But, imagine the entirety of the milky way with 10,00000000000000000000 plus worlds with thousands more people living in them. A democracy wouldn't work because nothing would be achieved. Not only that but you have the risk of all those planets breaking off from the imperium and starting their own factions. Which, in a galaxy would be hard to fight off civil wars. So, instead it is much easier to govern an entire galaxy under one man.

Therefore a centralized government such as a dictator is very ineffective. So each planet is actually given quite a bit of autonomy and free reign. The governors and high ranking officials of a planet generally make most of the decisions concerning the planet including: food, water, production, manpower, and etc. The only time the central government of Terra steps in is on very pressing matters such as military or strategic production. For example, the Imperial Military and High Lords of Terra probably focus more attention on the fortress worlds in the eye of terror rather than some random world in the outer rim. Therefore the outer rim world receives more autonomy.
A scale Battleship model for tabletop would be bigger than the building they're in, let alone the individual room. Imperial Battleships make the biggest ships in every other setting cry bitch tears.
The ability to construct machine gods of war has been lost to mankind in the dark far distant future for they do not possess the miracle material of foam board and dollar tree has gone out of business.
I'd love to have one of these for a few matches at the tables there. Just use all your points for one of these and make it take on a whole army at once.
The highlight wearing is gut, so are the models, but those... energy damage? they look like polka dots. great big polka dot titans. Praise the flamboyant machine spirit!
armour is great, and model is phenomenal, buuutttt...red hot areas are like splatter. I suggest using an airbrush to blend and layer the warm colours, as for the big guns, you could blend in some black smoke effect as well as some worn-out textures/weathering. Overall, good job guys!
I agree. They reg and orange blobs of paint look strange, and the rest of the colour scheme is dull. They did an awesome job on the build, but the paint seems so lackadaisical. A shame...

Mother Superior Yeah they didn't seem to put any real thought into the paint job. They don't have to detail it and paint it like warhammers but I don't think it would have killed them to plan a careful scheme around even 4 or 5 colors and plan in some real battle damage and sand papering to really bring it to life. The paint job is 99% of what makes a warhammer miniature, and I usually plan everything around it.
Same here, I only paint the figures as I don't play the game and the paint job is what makes the miniatures original and often pretty beautiful. It's painful to see an obviously massive project ruined (for me) by a rushed paint job.

It does look pretty bad, Im guessing it was supposed to look like it was being shot at and the yellow/red spots are from recent weapon blast/impacts with the titan causing the armor to glow, but yeah...

The other had lost it's void shields, had a vortex? (been a long while since i actually played) at it's feet and 1 hull point left . I do believe that all these 2 titans achieved in the battle was to kill one smaller titan (maybe some assorted crap tanks as well), as being such a huge dangerous target everyone close by just focused everything they had on them from the offset.
It's awesome to see someone take the time to build these things. We often hear about these things in 40k lore but you just know you were never gonna lay eyes on one in real life and ugh if Forgeworld did make this sort of titan; I don't even wanna think about the price. :)

If i was still playing, I think i'd build one that had a playable interior. so that its not just a titan that would kill everything, but a mobile battlefield. also, add a RC scale steam engine to power it and smoke effects. (I always go all out when doing things)
If I remember correctly GW said its meant to be ash wastes camo, and the flashes resemble flak explosions in the air and futuristic nuclear weather explosions in the cloudline, like lightning.
Those are heat-spots from laser attacks that has penetrated it's void shields, probably from Volcano Cannons, from smaller titans or from Super Heavy Tanks. Or if it had faced another Imperial-class titan, it might be from a Hellstorm [laser] cannon, which you can see on these titans, the multibarrel weapon one.

If you try to look past the spots, its actually really well painted considering the large surfaces (which can look bland unless painted well) ill agree the spots weren't a good idea, but I wouldn't call it amateurish
Shawn Mullins I daresay that in order to give that a decent, table top quality paint job would take about two years of effort by itself, perhaps shorter if you make heavy use of spray paint and a large nozzle airbrush, so I can't say I blame them for that paintjob so long as they plan to improve it from there... I must say though that I am baffled by the large heat marks, those are a wasted effort in that they do look awful.

Printing the parts something like this on a 3D printer would be far more costly than using the off the shelf and recycled components the way these two did. Just the filament alone would set you back hundreds of dollars. The way they have done it is much more rewarding.
Yeah I prefer your emperor titan personally. I think the spots are camo, they had that camo design on the GW website years ago before they took down all the articles.
Well if you assaulted it, and managed to stomp out one of its void shields and you took no losses, then you technically won combat and the titan needs to retreat. If while it is running off the board, it fails its rally test and you assault it with the same squad while its running away, it is instantly 'destroyed'. Being that the rules state that if a unit is assaulted if it is fleeing, it is instantly wiped out.
even if you made an imperitor titan to the same scale as the SM models, it would be around 40 foot tall (if not more), they are walking cathedrals, the largest ones can be seen from space.
Im not sure if you answered this in the video, but whats with the color scheme? I cant tell if its supposed to be heat fading from las hits, or just polka dots. Either is cool (though the las cannon hits idea would admittedly be cooler) I'm just curious.

Well if you assaulted it, and managed to stomp out one of its void shields and you took no losses, then you technically won combat and the titan needs to retreat. If while it is running off the board, it fails its rally test and you assault it with the same squad while its running away, it is instantly 'destroyed'. Being that the rules state that if a unit is assaulted if it is fleeing, it is instantly wiped out.
Whatever compelled these men to build such behemoths is beyond me.

even if you made an imperitor titan to the same scale as the SM models, it would be around 40 foot tall (if not more), they are walking cathedrals, the largest ones can be seen from space.

The tower guns could be a bastion. But that's more cost effective

you could do a small battle on top of those... while doing a huge battle with it.

Im not sure if you answered this in the video, but whats with the color scheme? I cant tell if its supposed to be heat fading from las hits, or just polka dots. Either is cool (though the las cannon hits idea would admittedly be cooler) I'm just curious.
