Hi Christy. This just came up on my feed. Nice one pal, it is to this day still my favourite song and I love singing it and hearing it been sung. Lovely all round job on it by the way. And I used to have a Fylde and I regret ever selling it on but I know it went to a great guy called Eric in Germany who is also a great player. Slainte pal. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Wow, thanks for the nod. You do such a brilliant job of this song. My daughter Lauren have listened to your version countless times..she loves how she can visualize the story in her head (she’s 6). Cheers, Chris
I scroll down to read comments while thinking: gosh this chris fella is probably the best I've heard this song since daoiri...and who is commenting but himself. Nice job chris!
Nice version 😀😀 This song was the reason why I started playing Irish Bouzouki. I saw Daori Farrell`s version here on YT and was hooked. My version is closer to yours than Daori`s - my fingers aint fast enough for the riffs and runs that he does. 🙂
Hey Chris, Lovely version. I bought a bouzouki a while back but haven’t gotten round to learning anything yet. This has inspired me. So thank you. Jimmy
Awesome cover! How did you learn the song? I'm relatively new to bouzouki so I'm looking for a tutorial to push a bit more complex playing. I'm currently just a chord strummer, not many melody runs.
Any chance of getting the chords you play? The tab of even one verse would help with he chords shown as 'xxxx' (e.g. 0020 = G). Brilliant version - trying to learn it on bouzouki. Thanks.
Thanks for the interest..here’s more or less how I play it: The first half of the verse is just a bass line walk down from the D to the G chord in the first line, and to the A in the second line (0007, 0006, 0004, 0002, 0020..0007, 0006, 0004, 0022). Second half starts on a Bm7 to a D (0044 to 0002), then G D Bm G for the last line. Hope that helps.
Hey Chris, lovely job mate Would you mind posting the intro Chord progression please Im usually D D/C# BM G - D D/C# Bm A What do you do after this please? Cheers Spence UK/IRL
Not so good, kindve mediocre....left out all the nice runs diaori put in...sloppy playing....singing sucks.....other than that good try on a great song!
If you were even half of a musician you would understand the effort that went into just learning the song. Let alone doing such an amazing and emotional job with this. Of all the shit comments I’ve seen on UA-cam over the years this one takes the cake. And if you are just a troll well done hahaha!

@@joefrancis759 I had the same thought! Definitely the best performance of the song I've heard in addition to Daoiri Farrel's...

What tuning are you in? Standard? Would much appreciate an answer to this!
It’s a fairly traditional tuning for Irish Bouzouki: GDAD. Cheers, Chris
Thks Chris
