I love the outside, but the interior looks cheap. A lot of BMW interiors look identical, even from the X1 to the X7, so they end up not feeling quite as upscale.
I love it, I recently went to a BMW event and their EV’s are nicely equipped and fun and fast and quiet BUT an EV still just doesn’t work for the amount of driving that I do.
Saves them money😂 people need to understand that manufacturers love to bury functions in the infotainment because saves them from procuring separate panels and physical buttons that increase the production costs per vehicle. Of course those savings are not passed onto you the sucker, eh consumer, that gets saddled with a big ass screen glued to the dashboard and millions of screen menus to do simple operations
@@MicahMuzioI’m a new owner of an iX and i have to say some gimmicks aside the new electric BMWs are a serene and peaceful place to be in otherwise stressful drives. Between the driving assistance, speed calibration, sound system and isolation I don’t miss my last gen 5 series like i thought i would
Would love you also review something like the new Honda Civic hybrid to see how well relatively inexpensive cars work for families. Keep up the reviews your family's energy is a great relief from a stressful day!
I really would love a video down the road on the upcoming 550e…at this point I’m leaning more PHEV and the 550e specs seem great although does have a 6k increase in base price over this I5. Always appreciate your thoughts value your families opinions.
Great review! I wish it had the exterior design of the last generation with the interior and technology of this one! That would make me switch to an ev instantaneously, given if i had the money for these!
Thanks. I’d really like to see your opinion on the i4 35 or the 40. Not the 50. Im specially curious what impression the interior space makes for you all. Yes I realize that if they give you a car it will probably be a 50 but it doesn’t hurt to ask
I thought the rear legroom was nothing special for a car that grew in size over the far better looking outgoing G30 5 Series. It just a big bloated car with less than optimal interior space utilization
@@sporla3 was hard to compare in real world but that’s good to hear. I just did a lot of forum scouring. It’s not make or break for me as i still love it without it but good to know about it in future. The only feature i tried that i didn’t get was air suspension. I opted to not listen to the bowers to stay in blissful ignorance lol
you might want to put a note in your future videos saying something to the effect of, if you want to make AI music like i do, here is what i use. i would either put that in the subscription or say something about it in the video as well.
For $96k, I would expect a more complete car. More range and better interior/exterior design. The front interior and the rear interior look designed by two different designers.
You’ve got yourself a new subscriber. I love the fact you include your family in the reviews, makes you stand out from other channels out there.
We appreciate having you as a subscriber. And thanks for leaving such a nice comment. Cheers!!
Minority opinion: I love the looks of this thing, inside and out.
There are…a few of us! ✊🏼
Me too! I love the 5 series current look. I’m not a 4 series exterior fan. I’d buy this over my model 3
I also do, but I would like less glossy surfaces on the inside.
@@godofdun Gloss black interior trim should be illegal.

I think you need to take this thing on the track like you did with your KBB colleagues for the Ionic N! The reactions would be priceless! 🤣🤣
I love all of y'all's reviews. Currently shopping around and this was on top of my list and your kiddo's perspective helped when thinking of mine.
This trend of capacitive buttons and most controls buried in the infotainment menu has got to GO!
The lumbar control is in the seat options screen, they for some reason took the controls off the seat.
Woowwww. Absurd.

0:32 please show more of these smudges and dust on piano-black center console in cars. We gotta shame auto makers for making car interior disgusting.
Excellent review guys!😸
Informative review, and nice family. Thank you, Micah.
That digital art is an unbelievable feature 😂
I imagine the audio engineer, listening to the artist record their description, struggling not to roll their eyes or laugh. 🤭

Legit "lol'd" at the kiddo reveal from the engine panel :)

no
Thanks!
"it is rich family friendly." Beautiful! And the i5 is good looking too.
It’s a beautiful car and so much fun to drive 🙌
NYT Wordle didn't recognize BOIST but MOIST got me to MUSHY in two tries. Thanks!
12:33 that was unexpected and adorable
Why would they not add adjustable lumbar support?
I like the AI-generated synopsis songs you throw in at the end 😄
From some angles, the i5 can look like a Honda or a Toyota 🤢
Front: FWD BMW 2-Series gran coupe. Sides: Circa 2011 Mercedes Benz E Class. Rear: 2013 Toyota Camry. Enjoy

Dad life = SEDAN LIFE!!!
This minus the glossy black plastic interior parts might be decent.

I got an iX n opted not to go for the rear steer… many owners say it makes their passengers nauseous and that parking becomes insanely aggravating
I have an IX with rear steering and nobody has ever complained and I don't have any problem parking.

Definition of Boist: when a balloon pops
The only thing missing is a pachinko console. That is sarcasm.

Bmw just increased the destination charge to 1195
0-60 time isn’t worth mentioning if it’s above 3.2
96k and no place to store sunglasses.. 😂
Only BMW would put the electric charging ports right next to liquids, err cupholders.
For $96k, I would expect a more complete car. More range and better interior/exterior design. The front interior and the rear interior look designed by two different designers.
Range is abysmal for the $
Beautiful car
😂😂
Seems overly complicated for no good reason. That’s why I like Hondas, just easy to figure out and drive.
Did anyone else hear that the BMW is racist?! 😂 @4:53
LoL. I heard "raciest." Lot depends on what you are expecting to hear. :)
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Model S is a better deal.
What a behemoth, BMW has lost their way. Bloated throw away lease special.
wow, $96k is ridiculous. i rather buy a model s or lucid air for sure
BMW’s electric cars are fast but leave a driver so unsatisfied compared to their gas engines.
@@edhcb9359 you’ve obviously never driven one.
@@DJL78 We did when we traded in our last BMW. We wanted to like it, but electrics just aren’t quite ready for prime time.
This review was way too American for my taste.
Too much electric, prefer SUVs over sedans.
I prefer better handling, better looking and more efficient sedans over cookie cutter SUVs😂😊
looks so bad inside and out
Who cares it goes to 60 in 3 seconds. It is one nasty looking car😂 BMW can’t be forgiven for destroying the 5 Series legacy
