Thanks to this guide and the links to the material in the description I literally went from 270 to 306 in one day. No stacks of veterans edge to 30. Thank you.
Thanks! Good to know. I’m so glad this isn’t necessary for basic PVE. The MMO I used to play, it was absolutely necessary to modify gear for PVE and it wasn’t easy to do. Stole the fun out of the game
Yes there's a ton of stuff in the game you can technically do "naked"! My main character is very geared up but it means I can run around and do stuff on my other characters who are ungeared too :)
Sweet! I needed a great gear/augment guide. Keep up the great work! Also thanks for the link you gave me the last time I wrote a comment on one of your vids.
This has been my main question for months! I cant remember how many people i asked on fleet, in guilds, friends, and no one could explain it to me in a way that makes sense. That was until i watched this video, thanks SWTORISTA! Im gonna get some augments now :)
You are an absolute lifesaver. I was tearing my beard out trying to get the numbers right on my builds, only to realize I had completely missed augmenting them.
I've kind of given up on Augments. They've become so expensive and the materials to make the good ones are so hard to obtain that I just can't keep up anymore.
just buy the blue 73 ones, getting a full set of blues is pretty much what it costs to get a single purple 74 and the stat difference in total is like 100 less of any tertiary stat so its really not a bad option.
Purples arent that hard to get but you need several alts - slicing and scavenging is key. You can grind embers by running Off the Radar all the time with a level 50 comp. You'll get tons of grade 11 crafting missions, which you should run with level 50 comps. When they crit they give between 1 and at least 6 embers. I got about 50-60 a week doing this and breaking gear from running tc each day with a few characters. It'll take a few weeks to get the stuff together but running four to five guilded alts doing a bit of grinding here and there will soon get you what you need. Dont both with golds unless you are a real sweaty pvper :P
Another OUTSTANDING guide. Thank you so much for all the work that you put into making these. You certainly help to make this incredible game more understandable and enjoyable.
I've used a few of these, only really to give my inquisitor defense stats because I thought that it would make them interesting and give them a bit of a boost to taking damage. Unfortunately the price jump between the last two armour ratings are stupid and it costs half a billion credits on the gtn. I will check out the link as that sounds really useful.
Great video! I personally use augments on all of my toons starting around lvl 10 - 20. I don't make new ones every time I can though. I'll use lvl 14 augs till I'm in my 30's. Then I'll make new ones. Then again in my 40s, 50s, etc. Granted I've been playing since launch & I have master craftsman for all crafts. So I craft them for my other toons. Needed? No. Useful & helpful? Yes. Can never have too much power. 😁
Blue augs: for tertiary stats. Accuracy, alacrity, crit. (looking at dps). I feel everyone can get at least a set of blue augs. Purple augs: If you run a lot of HM+ ops, MM fps, ranked PVP, get these. Gold augs: For flexing and high ranking PVPers. I still plan on getting Gold Augs for my main and secondary. Purples on the rest. I'm a stat wh0re. I enjoy pushing my stats to the limits. Those gold augs should 100% be easier tho. If you aren't running ranked pvp or MM ops, you need 210k tech frags or 1bil credits for the mats. (Can be better to just buy the aug from GTN).
The blue ones are great value indeed. Though I would say that if you want to raid on Veteran Mode ops beyond KP and EV, I'd say you do definitely want to have your whole set augmented.
To be fair I run a lot of content without augments, including master mode flashpoints. The only reason for you to get them is to try to do HM/MM operations and ranked pvp. If you enjoy unranked pvp, you don't need them.
if you grind crafting mats for a couple hours and sell them on the gtn, you can make enough money to buy 286 augments from the gtn. all it takes is patience, and 600 skill in 3 gathering professions.
You don't need a video for this, cos basically it's: Sentinel/Marauder and Guardian/Juggernaut: just use it before your strongest ability with weapon damage. Sage/Sorcerer: useless shit Shadow/Assassin: useless shit Gunslinger/Sniper: same as sorc's/sage's Phase walk Scoundrel/Operative: offensive/defensive cooldown Commando/Mercenary: second charge for your disengage ability Vanguard/Powertech: mostly offensive cooldown.
You buy the onslaught unlock from the trainer, which will give you the ability to craft anything up to 700, once you get your crafting skills to that level. Unless you are f2p, then you might not be able to get it.
Hey Swtorista! I have an issue regarding combat and abilities that I was hoping you could answer for me. I am a first-time player who just recently downloaded SWTOR and is really enjoying it so far, but I've been having some trouble with my skills/abilities that has rendered me unable to progress any further: At the very beginning of the Sith Inquisitor storyline, on the way to Spindrall's tomb, there is a side mission that requires you to kill a bunch of Tomb Looters. However, when I go to face them, I find that all but one of my abilities are marked in red and therefore unusable. Given that this leaves me physically unable to fight them, a Level 3 noob like me is swiftly cut down. When I respawn by the safety of the medical droid back in the Valley of the Dark Lords, I find that my abilities are no longer marked in red and I think: _"Oh they're alright now, I'll just go back down and fight them again,"_ but when I do go back into the tomb, my abilities are suddenly all marked in red again, leading to a repeat performance of me being trapped with no way to fight back and being unceremoniously slaughtered by an unlikely alliance of Tomb Looters and k'lor'slugs. Does this issue have anything to do with the global cooldown time? Because no matter how long I wait, my abilities don't seem to want to regenerate. I know that I must be missing something, but I have no idea what exactly. So, about these infernal red-marked abilities, if you would be able to explain what exactly has happened, what caused it to happen, and how I can avoid it/get out of it in the future, I would *_very much_* appreciate it.
I'm very confused and not sure what you are talking about so here is my guesses You must have an enemy targeted to use many abilities. Use tab key to target You must have an enemy targeted and be within range for many attacks you need to be quite close You need to have a weapon equipped and ideally the right weapon I am guessing it is one of those three. If you figure anything out leave me a new comment! (I won't see replies to this one easily)
Have you visited a trainer to train up skills? As you level up you need to "train" them. Back in the day it cost quite a bit to do this but it's free now. Its possible that is the issue.
@@skyematrix3403 306 augs would be sweet but unless you are rocking tens of billions in your account, i wouldnt get your hopes up. Shit is crazy at the moment.
I came back after years and finally getting through the Eternal Empire expansions. Loving the story and chill play style. This game is solid.
Every time I have a swtor question. you always come in clutch ✊🏽❤️ thank you 🙏🏾
Great video! I've never had any idea how these augments worked or how they are made. Thanks again for a great vid!

@@Lucasaurios Interesting. I'll look into that.
Blue ones if you do only capped content, purple if you go into Dxun. Gold ones ONLY if you are hardcore ranked PvPer.

old augments sometimes drop in flashpoints, i got 2 last time i ran assault on tython.
yep! They're not great compared to the new ones though.
sometimes i either forget or don't bother use the augments for the most part. tho probably i won't need augments at the moment

it is not terribly difficult to craft the 286 augments yourself it just takes a little time

Can I upgrade the augment kit? (First using augment kit 5 and later install augment kit 8)

Get blue 73s
Nah you don't need them except for the hardest stuff - but go nuts and get em if you want to be stronger in any content.
full 306, all i need is 306 augments
