  • In this quick week 6 update of the journey to monetize my small art UA-cam channel, I practice a couple filming and editing techniques to start improving the viewing experience. Hopefully this kind of tweaking will help as I get better at it! :)
    Thank you for watching!

Awesome evolution Anne! And I am excited to find out what you are preparing for that festival 💥💥 I hope you get a lot of visitors AND buyers. Don't forget to have your YT channel written on your visit cards to give to the people visiting your booth 🌻🌻

Very interesting to hear about your learning curve with making videos. And speaking of exploring new video techniques, I love the intro and outro music and titles in this video. 😃

Thank you, Andrew! I am especially enjoying using an outro...it's a nice little way to say goodbye!

This week I learned how to drop in a photo over the video and I started using a Bluetooth mic. Small baby steps of learning over here! I wanted to share that I’m using Adobe Rush to edit. It’s like the baby version of Adobe Premiere. I eventually want to learn premiere so I thought that would be a good start. I think I remember you saying somewhere you also have the Adobe suite so I thought I’d mention it as an option. Good luck at your festival!!

Oh, that's a great idea, Jackie! I'll give that a whirl next. Your bluetooth mic situation was strong on that outdoor video! I noticed! Way to go!!

Isn’t it great when you get excited about a new skill? This week has been a down week for me. I’m still recovering from the fast-paced momentum I was experiencing when I was teaching AND creating content. So I guess I’ve allowed June to be my “recovery month”. I haven’t created as much in terms of video. I needed some time to get centered and in vacation mode. I’ve been learning about script writing for educational videos as well as ways to monetize beyond Adsense. My creative brain REALLY needed some rest. lol.
    An idea for you…
Consider doing a LIVE video where you are teaching some art concepts. The LIVE hours don’t count toward Watch time… but the replay hours do! That’s a great benefit because if your live is an hour long tutorial and people watch even 10 minutes of the replay, you’re getting 10 min watch time PER viewer as opposed to maybe 1.5-3 min per viewer.
    ❤❤❤❤❤❤

OMG, Jen! That's a fantastic idea!! I was bummed not to be watching your live video live because I was looking forward to it, but I'll hop over to watch the replay!

@@annelivingstonart it’s understandable if you don’t SIT and watch it passively. But you can keep it on in the background while you’re doing something else…like PAINTING!🖼️✨🙏

I tried a new thumbnail look. I personally don’t like it however I hear the style I picked helps draw viewers in😳 we shall see.
I love that you are getting your art out there, that’s brave. Well for me it would be brave. My confidence with my art is quite low. I’m excited to watch your art videos.

I know what you mean about the thumbnail conundrum. I like fonts that are probably a little more difficult to read when small, so instead I'm using these big bold clunkers. :) hahaha But at least people can read the words, I guess! Looking forward to hearing if it makes a difference for you!

I don’t really “watch” hardly any videos. I just listen to them while driving or editing photos.

Actually, same here! Lots of the time they are keeping me company while I work.
