Many airgunners may not know that Nova Vista makes this gun and has its origins from the NV Liberty which was sold…at least mine…from ATI in Florida. I paid 285$ for a .22 Liberty with a wood stock and is still to this day one of my most accurate PCPs I own and is second only to my .25 caliber LCS. On many occasions my Liberty at 75 yards holds nickel size groups with 18.13 grain pellets. Not to shabby for a sub 300$ PCP.
Thanks for the post! This is the basis for the Avenger line, and I agree, this is a solid shooting platform, exceptional, considering the price point. The Avenger-X has a higher energy output, higher shot count, and the modularity mentioned which increases the price point a bit, but still a great value in my opinion.
It’s crazy how rabbits can stay still for a long time. I have seen rabbits not move at all ,not even the ears for over ten minutes at least. They almost look like props.
I know, I have just about tripped over them when the only cover was a clump of dried grass...... at other times they are gone before you can get within 100 yards. They seem secure in camo and the ability to outrun danger for the most part.
Greetings, Mr Chapman. Happy holidays! Nice video, I think starting the new year, you should show a video on your Jack Rabbit recipes. Keep up the great work 👍
I just came across the aveng x and was wondering what the difference was. Very nice explanation and your timing is perfect! Have you seen what these can do with a 15 or 20cc plenum installed? Pretty remarkable the way the power/shot count is improved. I hear in Texas the momma rabbits tell their kids ''be good or Jim will get you'' Keep rackin' em' up buddy awesome video
Glad it was helpful, and thanks for the comment. Haven't done any experimenting with the plenum, other than to tinker with the hammer spring and regulator to optimize performance. I know that there are 3rd party plenums available but haven't had the chance to try one out. At some point I hope to. I've heard the plenum from Doux Technologies is generating a significant power increase.
@@americanairgunhunter A 15cc plenum got 14 shots at 78 fpe out of a .22! I saw this on the air velocity sport youtube channel. I have a 20cc plenum from DC tunes the guy who made the one in the AVS video. I think 80fpe is not unreasonable
Good morning Jim 🌄. How well would this PCP perform when it is taken from indoor temperatures of 70°F, to outside temperatures of about 10°F for hunting and or target practice🎯?
I haven't had any problem is very cold weather with the Avenger, though haven't had the Avenge-X in anything colder than 30°F so far this year (two days ago). I will use it in the harsh MN and WI area I small game hunt, and don't anticipate any issues but will keep you posted.
How do you think it would do on a coyote ? In that exact configuration? I’m looking for a well priced pcp for our coyote problem and this is the pcp I’ve kinda landed on ..
I need something to drop coyotes & foxes, im over run, my german sheppards are out numbered, id like a 25 cal but i dont know which brand, im retired 64 years old
The Avenge-X was only released recently, are you talking about Avenger? There is a baseline increase in power in the Avenge-X platform. I am going to do a video comparing the Avenger and Avenge-x platforms soon.
It's too bad if they would have made it in 30. caliber I would have been very interested especially since it's a modular design. Who knows maybe somebody might come out with a kit.
Maybe they'll make a .30 at some point, or maybe a third party will pop up with barrel/magazine kits. The tunability of the gun is such, it will probably accommodate a larger caliber with no modification. The .25 is really nice on this rifle in the meantime!
You can put up to a 20cc(more tan double the stock plenum) custom plenum on it and get 70-80 fpe with a .25. Load it with heavier slugs ang you're pretty close.
Not every gun is for every person. The cool thing about this one is that it is truly modular, so you can build it up anyway you want. My goal for this Avenge-x was to specifically build out a long-distance varmint gun for prairie dog. I will say that it is well balanced, and I like shooting it. When I sat truly modular, I mean a wide selection of components are available at a reasonable cost. You can build the gun that suits you.
One of these is ending up at my ranch house here in Mexico very soon. Its just the choosing, now.
Yeah, I'll be getting the others at some point, I think this will be a very fun platform for personalizing..
@@americanairgunhunterLooks like a lot of room for modularization.
Best valued Airgun on the market.Accuracy, price point spot on.
Great hunt Jim. Looks like it performed well and thanks for taking us along! 😊
Thanks for watching
Great explanation. Good videos. Greetings from Tecate, Baja California Norte, Mexico 🇲🇽🇺🇲
Thanks and welcome, When I was younger, I spent a lot of time exploring Baja. Love it down there!
new subscriber here, just ordered this gun - my first pcp. looking forward to using it.
Welcome to the site, and congrats on the rifle! I think you'll be happy with it. Let's hear how it works for you.

@@americanairgunhunter I totally agree. It can and does compete with 1-1.5K air rifles at least with my guns anyway. Great value.
Enjoying you again!

Good job

Please are that model semi auto?
Maybe I missed it, but did you paint your avenge-x, or ordered it that color?
It was a custom Cerakote finish from Pyramyd Air
Like to own one but I have 5 already.
I need something to drop coyotes & foxes, im over run, my german sheppards are out numbered, id like a 25 cal but i dont know which brand, im retired 64 years old
I've done my research and the Avenge X is best value pcp you can buy. Mine is on the way! Good Luck and get them wiley coyotes!
Rabbit drop like noting wohoho.
I've had bottle on mine for two years its ok but can't touch my Gauntlet far power !!

60 ft/lbs? wow i knew it came at 44 actually...
I believe you’re thinking of the Avenger .25, this gun is the Avenge-X.25. Larger Plenum more adjustability, and higher power output.
That bottle is something ugly, yikes .
Looks bad azz to me,
Thanks for the review but I have to say, that is the ugliest air rifle I have ever seen! Looks to be overly top-heavy as well. Not for me.
