    This video is long, I know, so check the timestamps below if you want to jump to a particular topic.
    Want to know how my husband and I halved our prescription in just a few months? If it's possible, why do people still wear glasses? Let me tell you this: you CAN improve your eyesight no matter how old you are or how bad your eyesight is. If you're short-sighted, you can totally regain a perfect vision. If you have issues reading or have age-related eye problems, these exercises can help, too. Eyes are controlled by muscles, and muscles need to be exercised. If they are, they will inevitably get stronger. All you need is a bit of perseverance.

    In this video, I'll tell you about an amazing book that started us on the eyesight improvement journey. I'll show you how to do the 5 stretching exercises and the de-focusing trick. It's one of the most mind-blowing things I've ever discovered, and I'm so excited to finally talk to you about it.
    These are the topics I talk about in the video (just click on the link to jump to that part):
    (0:24) "The Secret Of Perfect Vision"
    (1:15) Our eyesight before and after
    (2:10) My story: "If you don't wear glasses, you'll go blind!"
    (2:58) What happens if you wear glasses when you're still growing
    (3:39) 4 reasons why people start wearing glasses
    (6:15) The theory: how eye exercises work
    (7:25) The over-prescription paradox: how weakening your eyes will make more money
    (8:57) 5 eye stretching exercises
    (12:05) De-focusing exercise
    (14:15) How to check your eyesight at home
    ( 15:03) Where to get cheap replacement glasses
    (15:50) Exercise your eyes by under-correcting
    "The Secret of Perfect Vision" by David De Angelis: amzn.to/1toNVoO
    Print your own Snellen chart: www.i-see.org/block_letter_eye...
    Cheap glasses online: www.selectspecs.com
    I also wanted to remind you that I'm not an eye doctor or eye care professional. I'm just sharing my experience and all the tips from the book. If you have serious problems with your eyes, get help from an eye doctor.
    If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this video with them. Wearing eye "crutches" is not the only solution. Thanks for watching!
    Lots of love,

    I was sweating when I did these exercises! But I'm seeing improvements right away! I'm 15 and I thought that glasses only worsen people's eyesights. Ive been wearing my glasses for about a year now but it only gets worst. Thank God you proved me right! I'm looking forward to get better results. Thank you :)

    +Yo Soy Well, maybe you should make a video yourself then! :-) I plan all my videos carefully, and every single sentence is there for a reason. Every point was important to explain the background and to convince my viewers. If I'd made a shallow video of 2 mins with just the exercises, I don't think I would have convinced many. And, by the way, I know the video is long, that's why I made a clickable timeline in the description box with all the topics I covered for those people that just a want a particular part of the video and not all of it. To each his own! :-)

    Thank you so much. I love this video!
    I've been trying to improve my eyesight naturally for years and never really achieved anything. Most eye exercises are quite boring and it is very easy to get disheartened but deep down I've always felt that it is possible to improve your sight naturally so I've never disbelieved.
    I watched a video on UA-cam about using hormesis to improve myopia and this has had a bigger effect. I feel more motivated now.
    I think that the eyes always need something to anchor to and so using the process of hormesis I let my eyes rest on distant objects. Sometimes there will be double images and I let my eyes rest on the darkest of the two. Eventually they fuse or separate and become sharp.
    My sight is always fluctuating and it can feel frustrating to feel like you've made progress then feel like you've made none. I do get the clear flashes and they are incredible and a joy. I am definitely going to start doing the stretching exercises in this video.
    I have found the arrogance of opticians quite annoying. They insist that it's impossible to improve your eyesight naturally. They are so wrong.
    Thanks again for a great video :-)

    • @Vitalivesfree
      @Vitalivesfree  9 років тому +3

      Gra Piken Hormesis sounds really interesting. I'll look into it. I can totally relate regarding fluctuating eyesight: mine is very much like that, too. It depends a lot on how I feel, if I've slept enough, etc. It even depends on what I eat. And yes, you're so right about opticians. I just wish they accepted the fact that they aren't gods and they don't know everything (just like doctors). xx

      @GoodHealthIsGoodLife 9 років тому +1

      If having the patience to be alone or be silent for just 10 minutes of your day is painful or boring then sorry you will go on for years complaining about lack of progress. If you dont like turning your eyes to look around and see something again...no chance of any improvement. What youre saying essentially is that you find seeing normally and being in a state of homeostasis as 'boring'.
      So what is fun for you then? I doubt having impaired vision/social life, being a poor role model or hiding your personality is a fun life.
      Also youre making a mistake of playing the blame game. Saying you are normal but are the current holder of bad eyesight/eyes. The only type of eyesight that is bad is blindness or inappropriate focus, Like when standing someone will need the right stance/posture to look normal and function normally. Your personality has such wrong focus and dysfunction that your eyesight and appreciation/use of your senses has become neglected/has low priority.
      You have to look at what is pushing you backwards. Pinpoint places/people that hold you back/that are problematic and adjust your life accordingly to get the results you need. Also i suggest be less inward looking. Find positive things/people in life to think about and avoid being so isolated and inward looking. You talk like someone who lives a very small life that has to follow a strict list or chores to do everyday and like a child never strays from it. Use more of your right brain hemisphere and become less structured/do what occurs as most most interesting. Enjoy imagery, colours and the ability to read body language.

    Hi along with the said stretching and Defocusing indoor exercises do the below outdoor Bates exercises for fast results.
    Outdoor Eye exercise 👁️
    Do these steps properly as mentioned below with out wearing glasses, daily morning between 7:30 to 8:30 AM when sun is not too strong.
    Out door exercises:
    1) shifting: 😉 👍-⛰️
    (near to far and far to near = 1shift)
    (Stay on near for 3 sec and on far for 3 sec and repeat)
    Only right eye 15 times
    Only left eye 15 times
    Both eyes 20 times
    (Shift slowly, do not do rapid shifting)
    2) palming: 🙈🤲
    Do palming for 5 min. (this is to relax your eye balls, While palming your palms should not touch your eye balls)
    3) solarization:☀️😑
    Close your eye lids and face sun for 5 min and turn your head left and right to properly expose sun on your eye lids.
    4) swinging:
    Do swinging for 3 min
    (While swinging do not focus your eyes any where and relax the eyes)
    Try to avoid glasses as much as possible from now on. Try to avoid staring at computer screen or anything at short distance for long time, if in front of computer give brakes every 20 minutes and look at something at Least 20 feet far for 1 min.
    Keep your smart phone and laptop screen in blue light filter mode from 6PM to 6AM
    diet to be taken:
    Eat 1 carrot a day 🥕, take millets, spinach, nuts, beans.
    🤓->😀 in 3 to 6 months depending on how high your prescription is.

    Thanks for the video. You did a great job. It is so wonderful when someone is doing something to help others, just to be helpful. It doesn't happen very much, sadly it makes some wonder "Is it a scam?" Clearly your video is not. I am a nurse in the US and my husband was an accomplished plastic surgeon who died unexpectedly 8 yrs ago. I wish that he would have been able to use this method, as he needed perfect vision for his line of work. It makes perfect sense. An ophthalmologist told me a few years ago that I could train myself not to need glasses for close vision. She basically said that if it is hard to read, keep trying and it will train my muscles...I was too lazy until now..Thanks for the video, and for your positive upbeat attitude.

    Great video. I've been doing the main Bates method exercises, swinging, palming and sunning. Not much on focussing exercises though. I've experienced momentary flashes of clarity in both eyes. After say, 30 seconds, the eyes start to tingle and the moment of clarity ends. Lately, to lose some pounds, I've taken to cycling. To allow the eyes a workout too, I cycle without wearing glasses. If the route is familiar then it should not too much of a problem. While cycling I let the eyes try and focus on distant objects such as signposts and near objects such as cars going past. Because you're moving constantly, the eyes have to continually re-focus. The best bit is when you get the moment of clarity while you are on particularly long and straight stretch of cycling track, a really satisfying feeling when it comes.

      VitaLivesFree Hey, I actually have done exercises! And have found success! Unfortunately, I only found out about them after LASIK when my vision started getting worse and I didn't want to go back for a second surgery, but didn't want to wear glasses either. Anyways, I was wondering... Did you do the eye movement exercises everyday? Or do you take a break in between? And what do you mean by defocusing eye exercises? I love to here other people's journeys because everyone seems to have a different approach :).
      And by the way - I added your videos to one of my playlists on eye exercises! Thanks for spreading the word on your experiences and success with eye exercises!
      If you would like, please feel free to make a response video to one of my videos (preferably to my recent video talking about the importance of lowering your prescription to see vision improvement). Would you be open to making a video talking about your progress :) and how much you have lowered your prescription and your journey? Ahh!! I would just love that! It would help people have something to compare this to.
      And/Or... if you would like to do a response video talking about your and your husband's personal eye exercise routine (maybe on my video about my personal eye routine that I used). I would LOVE IT SO MUCH AND WOULD BE SO EXCITED!!!!
      Anyways, no pressure, but I thought I would make this proposal because I would love to have other people sharing their stories on my channel and that would create more exposure for your channel :)..
      Blessings! Jess

    Thank for the video which encouraged me to try this out and it worked!
    I got result way quicker than u did though.
    I do the exercise every morning and most of the evenings. I got about 1.5 less in a month time.

    +Aleks Koporge, to be honest, I don't know enough about it in order to form an opinion. I think it's good to only train the weaker eye when you do defocusing or the stretch where you have to focus on things. But I don't know how covering the strong eye all of the time would work. xx

  • @Vitalivesfree
    @Vitalivesfree  9 років тому

    +Carol C I think you'll be fine. The only thing is that if you exercise every day, your progress will be slower or it won't happen at all because your eyes won't have time to recover. Just start giving them rest and you'll be surprised by how much stronger they feel. xx

    Hi, It's me again, I just wanted to give u a quick update, I last posted on here about 3 months ago, well since then I have been wearing my glasses less, a lot less, and doing the eye exercises. not as religiously as I would like, but I definitely still did them. And let me tell you, both my eyes have gone from a -2.00 to -1.25 and 1.50. WHICH IS FANTASTIC. can you believe that? I was super skeptical, I must say. But I was very shocked when I found out. I had a check up today and got a new, lowered prescription. I am very pleased. Thank you very much.

    +Owen Westlake Hello! Glad you found the video helpful! For -1.75 it would be best to use +1.00 reading glasses because if you try to read without any glasses at all, your arms might not be long enough to hold the book at blur point. Try it out and see how it works for you. You can always get cheap reading glasses if you need them. I would definitely cover the eye that can see well, otherwise it will compensate for the weaker one and you won't see any improvements. Good luck! xx

  • @QuB4ll

    Well my experience with glasses is, that as a child I kept wearing them all the time and my eyesight kept getting weaker and weaker. Around the age of 20 I started to wear them only, when I absolutly needed them (e.g. driving car or reading a book). And it happened that my eyesight stopped getting worse and at some point my eyesight even started to get better. I go every year to the doctor and my eyesight is always almost a full point better.
    I can only suggest not to wear glasses all the time as well.

    • @Vitalivesfree
      @Vitalivesfree  9 років тому +1

      QuB4ll I couldn't agree more. Glasses aren't really necessary to prevent worsening of vision as eye doctors would want us to believe. In fact, the opposite is true. xx

      +VitaLivesFree Thanks , would u know a average number for my age? 14 years old? also what have you done to get your numbers down. At the moment im trying to have 3 carrots a day, drinking plenty water, having 2 vitamin A tablets a day , coriander juice drops in my eye , and walking on the grass
      barefoot. Will these help a lot on getting my number down?

    • @Vitalivesfree
      @Vitalivesfree  8 років тому

      I don't think there is any average number. Eyesights differ a lot. Mine was around -2.50 or -3.00 when I was your age. All of the things you are doing are great for your eyesight and your overall health. Just be careful with vitamin A supplements. Overdosing is dangerous and is relatively easy. It's so easy to get enough vitamin A from foods that there is really no point in supplementing. xx

    Thank you soooo much for posting this. I have been doing these exercises roughly everyday for two months now and I can confirm they really do work. I tried to implement the Bates method before but found it too convoluted and long winded to stick with. It really helps that you've condensed the practice down into a few simple exercises for us. My eyesight is not perfect, but it is much much better than before, especially in my left eye (previously everything more than a metre away was very blurry with this eye) now I can make out detail 7 meters away... One word of advice to anyone starting these exercises - you have to be consistent (like any other form of exercise) to see the benefits, and increasing strength/flexibility of your eyes doesn't happen overnight (you wouldn't do 5 push ups and suddenly expect to be stronger). But the results are very worth it

    +David de la Cruz You need to do stretches on one day, defocusing on the next day. Basically, on alternating days. Both sleeping enough and sleeping early are important. A lot of restorative work happens in the body between 10pm and midnight, so if you can get to bed early, your body (including your eyes) will be able to benefit from it. xx

    You think just like me. I refuse to get glasses but I need better vision in order to get my driving license. Many people tell why don't you just get them. I make up excuses so I don't have to explain my logic to them.
    Regarding people who are defensive who wear glasses when talking about natural ways to improve their vision. The reason many get this way is because it goes against everything they have been told and believe in.
    Example If someone was taking a tea for a few years because they believe in many benefits that research studies have shown then a new research study comes out saying that it does nothing. The person taking the tea most likely would not want to know about the new research study.
    This is known as Cognitive Dissonance.
    cognitive dissonance is the mental stress or discomfort experienced by an individual who holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values at the same time, or is confronted by new information that conflicts with existing beliefs, ideas, or values

      @Vitalivesfree  9 років тому +1

      gtorres1719 Thanks for the awesome explanation! And it's awesome knowing that you think like me. I agree that it might be cognitive dissonance, but then why do some people accept new information like a sponge while others totally close up? That always fascinates me. xx

    +mini G You need to do the exercises without glasses or contacts. And it's better not to do them every day. The eye muscles need time to recover and grow stronger. can you go into any more detail about anti-correction and transitioning to weaker prescription glasses? You say to do the exercises with the weaker prescription (& each is weaker by "4"? i.e. -2 becomes +2, -4 becomes no glasses, correct?) What about reading? Are you supposed to go to the weaker prescription glasses (or NO glasses) right away then? Also, how do you order glasses? Do you take your current prescription (say, -4 Right eye and -3 Left eye) and simply order a pair that's 4 diopter weaker. Your exercises I understand, but this is the one part of your video I don't get...the Transitioning

    • @Vitalivesfree
      @Vitalivesfree  8 років тому +2

      The anti-correction glasses are only for the defocusing exercise, which should be done for 30-60 minutes every other day. You shouldn't really use them longer than that. And yes, if you had -2.00, you would go for around +2.00 reading glasses, if you had around -4.00, you would simply do defocusing without using any glasses at all. Regarding weaker glasses for every day use, I would ofer 0.5 or 1 diopter less than your current prescription and wear them the majority of the time. I hope it's a bit clearer now. :) xx bellinghammond

      Actually that's not a scam because I did not pay any money. I simply did those exercises in the video she was talking about, but unfortunately that didn't help. I think I'm getting a lasik, but not now, maybe in the future. I'll keep wearing contacts for the time being. I'm enjoying them.

    I get these 'random flashes of perfect vision' quite often. I've never done any of these exercises before either; it seems to happen more after my eyes water (from yawning)
    I'm going to do these exercises and hope that my eyes become perfect over time. Thanks for the video!

      Yes, but I'd suggest cover the stronger eye and only exercise the weaker ones until they become almost equal. Otherwise, the stronger eye will overcompensate. (This applies to exercises where you have to focus on something, not for the stretches) xx

    I have myopia, I'm twelve. I can't see the board unless I yawn or blink hard. Whenever I have flashes of clear vision and blink... it goes away. My mom forced me to wear them in third grade but I refused. A day ago she made me again, and said it can't be cured. Yet I asked her to check my first eye test, and it was perfect. I know my eyes can see far, they just decide not to.

      I'm sorry to hear it! But you posted your first comment a couple of weeks ago. That's too early to say that the exercises aren't working for you. It's like quitting the gym after two weeks because you're in pain and feel more tired than before. of course! But give yourself at least a month and you'll start enjoying it. In any case, I'm really sorry that you're disappointed. xx

    You are so right, my children just started wearing glasses a few years ago and their eye sight is dramatically changing every year. Their school basically put pressure on me to get them glasses and my daughter is needing new glasses every 6 months. She is 10 now started wearing them at 7. I used glasses occasionally starting at about 10 yrs old with my eyesight not changing in 15 yrs but I got myself a new pair when I got the kids and not only do I need a new prescription every year I am having problems seeing near and far. I thought I was going crazy, or maybe the kids had some deficiency or illness. I remember taking off my glasses and saying to my daughter I feel like these things are poisoning my eyes which led me here. Everything you said makes sense, especially the part about the 20/24. They dramatize how much your vision has changed to make you think you really need these things. Thanks so much for not only the exercises but the logic portion as well.

    +Louis Tomlinson Don't worry, Louis, you can take control of your eyesight and stop it from worsening. If you start the exercises and take off the glasses whenever you can, you'll start seeing results very quickly, starting from one month. I'd definitely recommend wearing your old glasses for school and for any activities where you need to see well. When you're at home or just taking a walk or chatting with your friends, try to take them off at all You'll feel very vulnerable at the beginning because glasses are really like crutches, you forget how to live without them, but you'll notice how with each day you start seeing better. You'll be surprised! Good luck, Louis! xx

    Can someone please explain something to me. These exercises are supposed to reduce or eliminate nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia. After 4 years of undergraduate work, 4 more at Berkeley getting a doctorate in eye care and 26 years of experience helping people see as best as they can, I have a pretty good idea about how the eye functions. Nearsightedness results when the cornea is steeper than ideal, putting a far image in FRONT of the retina. Minus lenses move that image back to the retina and therefore, put it in focus. LASIK flattens the cornea, and so fixes this problem. If the eye is longer than ideal, the same effect occurs. A distant object focuses in FRONT of the retina and is out of focus when it reaches the retina. So exercises that "fix" nearsightedness must do the same. They either flatten the cornea or shorten the eye. Farsighted eyes have corneas that are too FLAT or the length of the eye is too SHORT. But the guys promoting eye exercises do not distinguish between the two. The same exercises that fix nearsightedness should make farsighted eyes WORSE.
    Astigmatism is usually the result of the cornea having a different curvature vertically compared to horizontally (like half a football as compared to half a baseball). How do these exercises change the radius of curvature of the cornea (like LASIK does) and why doesn't it make that problem WORSE as often as it makes it better? The same exercises work for ANY refractive error? That's like an MD giving the SAME prescription medication to patients with both low and others with high blood pressure. Does that make any sense?

      I've been wondering about eye exercises for some time, as my right eye sometimes takes some coercing to get to infinity focus. Aren't there people in ocean cultures that can focus underwater? isn't it possible that eyes can get "lazy" over time and lose the ability to contort themselves in certain ways? if so, it makes sense to me that doing exercises that make the eye do things it has become unused to doing might help... although, the exercises ive heard of before involve focusing really close then far over and over.

      If you have a water balloon attached to several muscles when you make them stronger they will have the power to either squeeze or pull the balloon to the desired shape. Their coordination is made by the brain. I think strong muscles can force bumping or flattening. But I also think it takes way way more effort to strengthen them than she says.

    • @ilash100
      @ilash100 7 років тому

      The extraocular muscles TURN the eyes. If they changed the shape of your eye, your refractive error would change every time you looked left and right. It doesn't work that way and that's why strengthening the muscles has NO effect on refractive error.

      Did you forget that we still have a lens in our eyes that reshapes ? How else can we see closeby and far away with the same eye? A camera can not focus on a close object and see clear in the distance either..
      If you know how the eye works, then explain to me how this lens changes it's shape to focus? Aren't there muscles involved ?
