danny explained in his podcast episode with jpeg hyping the album that he named the first song after the tiktoker cuz lean beef patty is strong and the song goes hard...the names are just silly... also imo, in the song scaring the hoes its more them mocking the men who say that weird shit "scares the hoes", when its really the dudes who're scared by the music..
I think it's definitely mocking, jpegmafia has always been very upfront and confrontational towards abusers in the industry and artists around him who mistreat wonen. that's why he's the best
@@SPACE-98 im pretty sure hes not, he called himself the leftwing hades in songs, he has the song about the dead cop, hes anti military, in his podcast appearance with talib kweli he discussed his politics, he appeared on hasanabis broadcast.... hes a leftist rapper, those arent hard to find...he has an album called communist slow jams.. i know he plays with satire... but hes also very blunt and to the point at times, and thats whenever his politics show up...a lot of his anti racist, anti misogyny stances... hes very much left of centre
i think its super important to listen to music like this with good speakers, or ideally a nice pair of headphones! headphones might be the most approachable, i recommend sennheiser as a brand and just choose a price point thats affordable for yourself =]

Best album of the year next to slowthai and Lil’ Yachty. Absolutely love this one from front to back. Great reaction. I appreciate the pauses for you to express how you feel with the music. It isn’t just some person head bobbing or a song and then saying a little blurb. Hope you keep at it! I’ll keep watching. You should check out the rest of Peggy’s discog if you haven’t already.
I really like the way you explained the depth of this album, and specifically JPEG's production. You have to listen to it multiple times so that you can predict and understand what you're listening to. Really love the commentary on moving from a more experimental piece into a more "digestable" piece within the same song - he really does that masterfully. Loved the reaction!
love your energy. super chill reaction. will be subbing highly recommend going through both artists back catalog either on your own time or on video. Danny Brown’s “Atrocity Exhibition” is an essential for Experimental Hip Hop. JPEGMAFIA’s last three albums are all excellent and worth listening to also. JPEGMAFIA also produced all of this album along with doing the mixing and mastering
I love this. The way you make commentary on the tracks has me knowing you're a natural JPEGMAFIA fan. We just can't keep our mouths shut about his music. I think he's the best producer of the Generation and with him planning to release 2 more albums this year I've got no doubt that many more people will be saying that by the end of the year
Ooooooh. Sorry but when you bring up the comfort of orange juice Jones and and kingdom key hearts. It makes me think of a very good jpeg peice. "The power of Madonna," by Devon Hendryx Peggy's old alias
11:06 if you didn’t find out yet, Burfict is the last name of a former NFL player. He played middle linebacker on defense and was notorious for playing dirty. The track gave me marching band vibes so I get the football connection.
you're so well spoken, and it's sweet that you allow yourself to articulate your feelings and thoughts so precisely throughout. art is meant to be interpreted, so i love that you don't care if something is reaching or not. subscribed, hoping to maybe see more peggy or danny reactions in the future 🤠
so glad i found ur channel this reaction as great. highly reccomend checking out both artists but the best i think is atrocity exhibition by danny brown. im sure youve heard of tyler the creator, frank , kendrick but if u havent i would put those at the top of ur list
The glitch from the past moniker becomes even more relevant when our realize that JPEGMAFIA produced this entire album on an SP-404, a relative relic of 2000s and the same tool that was used by figures like DOOM, Madlib and J Dilla. That is to say that if Peggy and Danny Brown were to wakeup in 2005, this is the glitch that they would produce. I also really enjoyed your insight on Jack Harlow Combo Meal, "yall let Jack Harlow sell yall chicken" is such a clever and slick line. That being said, while I don't mean to undermine the genius and creativity oozing from this album, I feel it may be less academic than you give it credit for. Some implicit reflections of the artists -their experiences in music industry, their understandings of the cultural artifices of male and female, their place in music history - do become visible, but the lyricism itself isn't those reflection's main surrogate. Bars like "if you on your period call me moses, ima about to split that red sea" and "that pussy wet like noahs ark" are clever ways to describe sex acts, but just descriptions of sex acts. Likewise, with Peggy in particular, tons of the bars lead into each other with interesting and funny references which portray a wide understanding of culture, but which add up to a thesis of "I get girls and crush sucka mcs". I think that's reflected in the mix, where words are so drowned that they become unintelligible, hard consonants and buttery vowels which form another instrument in the compositional cathedrals that are these intricate, godlike beats. If you want that uber academic, literature-steeped, intertextual ish you gotta go for someone like billy woods or Aesop Rock, the former in particular with works like Aethiopes. Quick aside: you really should listen to Aethiopes. I don't mean to attack a phantom presence with this critique, but important to my understanding of this album is that by and large, interpretation of it in any broad context, beyond two incredibly talented artists making very good hiphop music, requires more of an anthropological approach than an attempt at direct analysis of the ideas presented in the lyrics. Genuinely an enjoyable video anyway. I've been scouring the internet for reviews of this album, and this has gotta be one of the best. I AM chronically online, so you can be sure that my dataset is extra clean.
What a brilliant video. Great commentary and a wonderful, truly positive (as in empathetic on a deep level) approach. I subscribed within the first 5 minutes

Great reaction, very thoughtful and introspective
this is an excellent reaction and I love how you articulated your thoughts and emotions throughout the listen. ❤
i think the title track is more about the mainstream media’s narrow-minded view of what is considered ‘good music’
