- I'm so excited to be using a heat press for the very first time while recording this video! I am using DTF (Direct to film) transfer for a new design I created for an event this weekend. This week I'll be pressing this design onto many, many tote bags!
While the heat press heats up I talk about the significance and the background of the design itself, which is derived from a historical book called Werner's Nomenclature of Color.

No way! The cottage I was staying in this last week had a painting on the wall titled '50 Shades of Wales'. I took a photo as I really loved the idea & wanted to do something similar. I'd never seen anything like it before! Now you share your lovely Ballard tote bag design & one from my home town of Liverpool! Thank you for adding to my excitement about doing a project in this vibe! I think they are so beautifully charming.
I love the "Colors of Ballard" concept! Especially on a tote bag!!! Great idea, Anne! And fun and fascinating to see how you are implementing it, by heat pressing the design, yourself.
@@lifeslices2228 it's really because of you that all of this is happening...😉 Talking me back into the dream of tote bags!
I loved watching this!
THANK YOU for watching it! I hope parts of it made you laugh. hahaha
Always fun to try out new toys 😀
That's the truth! I won't lie, I was nervous to get started, but I predict it will be fun to use once I really get the hang of it! Thank you so much for watching, Eva!
@@annelivingstonart You did amazing already on this first try.
Loved this video Anne! So interesting to hear some of your process with making the design!
@@rachelwalter6840 Rachel!! Thank you so much for watching!💕
It's great having a new toy to play with isn't it? !!! 😄 That looked like a fun thing to do once you got the hang of it. I hope that you manged to get many bags printed! ☺
Thank you, Simone! The DTF transfers come in on Tuesday, so here's hoping I can print like the wind! :)

Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. I love this so much. I’ve been collecting the colors of my land and community this year as a project. Wow! I hope you sell all of them, but if you don’t I want one. You are just a girl with her heat press learning something new. I love it!
I would, maybe, make a large poster explaining the meaning behind your tote. Otherwise you are going to have to say it 70,000 times.
Jackie!!! Of COURSE you have been collecting the colors of your land and community!!! That's so aligned with your purpose! wowowowow.
I hope you make a thing with these colors as well. We can trade! Bare minimum I cannot wait to see the colors if you decide to share them out here in UA-camland.
Fab idea about the poster. This is a MUST.
With gratitude,
A girl and her heat press :)
@@annelivingstonart let us know how the festival goes. Hopefully you have fun no matter what!
Good luck with your event, wishing you big sales (or at least enough to cover expenses)! Love the tote bags ~ Nan
@@4seasonshelf thank you, Nan! Fingers crossed!💕
WOW!! What an incredibly impressive work of art! I’m just in awe of the time and care it takes to go to places in your neighborhood and color-match special things. I’d love to hear about more of the colors and what inspired them. Plus, I’d love to hear more about the process of your expeditions to go do color-matching, like…did you bring one watercolor set with you? Or, how many tubes of paint did you tote around with you, and how long did the project take? I’m SUPER fascinated!
@@knorman717 I love these questions so much! Thank you for your interest! I will attempt to answer them in a video! I already have some footage to get that going.💕
