Love your recipe it is very hearty and the little potatoes will add to the creaminess. I love oysters fixed any way, but the stew is especially nice. I think I will make your recipe for this Christmas.
Thank-you for adding celery and potato...why isn't alot of people's recipie this way. What's the difference between clam chowder and oyster chowder....
My mom always made a big pot of oyster stew a couple times every winter. I am not a fan of theboysters but i did enjoy the milky broth. So, i found a recipe somewhere fkr moc oyster stew. You use peeed and diced eggplant. And it was delicious.
@@chefdeanjamesmax I think what probably turned me off, besides the smell, I saw my mom checking them to make sure there were no shells or sand mixed in with them.
I think calling it "New England" oyster stew is a bit of a stretch with all the ingredients you've added, especially with the jalapeño and tabasco. We don't typically add heat to food.
I live in Florida and eat local Oysters all the time, and I have never heard of anyone getting sick from them. It sounds like liberal Yankee propaganda to me.
Thanks for your comment Risk is higher in a warm water oyster versus cold water oysters So some people are concerned with that when eating raw Personally I eat them all raw too
Beautiful dish. I now live in MA so I'd like to learn to enjoy oysters.
Glad you are enjoying
Excellent recipe - great for this holiday season

The cream or half and half is the taste I identify with oyster stew the most after oysters and their liquid
Yes that is a key element
