      No, that's what happens when your life is in serious danger. Everything slows down. Your limbs aren't exactly heavy, yet it's frustrating that you cannot make them move faster. Physics is strangely dilated. The end result is you have extra time to think & plan how to survive.

    Kurt Russell practiced playing basketball between scenes as he wanted to make all of his shots legitimately in the basketball scene later on. He made all of those shots purely on his own talent, even the full-court one.

    I was an background extra this night. That last shot was one take. Dramatically, we were sent home afterwards. I figure Snake Plissken saved them tens of thousands of dollars, and walked off the court like it was a normal day.

    Few people know this, but they actually threatened to kill Kurt Russel for real if he missed any shots. They wanted to get "a genuine reaction" from him. The director said he was prepared to make it look like an accident. Of course, this was just a ruse and in they end they all laughed about it.

      It's not like he has NO depth perception. The eye comes up with tricks to compensate for the loss of binocular depth perception - for example, if you have an idea of an object's relative size you can judge its distance using your experience of how far objects of that size has been from you in the past.

    one the more iconic scenes in movie history. so brilliant conceived and Russell shows just the right amount of tension and swagger to make it absolutely believable. I am amazed why this movie did not do well. Its a classic.

    The best thing about this scene is that there are no cut scenes, snake hit all those shots. He wanted to make it more authentic and even the full court shot was said to have taken him only one or two tries.
