordered the game, it's mostly a decent game.
I don’t understand. As a Knicks fan RGT should be used to being let down and absolutely LOVE mediocrity...
It's all about balls going in holes RGT 85. Embrace it. Just like Rich does.
First-party Nintendo games being light on content seems to be a trend nowadays. Sigh.
Wanted it until people kept saying it's light on content.
You don't have to play Adventure Mode to unlock the courses. You can unlock the courses by playing 18 holes in regular golf mode
I found it above average. Not spectacular, but really solid. I wouldn't say "mediocre", but...your opinion
the reason i am subbed is to hear your opinion on things so late or on time im here
I was already burned on Mario Tennis Aces so I figured I'd wait to buy this.
This is the first Mario golf game I've tried. I've really been enjoying what's here, but you're right when you described it as bare bones.
I really liked the game, the only problem is it needs more courses which we are getting.
I definitely am quite happy for a late game review if it means the review is better because you've had more time to actually play it. Great job.
I’ve been playing non stop. The game modes are great especially speed golf. The only thing this game is lacking is more maps. Which are coming
You can unlock the courses just playing play golf mode too. Playing 18 holes on a course unlocks the next course.
It should be called Mario Gulf Super Rushed. On a side note your the man. I watch you every day. Big fan.
Not a mediocre game. It is golf, not super smash. My brother bought it to me for my birthday and haven’t stopped playing it. I’m having so much fun with the motion controls, even when playing online. Can’t wait for the added content.
Golf Story set a new standard for story/writing/humour etc
I thought it would be crap after reading mixed reviews.I’m bored with serious golf games and waiting for a new tiger woods, tried this and really find it great fun.
I feel like I'm in the minority where the GBC version was my most played version (I didn't have 64/ got GC late). It was so freaking fun on the hand held. Way ahead of its time.
I love Arlo.... and I love you too RGT, I love you too
Anybody else having fun on XC golf on Ridgerock lake? Id rather sew my head to the carpet then play that again
I thought your comment was funny. Anybody who didn't can lick my sweaty taint.
Pretty sure RGT85 has helped keep thousands of us sane over the last year and a half! Thanks Sean!
I hope the next Mario sports game is another baseball game. I absolutely loved Mario Super Sluggers as a kid
I also like this game and I loved story mode.
@@russellmania5349 Me too. Coming from the GBC Mario Golf version, (which I still play) this is very much a continuation of themes and decisions made in that game with great evolution of the formula. Some people really gave me crap for liking this game which makes absolutely no sense, but hey, let's enjoy the ride!
@@andrews4731
I would say the Mario Party for the Nintendo Switch was an incomplete game and it only had 4 game boards.
RGT This review is a bit lacking in the research department
Also: I personally am enjoying the game, more courses and character customization would be a nice DLC for the future.
Have to disagree. Having great fun with this both wirh family and solo. And the Golf Adventure mode is a good tutorial.
I disagree with what you have said just because the adventure mode is fun doesn’t mean the whole game is going to be fun I feel like there should be more courses in the game and it should be finished before release of updates like they should have been like an extra three courses would’ve made this a bit more easy to accept but because there was only six courses like understand why some people are paid off which is why I am not going to buy the game until the updates come out because I feel like this is a very bad business for Nintendo and if the updates aren’t good I went by the game at all
Nope
Yeah, but I do think the entire game is fun. 6 courses (108 holes) is plenty for now. Especially as we won't be playing it for 8 hours a day. And have more to come. I'm happy with that going forward.
@@SoLove I would say at least two more courses would make it acceptable for me
from the perspective of an irl golfer that works full time and can’t always actually play golf, this game and the motion controls are extremely entertaining
i also unlocked courses just by playing regular golf at 18 holes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Don’t worry RGT 85! We love you too!!😊💜
No lie detected.
While I'm ultimately happy with my purchase, every point made was fair and well thought out.
I definitely think the online experience is an important factor. As such I think it leads to the broader question: is it okay to purposely hold back content as a way to keep players coming back to ensure matches are easy to find online?
I'd lean toward yes as long as it is free DLC.
you just convinced me to wait for this to go on sale.
Looking forward for you to review this. I was on the fence about buying it
@MMAorNada who cares he’s giving his honest review. He isn’t biased he gives his honest opinion.
@@TheParentalRevolution but the mma dude doesn't see the irony in the fact he comments basically same thing every video🤣
@MMAorNada yes there is
I guarantee you the mode you can only play in story mode will be available outside of story mode in a free update. The version of said mode for play outside story mode is already done, and Nintendo is holding it back for a free update.
Maybe it’s my adhd but I find mindless games like this very addictive
Some of ya’ll disappoint yourselves with your high expectations. I’m loving it for what it is
Game is pointless
@@blue_ex3852 If you say so buddy
@@blue_ex3852 And 60 dollars at that.
@@J4k3_Ry4n Isn't everything from Nintendo 60 dollars?
@@danielj8085
If they **** in a bag and offered it on sale does that mean they should charge 60 dollars for it? Is that number supposed to be some kind of standard? For? Reasons?
